When some people cry "Dangote this, Dangote that" ... here is another successful businessman that started from an humble beginning from making motorcycles parts to manufacturing vehicles. If not for the "waked" mentality of Nigerians and obnoxious taste for foreign products, this man should be on the Forbes list by now. Imagine the huge Nigerian market. I learn there are about 12 million units of vehicles on Nigeria roads. A market share of 25% alone by Innoson will have huge impact on the company and also help boost quality of cars manufactured. And then over 1 billion African market. If Nigerians refuse to purchase a car manufactured by a Nigerian company, how would other Africans buy the vehicles.

Absolute garbage. You cannot be a Nigerian-owned company and a Chinese-owned company at the same time in the absence of a merger or joint venture. We know of no such arrangements with Innoson. You must be new to how big business operates.

I would say this new plant is absolutely fantastic, and is another indicator that Nigeria is fully on the path to industrialisation.

A few years ago on this forum, this development would have been discussed as a Nigerian achievement far and above an 'Igbo' achievement. I think the emphasis on ethnicity diminishes us. Grow up, gentlemen. The rest of the world sees us as just 'Nigerians'.

they cant do that because there are other assembly plants in Nigeria. What they should do is pass a law banning the purchase of imported vehicles by govt agencies if there is an alternative assembled/made in Nigeria.
