I agree with most of what you said, but Idowu?? Granted, I THINK Idowu would have fared well against a team like Lesotho.

Idowu has faired well in gwg. Even against the almighty Argentina at the world cup.

What people have against him is offensive side of his game but I think he is still better than Collins in that area.

However, I want a natural LB in that position.

Yes but Aina's time with Torino may have improved him. I hardly focus on past. I'm looking at the present.

somehow:

We will see ke?

He has been tested there against stronger teams, hence the emergence of Colins

Enroute Russia 2018

Have you forgotten?

Ajayi can still score as a CB

While they were celebrating they didn't realize Tomori is now officially gone!

The boy comes in on the 83rd minute. Bye bro! God's Blessings!

No suprises there.

Most of us removed Tomori from our minds with regards to the SE a long time ago. Even if he wasn't capped today, he would've still waited for another call. He's a Chelsea first teamer, he knows has a strong claim to the three lions.

Boy made it clear long ago he wants to play for the Queen. We can only wish him good luck. No hard feelings.

Like I would always say., keep your benchwarmers on their toes so they don't get too comfortable in bench. Same applies to the regular starters. When you realize as a starter, losing your position means you could be out of the team completely in no time, you will give your 100% anytime you manage to wear that shirt. As soon as a deserving player is spotted, a player who has performed quite consistently for a period, he should be called up to replace a regular benchwarmer. This would promote a culture of excellence in the long run. Watch how our boys would be playing just before the world cup.

spot on !

defensively he is suspect to me. I don't even know what's Idowu's best position. Since the Argie friendly game I've hardly been impressed with him. He reminds me of a versatile Etebo in this regard. But the latter, I can at least identify his strengths. He is good at ball holding/dribbling.
Collins is not a bad player though. But we want excellence. The good thing is that we have options to consider in makeshifts. Looking for a pure lefty LB will be "hard". We can't have what we don't have unless we want to give the local boys a try.. haha.. Over to Rohr

Nigeria grabbed their second AFCON 2021 qualifier victory on Sunday after beating Lesotho 4-2.

Allnigeriasoccer.com rounds up the performance of every of the Super Eagles player in action thus :

The Starters

Goalkeeper

Daniel Akpeyi: Caught unawares by Masoabi's early header but was composed otherwise and even bailed out his team on a couple if sloppy occasions. (7/10)

Defenders

William Troost-Ekong: Ably contained the Lesotho attackers and took no prisoners in his defending. (7/10)

Semi Ajayi: Reacted rather poorly after the cross leading to the conceded goal was put in, and was a false start on that note. Grew into the game as it went on and posted an assured display. Got in the book. (6/10)

Ola Aina: Yet another eye-catching showing from Aina. Astute defensively and was pacy both going up against the opposition and tracking back. Teed up Osimhen with a great assist. Based on his last two games for the Super Eagles, Aina has matured into a player with international quality. (8.5/10)

Chidozie Awaziem: Was a bit shaky. He inadvertently diverted into his own goal in the closing minutes. (5.5/10)

Midfielders

Wilfred Ndidi: Led the early press and saw a couple of shots fired wide. Held sway in the middle of the park as always. (7/10)

Joe Aribo: Had a quiet game and wasn't eager to join his mates in the attacking forays. Dropped back and kept passes rather simple. (6/10)

Alex Iwobi: Pulled his team level with a precise finish and set the pace for what could have been a difficult game for the Eagles. Showed flashes of his brilliance as their attacking verve took centre stage in Maseru. (8/10)

Attackers

Moses Simon: Stung Lichaba's palms with a long range drive and was a willing runner through the flank. Replaced by Samuel Kalu. (6.5/10)

Samuel Chukwueze: Dazzled on the right flank and was a nightmare on the break. Dropped in behind the Lesotho defence to score a top-drawer header. (7/10)

Victor Osimhen: Simply a five star display from the striker. Had the duo of Basia Makepe and Bokang Sello on the ropes for much of the game. Pinged in two assists for his teammates before joining the act with two great goals. (10/10)

The Substitutes

Ahmed Musa: Had few scraps to work on but his sharpness was glaring to see. (5/10)

Ramon Azeez: Looked a lot more adventurous after replacing Aribo and will pick out Osimhen with a nicely placed assist. (7/10)

Samuel Kalu: Showed his usual drive and trickery after his introduction but there was too little space as Lesotho retreated. (5/10)
2 back to back matches for Akpeyi with good rating and no errors from him.

Interesting

Etebo's absence remains the reason for the manner at which we concede goals.

He is the missing link. He has improved a lot in his game. He should be ahead in the pecking order, followed closely by Ramon Azeez and then Aribo. Aribo is a decent player no doubt.

Omeruo and Balogun are still our best defenders. They bring a lot of maturity and stability.

Etebo and Azeez ahead of Aribo?......... undecided

The moment he honored the call up to England, I considered him gone. Or would he have refused if was subbed in that debut call up?

Also ,in my opinion, Eze is as good as gone if he rather prefers making it more difficult to commit to Nigeria.

Rewatch the match against Argentina at the world cup then you will accept he is better than Collins defensively.

Okoroji is a natural LB. Rohr should try him out.

Another player i would have suggested is Uduokhai but I don't know his situation regarding playing for us.

The future is bright for Nigerian football. Never have we had it as exciting as this where we have a quality 1st and 2nd eleven.
Rohr must seize this opportunity and harness these exciting players for better results and delievery. He must give opportunity for Dennis, Okereke, Olayinka and Ejuke to also contribute their own quota. And when we finally cap Eze, the world will know we have arrived.

Hope you are not saying we have arrived because of eze?

Capping eze or not will not stop us from going higher

I THINK ROHR SHOULD STAY UNTIL 2022 WORLD CUP.
THAT WAY HE WILL BUILD A STRONG TEAM
HE HAS TRIED AND HE AT LEAST HAS SOMETHING TO OFFER
WE SHOULD JUST WORK ON THE FACT THAT HE SHOULD LIVE IN NIGERIA
AND TRY AND USE HOME BASED PLAYERS.
LET US LEAVE HIM AS COACH
I WANT TO KNOW PEOPLE'S OPINION ON THIS.
SHOULD ROHR STAY UNTIL 2022 WORLD CUP OR LEAVE NEXT YEAR
I PERSONALLY BELEIVE HE SHOULD STAY AS THE ADVANTAGES
ARE MORE THAN THE DISADVANTAGES.
HE SEEMS TO BE BUILDING A STRONG TEAM THAT CAN DOMINATE AFRICAN
AND WORLD FOOTBALL FOR SOME TIME TO COME
