Thanks a lot. smiley

Hello Orlarshaynee,

To the first bolded, your observation is absolutely correct. That time frame was before IRCC made secondary verification after PPR mandatory. In most cases, a submitted passport could stay beyond 2wks or more, depending the case.

To the second bolded, congratulations. You scaled through the secondary verification.

Congratulations!

Thank you so much for your reply
JustMellow:

Hello Sammyfrance23,

Your CGPA isn't too bad to secure a funding for a Master programme. However, the GPA of your last 2yrs in your UG studies counts a lot. However, what really matters in securing funding are:

1. Securing a supervisor

2. A well constructed research statement about your research interest.

3. A good reference letter

4. Having publications is a plus.

You can check Memorial University, University of Victoria, Brocks University, University of Waterloo.

Good luck.

Same here, deferred because of delay tho. What course ?

MissMichelleA:
Hi. I got admission for Winter 2020. My visa application is still being processed though.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by benque: 4:46pm On Nov 18, 2019
Wow so sorry to hear this. Was rooting for you. My advise will be to defer and apply in January

MissMichelleA:
Well my refusal just came in today.
Reasons: Family ties in Canada and at home, 'limited employment opportunities in my country of residence' (WTF does that even mean? I read information technology BTW and there are a ton of IT start-ups popping up everywhere.) and current employment situation (I finished NYSC and started applying to schools immediately, didn't get a job interim because my parents thought it would be too stressful juggling school applications because I'm SS).

I just got correspondence letter and am really worried. I can't even tell my husband because he will be sad but I am not giving up on anything and still believe a miracle. I B.tech in Quantity Surveying and MSC in construction management or I applied for Global management diploma certificate. Family ties are my 4kids n hubby. Personal account 3.5m though it was paid in twice. Am into businesses so don't hv an office job. Hubby is my sponsor with opening balance 65m closing 61m. We co own the company. What do you think is wrong with my application?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Orlarshaynee: 8:01pm On Nov 18, 2019
I still haven’t received mine yet. I haven’t received the mail saying it is ready for pick up. I will likely contact them by Wednesday, if no update.

You seem leave out the part were students are getting fraudulent letter of admissions. Even going as far as making up a name of an institution that does not exist in canada.

As much as we want to blame the Canadian embassy, we as prospective students are the problem. When thing's like this continue to happen, it makes the whole process hard for other people.

I wasn't blaming anyone neither did I write the article. It was written by the Vancouver News in Canada.

I only shared it as it pointed reasons for some refusal. If you read it well, you would have seen it there. There was a mention of suspicion of people's intent which can be linked to fraudulent application. This act also affect innocent people, hence it contribute to the high refusal rate.

Good morning all, I hold a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree(cgpa 6.03/7) since 2017. Currently interested in a thesis-based masters degree in the neuroscience aspects of kinesiology, rehabilitation science for the fall, 20220 term. I’ve sent over 20 letter of interests to prospective supervisors in over 8 schools in the last two months. Got ten replies so far of which:
Five of them are not currently accepting students due to having a full lab
One is retiring next year, tho, he’s referred me to a colleague
A late application to a Lab at UAlberta
One currently on sabbatical but promised to look into it
Two rejected on the basis of not having an engineering background.

I’m currently fed up so I guess I’ll just wait to hear from others and then maybe reapply to those labs next year. What do you guys think? I’d send a draft of my intent letter to anyone who’s willing to help

I regret to hear your cousin's application was rejected. However I would demand you share a detailed breakdown of the list of documents that were submitted with her previous refused application. What's her intended program, her current job role and previous undegraduate studies. This will help us pinpoint some of the mistakes made in her application.

It shall end in praises.

Bro
Good day,
I have been checking the school memorial university of Newfoundland, and their requirements are a bit high, I am going there for an MBA, so I want to ask if they really need the 2 years experience and referrals from academic staffs?? Or can we talk on WhatsApp or by mail?.
A response will be highly appreciated thank you.
Halifaxguy:

Many Canadian universities and colleges accept Neco. But you have to provide a scratch card.

I graduated from Memorial university of Newfoundland and I do remember using my Neco SSCE for the admission process.

She's very young and are chances of getting a study visa is great. I think you didn't do justice in her SOP, --- Why she is going for undegraduate studies in Canada as well as home ties that would compel her return home after studies. In her case, you don't need to order for her gcms notes. Simply write a 2 pages letter that will tackle the reasons highlighted by the visa officer and reapply. This time, endavour to contact any of the knowledgeable gurus here to help vet the letter before you submit the application the second time.

It shall end in praises.

Hello Ivygive,

Part of the contributing issue in your application is your choice program. Going for a Diploma after both a B.sc and an M.sc instead of a Ph.D. Also, your study plan didn't do enough justice on why your program of interest, hence purpose of vist. Sadly enough, this application didn't scale through.

However, if you have done a medical upfront or upon request and passed, then anything is possible.

All the best.
