Good evening senior mamas in the house. Please I'm a FTM and in my first tri. I use to feel pain on my butt. It comes and goes and when it comes, it sometimes make walking difficult. Is this normal and what can I do about it? I haven't started antenatal yet so I've not talked to any doctor about it. Your responses will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Good evening mamas am not here to quote anybody but to emphasize on doing what works for you during pregnancy, concerning this cold water issue, when I was pregnant mine came with spitting, has a teacher I carried my spit bottle to class, so I could teach, there was a particular senior class that the spitting didn't go down well with them, they love me yes but couldn't stand me teaching and every seconds spitting, so they always gave me things to chew but the issue with my spitting is the more I chew anything the more the spit increases, a particular day in class a student offered me ice cream and it did the magic at least in that class the spitting reduced. so if am going to that class those children will just set ice cream down for me because they don't want to see me spit, before I finish the class i would have sipped 3 fan yoghurt then when I get to the staffroom my spitting continues or doubles ganself so just listen to your body and do what works for you, there was a time during the pregnancy if I don't drink coke in a day my body will vex, did that till The day I gave birth, just do you it might be wrong for another person but right for you

Yea,as long as no pain and the diarrhea is not severe.Her body is getting ready for the baby to come out.she should still increase her water intake.safe delivery

u c dt first trimester ehn.... Anything u r experiencing just tk it as it comes... As far as u aint bleedin n scan said d baby is fine.... All u gat 2 do is relax n takia of ursef as diff preggy symptoms shows up.... U c dt butt pain na small tin compare 2 wat oda preggy mamas including me went tru.

If the doc is recommending a Pelvimetry xray because hes already suspecting that your pelvis is too small, don't bother wasting your time or money doing the xray and also risk exposing the baby to radiation. Just opt for a cesarean section.

I have a question: are you short/small in stature? If this is the case and docs assessment need xray to confirm don't waste your time just do an elective cs.

we went to see her dr on monday and also did scan, her dr said she might just give birth any moment from now my fear is that my ds is not full term yet. we are first time parent

I had it in my last pregnancy. Its no cause for alarm, you will be given a cloth to cover your body ( to prevent rays from entering your body i guess) and you will be given something like a ruler to put in between your thighs. This is where the ray will read your pelvic length if its adequate for VD or not. Doesn't even take up to 5 minutes to get it done. I did it about 10k in 2017.

The ray does not come close to the baby. Its just to measure your pelvic length and width. Hence the name pelvimentry

The barrier apron reduces the radiation exposure but does not eliminate it. They even make you sign a disclaimer. Note also that the xray apparently has not been a proven solution to the pelvic measurement as most women that do the procedure usually still have a CS.

I only told her i did it with my last pregnancy as prescribed by a consultant Ob/Gyn since she's asking for clarification. Its from my own experience i replied. Not forcing her to go and do it, it her choice and that's why i added the price just so she can weigh her options herself.

So you think if it is totally dangerous to your baby, doctor will still allow people go through it? Am sure that reduced ray baby will be "exposed to" isn't beyond the threshold.

I have someone who was asked to do it, it showed her pelvis was inadequate and at the end of the day labour came before the elective cs date and gave birth thru V.D so what?

hello I had this in my first trimester, I couldn’t walk properly. It was really a pain in the butt. I didn’t do anything, it left on it’s own around week 11. I didn’t have morning sickness or anything else, It’s just that butt pain.

pelvimetry is usually recommended for ftms to know if they can have VD. But according to what I read online, pelvimetry isn't an accurate way to measure the pelvic bone, because the the pelvic bone will stretch when contractions starts. Are you a ftm? there are mamas here that have also done it before. I think you should read more about it online and decide which you want. How many weeks are you mama?

When I had my 1st I was told to do the same. But didn't end up doing it and had my baby tru VD.
Your doctor wants to know if your pelvis Is wide enough for your baby's head to pass tru, but from what I read online then, your body adjusts during labour even if the x-ray says otherwise and pregnant women should be allowed a trial of labour regardless of pelvimetry result.
Maybe you should find out from your doctor why he wants you to do it, or seek 2nd opinion to be sure.
