Hate speach is free speech. As long you're not inciting direct calls to violence the state shouldn't prosecute you. Inciting violence is already illegal so I dont see need for another law that will be selectively enforced.

The northern youth quit notice was a threat but nobody was arrested. The police decided it wasnt worth their time prosecuting it. Im sure there's others examples others can contribute.

This man doesn't have bearing, how would u hate someone that would not bring about violence?

If you're not an emotionally unstable person it wont. Do you plan being violent in America that has no hate spech laws? If the answer is no why do you suddenly have self control?

I never knew the wickedness of this government was this much....So they actually do check social media....I thought they don’t...
They see all we are going thru daily as we post on social media but they ignore it...we post bad roads daily, bad hostels in our government owned institutions, bad classrooms in primary school..people with emergency cases, poor state of health facilities..we post these things regularly.... they pretend like they don’t see it, but they see hate speech..

If u are a Nigerian and by now u don’t know hate speech is whatever u say and this government doesn’t like ...them ur zombie- operating software is on the highest version

Both things you listed are already crimes. Defamation is called libel when written and slander when spoken.

So u need rocket science to know money has been released for all the social amenities we ain’t enjoying..if u care to know, take a walk to the ministry in charge roads..they will show u paper evidence that our roads that cars have difficulties passing have been constructed and maintained 3times in the last two years with brand new solar street light..yet physically nothing is there..
The ministry of education will show u paper evidence of how they allocated funds billions for education and yet our labs don’t have equipment or light for cutting edge research....

so u think Nigeria is just too poor and can’t afford to construct all the terrible roads all over Nigeria and all the lacking basic amenities cos u are asking me which money was stolen

U are asking me if I’m any better? Of course I am better...until proven other wise....I have not mismanaged allocated state or federal funds meant for social amenities and alleviating the pains of masses....so yes I am better than those that have been there and messed up over and over again...

I read your first paragraph and stopped reading. I think the major problem without youth is ignorance and refusal to read. Have u ever looked at the Nigerian budget, revenue, sectoral releases Do u watch news Do even use your phone internet for anything other than to wail

You don't even know the name of the ministry in charge of road that u referred to, how do u want to know their budget or capital releases That ministry is called ministry of works. If u want to know more, go and read their budget, watch their budget defence in national assembly. Buy newspaper and educate urself. Don't rush to comment on what u don't know, just based on roadside gossip

It's unfortunate that we have youth like this with zero interest in actual governance except to nag and wail. The president was right after all, Nigeria is plagued with lazy youths

The dictionary was for your benefit. Defamation contravenes the law in Nigeria that's why its a crime.

Which law? Have u ever heard someone jailed for defamation You are ignorant but still persist in your ignorance

Civil wrongs aren't crimes. They are not punishable by imprisonment or fines rather it's damages to the injured party. Moreover it can never be defamation if it's true. Truth is a defence to defamation, so govt can't take u to court if u are speaking the truth

When someone is trying to assist your ignorance, it's best to keep shut and learn ok
