You are explaining all what was said before

If you go to Lagos Island(Oke Arin), and you see those old women who carry loads on their head. If you tell the woman that she can earn a better living instead of carrying this, have you insulted her hustle?

Uber is really good. A life saver. Uber has helped me in the past. But if someone tells me "izzóu,
let's think of an idea that will help us make more money on uber and we will drive less", what is wrong in that?

Do you understand my view now?

For the sake of peace, please no one should quote or attack ornicus or nigriti again over the forgotten argument and please, both of you could take the path of peace by not replying to abusive mentions.
May we all be successful in our hustles and careers.
Thanks.

My job pays me 200k / month
My side hustle gives me 500k / month

I am not going anywhere in my job, so I am investing in certifications and training. These are not a guarantee of anything, other than hope.

Unless my side hustle is not sustainable, why should I continue to burn my energy on a job, when I can burn it on a side hustle and move to the next level?

What i am inferring is that you can afford to do this because your job is not taking your energy per se.

Make una help me look into my condition and advice ma na
Hmm, my brother your situation I'll say is critically critical but yet, not too bad.

This is my advice for you. Cease that opportunity you uncle gave you. No be uncle you call am? My wife will say, "family no dey carry family member go court say family member own them money". Meaning you won't be under pressure remitting money to your uncle. Notwithstanding, it doesn't mean you shouldn't or you can't.

You can plan your week. Let me teach you how.
Every morning set your destination to your work place using bolt/uber, I use bolt for this and it works perfectly for me. All I do is wait while I carry out one or two once the request comes in off I kiss my wife n my baby in the chick, off I go. Do likewise when coming back home. You must have generated money for you fuel probably for 3-4days on one trip. Mind you you're no more spending tp going to office.
If you're a marketer in your office, Good one for you. I've seen several of them doing uber same time marketing.
OK, your Mondays thru Friday.lets say you live-in agege take for instance, and u work in d island. Setting ur destination to n fro Mon -Fri you must have catch out nothing less than 25k-30k net income @3k min/trip. i.e u must have done say 10trips in 5days. You can even decide to work within d island till 9pm daily so when the 3rd MLB traffic has gone down you start coming home using your last set destination.
With that you could have made let's say 2-3k.

OK, to the week ends, I'm sure it's not every week ends you monitor ATM, Saturdays and Sunday's will then be your major work days. Trust me brother, you'll be able to get 25k to pay up. Any month you can't meet up maybe due to car breakdown add income from your salary.

My guy, don't quit your job for a career or hustle you have no experience on oh... Hold unto what you have at hand while you work on your new prospect and when you're sure you see glances of light at the end of the tunnel then you can decide what is best for you. And in conclusion, embrace and accommodate every opportunity because you never can say where your luck lies.

NB: contact employees are not entitled to car loans so see this as an opportunity for you to own a car of your own.

My two cent. Wish you best of luck

If you trip is with uber guy just related with rider politely, don't argue, collect anything rider offers you. Pull over to a comfortable place, go offline then report the issue encountered to uber using the help button. Trust me you're covered using uber.

But if na Bolt you dey use guy, communicate with rider politely as well but if rider won dey do anyhow brotherly wear go to your but pick up your boxing glooves and get ready for fight. Bolt no go answer you complaining to them o.

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h in 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with Tempo Mach 2 appears.
The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus flight, boring flight isn’t it? Take care and have a look here!”

He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, only to swoop down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, "Well, how was that?"

The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but now have a look here!"

The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly stubbornly straight, with the same speed. After five minutes, the Airbus pilot radioed, "Well, what are you saying now?"

The jet pilot asks confused: "What did you do?" The other laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, went to the back of the flight to the bathroom, got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon cake and made an appointment with the stewardess for the next three nights - in a 5 Star hotel, which is paid for by my employer. "

The moral of the story is:
When you are young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, comfort and peace are not to be despised either.
This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older, Smarter.

Dedicated to all my friends who like me likes the S.O.S. approach! ✈️

Thank you boss... Have learnt a lot from your advise
ajoks533:

Seriously bro... 60-70k per month is quite a huge money in the current Nigeria. It is also very little compared to the price of commodities in the market today.

In your situation, you don't have to the time to merge the two. So it's either going to be one for the other. You know what you want in life, if I were in your shoes, I will keep my fears aside, then take up the Ehailing line, as I will be making the money and at same time, have time for personal development.

Like I said 'if I were in your shoes', as I know Wat I am gunning for.

Just take your time, think over it, look at the future of both hustles and see the one that has a better 2moro say in 2yrs time.

NB, I wasted good 12yrs on a job as contract staff with the hope of getting a full engagement which never came. Rather, I was faced with 16 months of no pay (the lack of payment was not really fault of anybody) but I just realized I wasted 12yrs of my career because of crumbs.

So just check well.... Las las you will be alright if you make the right decision.

Thank you sir... I appreciate..I'm grateful for your response
Epphy:

Well it depends on your long term plans.

You can speak to your Uncle to let you start paying after a month as you get yourself acquitted to the hustle (or he helps with maintenance for the first 2-3 months). If you have some money in savings, it may help you when faced with little car issues

I would advise you to merge the two for the time being and if you can't cope after like a month or two (you may have to use your salary to complement payments at times) you gat two options -

1. Resign and face the hustle squarely.
2. Get a good driver on rental (I hope you find a good person) who remits say 30k to you weekly. Here, you are still in paid employment and have a car waiting to be fully yours after about 2 years+

Good luck in your decision!

Some riders you cannot satisfy them finish. Uber should allow us know who and who rated us and comments. How can I have cleaniness, level of service, conversation, driving and vehicle condition on my rating dashboard when nothing is wrong with the car. They expect you to be going to the car wash after every trip. Shior

Now that the shouting has died grin, can we move on?

What guerilla marketing approach can we adapt and change the narrative in this Uber, Ocar, Bolt trichotomy?

Of course, we can't outspend them, but we can leverage on the experiences here to create another David and Goliath scenario.

Are there vacuums to exploit or niches been neglected in this ehailing Royal rumble?

Do we look outside the box?

I doubt that guy worked at the level he always claims he did.
Always myopic and aggressive in his thoughts and words.
There is no work experience that is useless to any sensible prospective employer, forget the way people behave here,Africa is still in darkness.
"I drove on uber for 5yrs" a sensible employer is already reasoning like "if he was able to do uber for that long, means he can handle our diverse clientele well with their different peculiarities".
"I sold okrika under the bridge for 5 years" and he'll be like "this one has patience and can sit his ass down for long as entailed by this job"

Well said, if you meet an entrepreneur someone that built is business from scratch( a real C student, the left brain folks, not the analytical, Am perfectionist kind of people, the these is how it's done so therefore you must follow same procedure) they will see all these you just mentioned. You see must of the companies we apply to the interview are most done by an employee- if you know what i mean.

Also A cv and cover letter is your sells letter, your sells representative that you sent out to sell you. So it's your duty to know how to take the job you did and what you feel you learnt and present to the employer in such a way that it will look like you bringing value to the table.

You see we offering a service(driving on uber) we do customer service, customer relation, procurement, maintainance, partners relation, delivery, book keeping, budgeting, etc

The first two is grouped under emotional intelligence so if I decide to add that to my cv, I will write extensively about how these two has helped me develop my emotional intelligence and Interpersonal and intrapersonal skill.
