Most people will advice you against marrying from a broken home. They will say don't take a wife from a broken home, don't take a Man from a broken home.
Some people have been lucky while others have not been so fortunate.

For some people, coming from a broken or dysfunctional Family inspires them to give their best in relationships so history doesn't repeat itself..

Some people are bitter and resentful as a result of the experiences they harbour within. Family rejections, domestic violence, parental divorce and even monetary intimidation from a partner to another....

What am I trying to say? Some people have gone through this and are willing to build a better home while some are still dealing with the baggage and can't function properly in any relationship..

Just choose your demon and handle it.

My mother in-law was divorced from her polygamous husband. That count as a broken home?

There was no negative effect of that in our relationship and has been none in our marriage.

No matter what situation a person grew up in, one can and should always learn to remove negative baggage from one's life.

Let's do away with all these, to each his/ her own.
I lost a dear cousin to a related case like this.
The husband was maltreating her and always telling her that she will remarry like her mother. Instead for her to jejely leave, she stayed put.

Her mother saw it coming but she couldn't do anything cos her daughter won't even let her. She was ready to bear it all

Nairaland females and Nigerian ladies, moving forward, try to encourage and nurture your men to learn how to handle issues responsibly.

Also, teach women self defense so you dont consider or make them helpless in Nigerian marriages. This fatalistic mindset is somehow annoying.
