What does the maroon beret signify in naf ?

Passed an airborne jump course, this is what it signifies in all armies around the world. I wouldn't think it will be different in the NAF. Maroon beret is the traditional colour of airborne troops who have done the necessary jumps to get their wings.

The Army don really vex o grin

*PRESS RELEASE*

*NIGERIAN ARMY TROOPS SUBDUE BOKO HARAM CRIMINALS RESCUE AN OCTOGENARIAN AND OTHER INNOCENT CITIZENS*

In their reinvigorated drive to end the insurgency in the North East, Nigerian Army troops have continued to sustain the tempo of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency operations in the North East with a view to decimating and destroying the remnant Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) criminals across the Operation LAFIYA DOLE Theatre. In one of the numerous operations conducted across the Theatre today, 16 November 2019, troops of 26 Task Force Brigade embarked on a Clearance Patrol to Dalu Village within the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State following credible intelligence report on the presence of some of the criminal insurgents in that area. Fortunately, the report was confirmed as the troops soon established contact with the marauding terrorists and effectively subdued them with their superior fire power during the ensuing fire fight. Subsequently, the troops proceeded to thorough clear the Village of the presence of the criminal insurgents. The clearance operation yielded good dividends as the troops found and rescued an octogenarian, 3 women and 4 children hitherto held captives by the criminal insurgents. The rescued victims were promptly evacuated and children among them were equally administered with Polio Vaccination by a Nigerian Army medical team. Interestingly, no causality was recorded by own troops during the commando operations. However, many of the Boko Haram criminal elements were observed to have fled in disarray towards the summit of Mandara Mountains with gunshot wounds.
The troops’ resilience and doggedness are unwavering as further exploitation to complete the annihilation of the insurgents is being sustained in the mountainous environment.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai wishes to reassure the general public of the resolve of the Nigerian Army to continue to execute our constitutional mandate professionally and responsively for a better secured Nigeria. He also thanks all well-meaning Nigerians for their continued support, goodwill and understanding towards officers and men of the Nigerian Army as they sustain the conduct of various operations and routine exercises nationwide.

You are kindly requested to disseminate above information to the general public for their awareness. Thank you for your usual cooperation.

I'm guessing they must have all passed the airborne course and completed the required jumps to wear the beret.

Say, for example, you got to work and recall that you never turned off your cooking gas.

Will you pray that your house doesn't burn down and continue with work or you go back home and turn off the gas?

Here is plenty Sahel issues info from USAID humanitarian operations, including latest update from last week Friday =

https://www.usaid.gov/crisis/sahel

https://www.devex.com/news/usaid-expands-presence-in-sahel-as-instability-grows-96039

Remember, USAID is more like an IGO but partners wit many NGOs. So u can work wit USAID directly or tru any of it's many NGO partners. U will apply tru their websites, u hav 2 go on internet, open each IGO & NGO official website, go 2 menu page 4 Careers or Jobs or Hiring or Volunteer or Openings. Type in country u can work and other specifications dat will narrow down d job vacancies 2 d ones relevant 2 u. Then u apply wit C.V. online, and if any has phone numbers, email addresses, u can freely message dem asking dem 2 guide u 2 apply for temporary job in your region. Like I said, I can't promise they will hire u, but I am sure people hav got jobs there dis way.

There are certain things within our control and there are certain things outside our control. Understanding the differences between the two will help us make better choices.

If you're travelling for instance, make sure your car and your mind are in prime condition. Obey the road rules etc. These are within your control.

However, what is outside your control is the state of the road you will be travelling across (as in the case of Nigeria and other third world countries.) Also, the state of mind of other road users, the condition of their cars etc. All you have to do is hope that other road users will go through similar safety precautions you've gone through as well. (Mind you, hope is not the same as prayer. It's what you do after putting all the necessary effort in place).

Note: Taking all necessary safety measures is not an 100% guarantee that something terrible won't happen. One may just be unlucky. Although, it does help.

TLDR: Do what is right, I do what is right and hope for the best!

Isn't what u said is probabilistic in nature considering god is supposed to be 100% absolute factor for the believers.

And if prayer don't succed then blame who ?
God ?

Or the individual himself for not praying enough ?

If wish don't succeed the individual got nobody to put the blame on except himself , he takes it as a event among the billions of seemingly random yet interconnected events happening every second.

All this comes into the domain of believe - a inherent human nature to have positive thoughts about themselves and their endeavours.

Religions exploit it as prayers ( eg. prayers /blessings get stronger with monetary offers / service etc etc )

Why would a god, if it is there interfere for whatsoever reason given that all creatures have physically and mentally the necessary attributes suiting their functions during their evolution as a species and social / behavioural evolution as an individual of a species , any event during the pursuit of the same is dependent on hundreds or thousands or billions of factors arising in the course of a small time scale like hours to large scale like millions of years.

Eg. Say u decided to take a stroll by the Chappal Waddi mountain side , u prayed that u have a pleasant day there. grin

millions of years ago due to tectonic activity a basalt rock out crop formed on the Chappal Waddi mountain. Due to erosion over millions of years the top piece of it got weakened from its outcrop.

Unfortunately for u as you walked by the very moment the rock fell on u due to micro seismic quake and send u on ur merry way to the alleged abode of the angels ( preferably pretty females grin )

So now who is responsible ?

The tectonic activity millions of years ago which led to this ?

The erosion that happened over millions of years , the wind , the sun , the rain ?

The mountain ?

The boulder which squashed u ?

The micro quake event that happened ?

U who decided to take a walk ?

Or god ?

If God , then it must have planned ur death millions of years ago because the initial chain of event started with the tectonic activity that led to the formation of basalt outcrop , and lo it did not stop at that he sent the wind, the sun, the rain over a period of millions of years to lead to ur eventual demise with a last minute well time micro seismic quake. Even ants don't generally die due to micro seismic quake .

Wow God must really hate u or ur prayers grin

Prayer is a very poor substitute for positive thinking . Ironically If one were to think pragmatically, one would realise all over the world the business of prayer ( via religious institutions / representatives ) increases the benifits ( power , money , luxuries ) of the religious institutions / representatives rather than the individual itself . Funny if u think about it, guess who is being taken for a ride here wink

If a praying individual gets saved god ( in real life religious institutions / individuals ) wins.
If a praying individual dies then also god wins .

So both time god ( rather its self appointed representatives ) win grin

Isn't it ?

Anyways

I apologise for trying to kill u by a boulder grin

I was thinking of trying to kill u with a avalanche but then realised how much u love snow grin

Among tigers in a perticular area in a forest there is always a alpha male who sets the rules for its benifits at the expense of the others

Similarly

Among humans if we take religion / economy / politics / etc as individual areas in the larger human world ( as a species ) we will realise there are alpha's ( individuals / groups ) who set the rules for its own benifits at the expense of the others

Think about it if u want

Food chain might be good analogy for the above incase it is difficult to understand.
