The problem is that it’s not just football, it’s in almost every sector. We have normalized dishonesty and we will continue to pay the price.

Politicians lie, civil servants fake their ages, coaches take bribes, we defraud each other, put ‘our’ people when we get somewhere at the expense of more qualified applicants, etc.
We should even ask how some of these coaches got/continue to retain their jobs.
It’s an attitude we need to get rid of as a country.

You have summarised one of the core aspects of the NIGERIAN PROBLEM.

U think say na everybody wey dey here dey watch Ball?

The championship lacks quality but very physical and intense. The league itself is like a war zone where there is little room for pretty football which is the reason they usually frustrates epl teams in cup games.

I never believed that a player like ejaria who looks fragile could cut it in the championship but his dominance so far in midfield battles this season have proved me wrong.

komekn:

People just don't know how physically intense and competitive the EPL is as well as the Championship.

Look at Etebo struggling to make headway in.tje Championship our best Midfielder.

Then along comes essentially a league one player and claims position IMMEDIATELY.

Don't people read the game why did Musa struggle in the EPL or should we say fail.

somehow:

yeah. I wanted to really see Okoye tested via this u23 tournament to justify his inclusion in the SE.

I guess if that had happened, we would not have seen what Abubakar can do because Immama would have started Okoye ahead of him.

No doubt about it that he would have been a straight starter for the U 23 Team that just crashed out and ABUBAKAR wouldn't have been discovered and exposed to all and sundry for recognition and praises

I lost all hope on the guy when he struggled to get games at lowly rated vv venlo few seasons ago.

If he flops in Huesca, next stop for him will be the norwagian 2nd tier cheesy

His biggest problem is believing that he has arrived when he is yet to even start

Nna, Ezenwa has been inactive for possibly close to four months and yet he still gets invited. So don't make it seem like only Nigerian coaches invite inactive players, I mean Rohr does that every other international break and we all look sideways.

Ezenwa's involvement with the team is as a back up goalie. Since he has been inactive how many games has he played for the super eagles?

Carry your sentimental excuse shift abeg.

Na ceremonial invite at this point. When Uzoho was injured against Brazil, Rohr fielded an 18-year old Okoye ahead of him

Man wasn't even in the last matchday squad

That kid is super strong and robust. I have had the opportunity to see few of his games this season and I must confess he impressed me so much.

Even with the robust nature of the championship he still have that confidence of showing off incredible skills every weekend.

I pointed it our few weeks ago after watching him and Eze that he seem more complete and versatile than the qpr play maker.

Ovie reminds me of a young Paul pogba emerging from man united's academy many years ago but he is more pacy and hard working than the French midfield maestro.

Ovie is too good to remain in the championship beyond this season. Even if he can't get an epl team to sign him he should move to the French or German league. Kid is super talented

It is so sad.

If we managed to qualify, there is zero guarantee that we will make the medals. At least not with the current set up.
Of course if we had qualified, majority of them would have been discarded and New blood mostly from the present SE brought in like it happened in Atlanta OLYMPICS in 1996

Not with the current coaching crew. They have a history of not inviting the best players even when they could.

His Dad is mixed race with a Nigerian Father and a white mother. His Dad is half Nigerian in thay regard but Ross has a white mother.

His Dad unfortunately is an alcoholic and has little or no understanding of Nigeria. Ross himself is typical scouser and knows nothing about Nigeria and has no affinity with anything Nigerian.

So that idea that he looks up to Victor Moses is just not true. Even the Nigerian and African players in Everton don't really jell with him from an African perspective.

2019 U23 AFCON : Four Takeaways From Nigeria U23s Disappointing Draw Vs South Africa

Published: November 15, 2019

Nigeria will not be at the football event of the 2020 Olympics after the Imama Amapakabo coached side were held to a scoreless draw by South Africa on Friday at the Al Salam Stadium, Cairo.

Izuchukwu Okosi presents four things noted in the disappointing match.

1. The Eagles Started Well With High Pressing

The Nigerian side started the match the better team and seemed to be the likelier team to score but their performance level dropped when mental alertness was required. The initial high press deployed gave way to a poor finish.

2. The South Africans Wasted Time

The South Africans went down at the slightest contact with a Nigerian player most times to waste a few seconds.

That tactic worked a trick for them and it took the steam off the Eagles.

3. The Second African Side Parked The Bus

Knowing that a draw was enough for them to qualify for the semifinals, the South Africans were comfortable sitting back and hoping to catch the Nigerians on the counter.

They were ultra defensive and only poured forward when the plan was to take the Nigerians by surprise. The South Africans have players with pace and that was yo their advantage.

4. The Eagles Discipline Was A Factor

The Nigerian players' frustration grew as the South African side played so deep and resorted to falling on the deck with the slightest of touches.

That earned Valentine Ozornwafor a yellow card for dissent and Kelechi Nwakali another yellow card in the second half.

And when l questioned his selection l was called HATER.

Then TheSuperDelusional Hallelujah praise singers band kept screaming his praises to the extent of projecting he will be in the SE World cup Squad.

This is the SPECAIL TALENT.

It's simply impossible for someone who has not played competitive football for near 10 months to sustain any kind of impact in a competitive international tournament.

The U-23s missed out on the Olympics today. Well... I am surprised many are that stunned. To be fair, it was already "Mission Impossible" after that first game loss.

I clearly stated that our chances of making it Tokyo just got crazily slimmer. Fine, our win over Zambia did raise some hopes... But sadly the Mission Impossible was never to be made possible.

We move on.

Lewis is good and Norwich re convinced they will lose him when they drop back to the championship which is the main reason they re going for okoroji.

Norwich coach is German and due to the clubs minimal finance he have been able to bring in few players from the German 2nd tier on low cost.

Bayer leverkusen are also interested in okoroji

The bolded above is exactly what I posted about here in reference to football being all about intelligence and high IQ in my reaction to the reasons why they let themselves fail rather than fame by giving today's match their all by playing as if they wanna die on the pitch.

It was as if Izuchukwu Okosi was reading my mind while I was posting here though

Also the competition served as an eye opener to folks who over hype certain players.

Atleast Rohr and his team will be appreciated a bit by the nay sayers who re currently in sifia pain grin
