3 mins apart I think?

This was my own timer before I went to the hospital.
I was 5cm at the time I was checked by the doctor. If I stayed longer at home, I for born for house

Hi please listen to my story

I have a newborn and I am currently going through postpartum depression which has weighed me down a lot over the few months. My mother in law is staying with us to help. Now with breastfeeding, it has really not been easy. I am in constant pain, It has physically drained me out and I also thinking it was contributing to my depression. When it’s time for breastfeeding, I would constantly cry and it was making me resent my beautiful child. Sometimes as a new mum you just feel like there’s nothing in the world apart from your breast and your baby, it was making me very miserable along with the other postpartum stress I have to deal with. I was just overwhelmed by everything. So I have decided to give my baby formula and at first I felt bad, but I noticed an immediate relief off my shoulders and my mood began to rise. My husband was also able to help me with feeding and I was just relieved.

Since I’ve started formula feeding my mil has been so abusive towards me. Calling me lazy, saying that I want to do shakara hence why I’m not breastfeeding. Calling me selfish and all sorts all because I don’t want to ‘compromise’ my sanity for breastfeeding. She also speaks in her native language (husband and I are from different tribes) saying all manners of things, all because I have switched to formula. I have discussed this issue with my husband, and he has tried to be supportive however he is just trying to please both of us, and he is encouraging me to do exclusive breastfeeding despite everything that I have been going through. He claims it’s the best for our baby. Now I’m back to square one and I’m just feeling so down, worn out and stressed. I just don’t know what to do.

Pls get someone to talk to them.postpartum depression is not what to joke with.i don't wish it for my worst enemy. I have been down that road, its hell.2 years after the birth of my first child,I am still struggling with it. Currently pregnant and am still on drugs. It hasn't been easy.Take charge of your life now before its too late.she won't be there when it is dealing with you.Get someone to talk her that she will do more harm than good to the baby and you!....

Dear mama, congratulations on your newborn. May God protect you both. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. The Lord is your strength.

Please talk to your hubby in the language he'll understand. Explain to him that nobody loves your baby more than you do, but you need to stay alive and healthy for your child. If he's still not convinced, please find someone he would listen to to talk to him, a Dr, a specialist. With your hubby by your side, you can now talk to your MIL. It might be difficult, she might not come around immediately but you'll be doing what is best for you and your baby.
I pray for divine intervention in your case. Sending you love and light kiss

Sorry about this. Personal I feel like mother in law being around is not just for your baby but also for the mental health and overall well being of a new mother. If she is compounding your problems, best thing is for her to leave. Find yourself a maid if you can afford one.

Secondly, I recommend that you pump and feed. Sometimes the burden of baby latching on you may not make you feel better and can be stressful. My mum in law gave me this advise in the first few weeks my baby was born. She would stay awake at night to feed the baby whatever milk I pump during the day so I could sleep. After some time when my milk was not coming out as much, I did supplementing with formula.

Explain to both hubby and mum in law that pediatricians have recommended formulas for a reason and you are not feeling too well breastfeeding.

So sorry again about your situation because this should be happy times for you and your hubby. You can also try to add some prayer to it.
