rebekah2011: That means u probably didn't understand me Sir. The message I passed was that u can never completely detach RISK(which can inarguably give rise to loss) with investing. Just like failure can be a necessary part of success, RISK can be a necessary requisite for the drive for REWARD with every asset class of investment. The problem with ur argument/assertion(from ur post) is that it failed to give due consideration to the thing about the TIME VALUE FOR MONEY !! Often times, its wiser and more rewarding to be bold enough to cut ur loses and rebalance/redirect ur asset play to where u could reap better returns(and get better value for ur time) That's why u hear renowned investors advise on the need to keep ur winners and divest from ur losers in line with ur investing personality. But of cause u can not do that if u fail to see the importance of the part in bold to the act of investing. Imagine, u were bold enough to sell off ur UPL when u initially felt the need, and had invested same in a different asset play(say the fixed income space). U sure would've been better off.(reward against time in view) Not trying to assert perfection,(we all learn everyday) but am sure u got my drift. Bottom line: Btw RISK and LOSES lies the weight of REWARD with any investment. While u can't avoid them, u can manage them. Regards. 2 Likes 1 Share |

meshpips: Guy, na Lagos Baptist Academy, Obanikoro you went to. U be real Efiwe to be honest, I was initially doubting you the way you burnt someone else funds. The guy actually had the claimed results but I might not know how that has truly translated to his real life achievement though. Funny enough, the guy should be in his 40. |

onegentleguy: bro just know today that i post exactly what i see on stock, so re-think before u throw stone at me i am loaded on DS when given valuation of the Fp based on Q3 released. it easy to say fp was 30 cos have it in my portfolio but i can not do that. i cant beautify a stock with words more than what the numbers is saying. that was exactly DS fp based on Q3 but do u know why i go for DS and reason i recommend it? it cos of CASH i stated this first time i bring DS here months ago. cash valuation price is 26. those company moving above their fairprice on NSE is moving cos of what i call oxygen CASH and i expect DS to do the same example is ccnn this company fp is 7 but hav alot of cash. her cash valuation is higher, u can see the present mkt price forget the merger romour another is Dangote cement, fp is 90 But loaded with cash so cash valuation is higher hence her current price another is MTN fp is 90 but hav plenty cash so cash valuation is higher okomu oil also and so on some company can have higher fp but struggling with cash so mkt continue pricing such stock below fp eg caverton and some of those banking stock bro rethink my matter no amount of stones can cut my ranking here. i know what am doing 4 Likes |

Nigeria’s capital market investors are not happy with the e-dividend mandate which was imposed by the market’s regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Some of the frustrated shareholders have described the process as “a scam”. Why their grievance? According to the shareholders, the e-dividend process is difficult, therefore making it extremely impossible for them to claim their dividends. Note that dividends valued at N126.03 billion are currently unclaimed because of the so-called “difficult” process. [READ MORE: Fidson’s shareholders approve N225 million dividend payment] A shareholder, Mrs Olabisi Deji-Folutile, told reporters that the process is not as easy as the Securities and Exchange Commission had made it seem. According to her, she has been unable to receive any dividends despite completing the registration eight months ago. “I went through my stockbroker and they told me they were going to process it through the registrars, but I have not heard anything from them. “We need to know what is happening to our unclaimed dividends. I have shares in First Bank, Access Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, NPF Microfinance Bank, among others, but no dividends. They say maybe we have issues. But I was not told I have any issue. I provided all the documents needed. They need to tell us what is going on or what else we need to provide to receive our dividends.” Other investors have shared similar experiences. Mr Olalekan Oregbesan even alleged that it is the registrars that make it difficult due to their extremely strenuous verification processes. In reaction to this, the Institute of Market Registrars argued that the identification/verification process is necessary for obvious reasons. In the meantime, Mary Uduk, SEC’s acting Director-General, recently disclosed that dividends that are not claimed by shareholders within fifteen months would be returned to companies. The unclaimed dividends could then be plowed back into such companies, thereby facilitating their operations and ultimately increasing shareholders’ prospects of making more money in the future. https://nairametrics.com/2019/10/25/secs-e-dividend-mandate/ 1 Like 1 Share |
