A serviced apartment for 400k?

For a year? You have to share the location of that SERVICED apartment. The owner is far too kind.

On the mainland... Ajao Estate.

Lol... No loud am, before them go change their mind.

I would advice that since you earn N50K, go for a room or self contain that's less than N100k per annum. never spend more than your 2 months salary on rent.

grin Seriously. I'm just seeing 500k, 800k as someone's salary. Bachelor for that matter.

If it was self employment, I go understand. Well, they know better.

You think and execute just like me.
I have never lived in an apartment that my one month pay can't cover.

When i was earning 70k, i shared a SC with a colleague and the rent then was 110k, my share was 55k.
Later i got a job that paid 250k and moved to a 2BR of 240k- 20k/month... Got married there and moved to a bigger apartment but always ensured i kept it below or at par with my 1 month pay.
Now I and my lovely wife live in a 35k/month 3BR and as always it's far below my monthly take home.
Make i no go work all year round for landlord.

My advice to the guy is to stay put where he currently is till his take home improves considerably.

I don't work for anyone, this year i learnt some skills and earn more than $2k/$4k monthly on my online business, so getting a good fully furnished apartment isn't a biggie to me.

Go and hustle instead of being a slave for a moderfvcker.

I'm thinking of taking the bold step of moving out of my host's place and secure my own place, but the challenge is that, I'm not earning much at the moment (around 50k) .

I will like to hear from fellow Nairalanders, share your experience please. What are the challenges and benefits that come with living alone?
PS: I'm not comfortable here.
Diversify your income streams. The earlier the better .. With Nigerians inflation currently rising, 50k will soon not be enough for a 3 square meal

Good day all,

Please help a brother, as being in need of a place to stay within Lagos mainland due to where I stay got flooded. And, I don't have enough money to run a full rent package at the moment.

Please, I appreciate joint rent.

This applies as what I consider

* You have a rented place and you plan moving out to another place BTW Nov and Dec

* You need a roommate to share the rent bills with

* Rent without agent and commission(i.e 3500 or 3k monthly)

God bless you as you put a smile on my face.

Check your lifestyle. I went broke because of my lifestyle at a time and ever since then I vowed never to be broke again. How did I do it; 1. I stopped doing relationships, 2. I buy only what I need and not what I want 3. I vowed not to change my lifestyle to my taste even if I earn more. 4. I figure out where my money is going before I release it. 5. I vowed never to spend my raw cash again on necessary things but profit from investment. 6. I don't give out my money for no reason aside charity 7. I don't borrow people money, I ain't no bank. 8. I drank less( alcohol and beverages) only water please or free drinks. 9. I lived below my means( I decide to stay in mushin when I can afford to live in surulere, though I have moved now. 10. I kept less friends. 11. I became an introvert( very difficult but I just had to). 12 I became very stingy. ( Very rich men are very stingy). Do just 3 of these twelve things and you will be surprised how much you will be able to save in a year.

Thanks. Will Implement immediately

some of you here actually have no real need moving to am apartment.

Most of y'all simply moved out because y'all needed private spaces to Fu--ck on a regular basis nothing More!

when you should have hanged back in, saved some money and bought your first landed property at a young age.

But because you need freedom to always be laying Chics you ran out, so society can label you a Boss or a Man because you rented a flat.

Imagine someone saying he paid rent of 200k ontop 50k salary, I am certain it's because of societal appraisal.

#30% of your income is the financial advice, anything more than 30% of your annual income you are living beyond your means!

Someone of 80k salary shouldn't be in a house above 240k rent

To each his own, wetin concern me....

SirToothBrush:
for a man, some of the challenges that comes with living alone are.
1. You get to pay your light bills, water bill health bill and security expenses yourself. Unlike when you lived with your parent and it was all free
2. If you are not married, you may end up feeding your unemployed friends who show up at to your crib to play Playstation.
3. If you are an eligible Bachelor, female folks will trove around you. (very few men knows how to handle this situation)
3. It becomes very hard to pick and hold just a single female. And it's always hard to know the genuine one.
4. The urge to start building your own house arises in the 9th month into your rent. Since your landlord had hinted you on increments in rent grin
the exact problem I am facing. Especially the bills, I pay for electricity, water, waste, security. I didn't even know those bills existed while living with my parents

40,000. I got a small apartment for N250,000 from my savings before i got married and moved out.

I could afford the apartment because i did side jobs. And these side jobs finally turned to my main hustle
