profeddor15: Yes, everything can enter at once and referred to as a "Gift Deed". Get notarized document from the court on this too. |

BoazBoo: Get a new passport and email cic to ask for an extension, they'll give you. My passport eventually came out before my extension started sef. Those immigration officers just need extra money so grease their palms wella. 3 Likes |

I think i know where you orked. Working as a collection agent has opened my eyes to see how canadians handle finances. Most live pay to paycheck and that person that's barely surviving is paying off a $35,000 car. Im like CanadianWasp: 1 Like |

Thanks, been doing all of that. I have someone on ground to help me inspect apartments that's why I'm asking, found a couple on rentfaster, one the landlord increased the rent by $100 because he'll hold the place till January and I'm yet to hear from the rest. I just want an agent or landlord familiar with new immigrants as I believe it will ease the requirements. jesusbaby01: |

pejuhazel: Hi, please did you discuss with them while you are in Nigeria? How did you convince them to consider renting to you while you are still in Nigeria without any rental history. I keep hearing that you need rental history before anyone will rent to you |

please could you disclose your career type i.e. finance, construction, health etc? Also, do you know how easy is it for accountants to get jobs in small towns? Thanks! salford1: 2 Likes |

I believe you can always renew your passport in less than 2weeks at Ikoyi passport office. I didn't mine around September and got it less than 2weeks. Just go to there office and speak to an officer in uniform. BoazBoo: 1 Like 1 Share |

kraits03:Electrical Engineering (Facilities). For accountants: It's just like applying for jobs in any other city. Only difference is that small to medium sized city vacancies would get fewer applications than big city vacancies. 7 Likes |

yes. Licensing vary to an extent, depending on the province you intend to reside and practice in. If you have landed or about to, you can send einsteino a pm, and request to be added to a group where licensing information are being shared. Answers to your questions on there will be better than a one size fits all answer I post on here. If you are still in the pool, you can check out engineerscanada dot ca. The site will give you an idea and a roadmap/flowchart on what to expect, and how to go about obtaining your license. 4 Likes 6 Shares |

salford: My starter province is Alberta because I have got strong family ties there. My challenge is I do not have enough Engineering Field experience ( Just 2years as IT lead and 5years in financial industry as Credit Analyst). In a bit to move away from financial industry I just finished my M.Tech, Electrical Engineering. I have been going through APEGA site and the required engineering experience to get the EIT or P.Eng is my issue. Many thanks, Bro. |

pejuhazel: As a landed immigrant without credit history, be prepared to cough out 2 months rent upfront including 1 month security deposit (which they all claim is refundable but you fight tooth and nail to get it back). Thats what happens when you don't have credit history most times. 2 Likes 8 Shares |

RuggedArab:Hello RuggedArab. You do not have the required 48 months experience. Hence, EIT would be the right path to take, then go through the whole length of the process to qualify for PEng. If you move to Alberta, you might want to explore occupations in your former IT role, especially if it is Engineering related e.g. Network Engineering or Telecoms. Your 2 years of work experience in that role may help in job search for an EIT position. |

Anywhere can get boring real quick, the trick is to factor current lifestyle or intended lifestyle alongside career opportunities and family needs before you leave (be open minded also). I haven't gotten PR yet but I know where to go in Canada to live an interesting life (career and personal wise). I live in Abuja, I like hiking, yoga, kayaking and camping. I Have discovered 3 towns that has my occupation in demand, has lakes, ski centers, Hills, swimming clubs, yoga groups and ranches (perfect for me). I know I'll be bored in Toronto, a place where you can drive for minutes before seeing a tree or other signs of nature. However, my Sanguine-energetic-friend who can not stay at home during weekends is leaving for Toronto and he would flourish there. Dollywood: 9 Likes |
