izzou: This right here. We don't have a maid at home.there was a period when I was under serious pressure juggling chores, job and side hustle. You wash dishes, do laundry. It is a never ending cycle. You do a design for three hours, you get paid 350k. You do housework for three hours, you get nothing. You quickly learn about directing energy into what actually brings in money. 2 Likes |

izzou: Be very afraid. People say Chinese are wicked, evil slavers, but that is just their work ethic. Oyibo will still worry small about bad press and stock market. Chinese are almost all backed by their government and don't give a fk about bad press or complaining workers 2 Likes |

izzou: No one is being emotional Sir. However, I am only trying to drive home some points. Some take driving as side hustle while others take it as a full time business. It's just an individual thing. No let's look at it this way, we are all striving to make ends meet through whatever legitimate way we can afford to make that happen. Hence, we venture into different trades, starting with the courses we were offered at the university, which might even not be the dream course we wanted to do, but for not wasting time at home, we decided to take on those courses and graduate with whatever results we got, landed a job we could with the result and got paid as much as we could get. Now, if we decide tomorrow to seek for alternative/side hustle which can complement or supplement what we earn from our current job, do you feel it will be bad to quit the former job and go full-time into the one we see as side hustle? Like I said, it's an individual thing. You have your dreams and aspirations, others have theirs. Mine might be that I want to become a great I.T professional known globally, the other person might just want to be known as a billionaire, also known globally. So I might see uber as a means to getting financial support to sponsor my professional courses in ICT, whereas someone else will be thinking on how to improve on the services uber offer and use that to develop his own platform. The sister who is an accountant can have a breakthrough in the clothing line and decide to further her trade in that line of and quit her job if she sees a better prospect and income flow in that line of business, especially if she feels she also has this thing for fashion and designing. Well, we are all here to learn and contribute. What do I know? (in the voice of radautoworks) 2 Likes |

cindybaby22: My job pays me 200k / month My side hustle gives me 500k / month I am not going anywhere in my job, so I am investing in certifications and training. These are not a guarantee of anything, other than hope. Unless my side hustle is not sustainable, why should I continue to burn my energy on a job, when I can burn it on a side hustle and move to the next level? What i am inferring is that you can afford to do this because your job is not taking your energy per se. 3 Likes |

izzou: One can always decide when they start and when they close for the day. I have an on going program I am running and driving on uber won't stop me from doing that. With good time management one can plan ways to accommodate other activities which they feel will take them to where they are aiming at. 3 Likes |

izzou: If you burn 10 kilocalories on job a and you get 30k You burn 20 kilocalories on job b and you get 15k Where do you think you should burn your kilocalories? Everyday people shout be your own boss, don't work for anyone. This lady has stumbled on a hustle that will bring in money but she continues to chase career. ajoks533: You are explaining all what was said before If you go to Lagos Island(Oke Arin), and you see those old women who carry loads on their head. If you tell the woman that she can earn a better living instead of carrying this, have you insulted her hustle? Uber is really good. A life saver. Uber has helped me in the past. But if someone tells me "izzóu, let's think of an idea that will help us make more money on uber and we will drive less", what is wrong in that? Do you understand my view now? 9 Likes |

ornicus: I use the proceeds of my uber driving to fund my career that doesn't bring anything tangible, and then I call it self development If my uber driving was more profitable and had a better future, why am I developing something that doesn't bring anything tangible? izzou: There’s nothing emotional about my posts. By all means, do whatever works for you. Your friend that’s dropping the hustle entered for the wrong reasons and so has to exit in no time. If the thing fits your plan, then go ahead, if not move on. Don’t come and start saying bla bla bla. You are seeing driving as a side thing that eats up all your time and what not. I ask you what thing pays that doesn’t take time? You want to eat your cake and have it? Uber/bolt pays one of the best hourly rate in the country. So tell me why can’t one take it as a full time hustle? No employer will fault you for putting uber/bolt as an experience on your CV. They’ll only just overlook it if it’s not relevant to them. There are ways you’d construct the CV narrating the JD. Point is if you already have the defeated mindset about anything, then you’ll hardly make headway. 8 Likes |

ornicus: You are not the one to tell her what to do. She has her plans and also her dreams.. Like I said earlier, some of us are just interested in the financial aspect of our hustles, while others are interested in being know for the things they do. She might want to be know as a great Accountant and maybe someday be the president of World Bank, while another person might just want to be another Dangote. 4 Likes |

ajoks533: Let me be cruel and blunt here. If she was destined to be some sort of super accountant, she would be in one of the big four firms. She would be in a firm that pays for her training. She would not have the time for any side hustle, particularly a hustle that is not tied to her technical competence. |

izzou:So if you go for an interview let's say "customer care position" which is one among the most outsourced position in the USA right now and you have experience partnering with Uber for like 4yrs and which is verifiable even with comments from riders you think the white man won't give you the job Black man mentality is so low. Listen, no experience we human encounter in life is a waste. Value ever opportunity that comes your way because it will build you for your tomorrow 10 Likes |
