Nothing much about it except fun and the uniqueness of the digits as it can be remembered easily no matter how long the thread later turned out to be by the end of 2022 World cup because by then, Another thread with another 6 or more years projection would have emerged.

By the time "The Super Eagles Thread : The Dawn Of A New Era, AFCON 2021 and Qatar 2022" becomes the longest ever thread on Nairaland, The page would be of utmost importance since the other competing threads now

1. BB Naija and 2. Chelsea FC's thread would wind up the moment the next edition of BB Naija is on and Chelsea wins a major competition which is possible Sooner than latet

Bringing in ECHIEJILE into the discuss doesn't mean I am making him available for selection ooo. At all! That wasn't the case

But to buttress how much I rate COLLINS presently. That personally, COLLINS is at per with the retired average (or below average) left footed Left full back that ECHIEJILE was.

Well I consider rating COLLINS over and above ECHIEJILE as hyping though for they are of the same standard to me.

Bringing COLLINS and ECHIEJILE into one place certainly is not funny oo but simple objectivity is why. Unless he proves me otherwise with his future outings for NIGERIA. As that's always the yardstick I refer in rating both of them since they never or will ever play for the same clubs

Even if I have never watched any of his matches in Germany already, The end result of a club's performance is the reflection of the club's individual Player's input. That is why I always blame EMERY for ARSENAL's woes for Team selection rather than the results. (But he still cannot be excused because it is his deficiency in making the right selection that leads to the final poor output).

If COLLINS did had a decent 1st half, then his capitulation in the 2nd lead to his team's collapse because SANCHO really had a near perfect second half against him (COLLINS) since JADON was involved in 2 Goals for his team's come back as could be figured from the below

47' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 1, SC Paderborn 07 3. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Achraf Hakimi.

76' Attempt blocked. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) right footed shot from the right side of the box is blocked.

76' Attempt saved. Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) right footed shot from outside the box is saved in the top left corner. Assisted by Jadon Sancho.

80' Corner, Borussia Dortmund. Conceded by Jamilu Collins.

87' Attempt missed. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) right footed shot from the left side of the box is close, but misses the top right corner. Assisted by Axel Witsel.

90' + 2' Goal! Borussia Dortmund 3, SC Paderborn 07 3. Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) header from very close range to the high centre of the goal. Assisted by Jadon Sancho with a cross.

Yes COLLINS is decent as a Left footer competing with OLA AINA who is right footed until a better left footed full back comes into the frame of excellence like we used to have before now as great ambassadors. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

TheSuperNerd! Sweet sleep is my wishes

You should not say what you do not know. How you feel comfortable assessing a player based on a match you didn't watch, I would not understand.

Solace Chukwu said on Twitter after the first half that Jamilu effectively kept Sancho quiet. When I started watching after the score was 3-2, Sancho was playing from the left, away from Jamilu. And his cross for the third goal came from that side, not Jamilu's side.

No dey talk wetin you no see.

Why you no add Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanke to the list. Are they not English players of Nigerian origin again?

I did not Add Jordan Ibe because l spoke to him and his Jamaican step Dad. And they made it very clear about 3 years plus ago. They had no interest in playing for the SE.

It may be that Ibe has little or no input from his biological father and as such hasn't affinity for anything Nigerian.

With regards to Solanke my position is very clear he has no affinity with Nigeria and never will. So why would you then recommend him. Because l DID NOT and never have.

But obviously you have jumped on the bandwagon of those who loud noises and make spurious claims. Without actually establishing if there's any substance to those claims.

Now this is hard evidence

Hard evidence of what, might l ask

I watched the match.

When a team is poor they will spend the larger part of thier time defending. As a consequence the stats for clearances and blocks will go high. It's not a sign of quality if taken in context.

After the first half Dortmund woke up and peppered the goal of Paderborn. What the stats don't tell you is how many times Collins got beat. From my calculations on at at least 6/7 occasions he lost the ball. On a few it was actually taken off him. But the whole team was stuck in a desperate rear guard action in the second half. Last ditch clearances were being made all the time by the defenders. Consider this statistic 10 corners for Dortmund and just 2 for Padeborn that tells you were the ball was most of the match in the second half.

To be outstanding his team should have won the game. How do you not win after getting a 3nil lead at half time.

As a wing back you should be able to get up the field and put in some telling crosses. In the entire match l recalled him getting forward on three occasions. His so called assist is ambiguous because he passed the ball to his left winger Holtman who burned down the line beating the defender and nutmegging the goalkeeper. He essentially did everything himself.

So what's the hard evidence. In reality stats are indicative not conclusive. And someone here being outright delusional is misleading matters with falsehood. Even misrepresenting who who scored, why do people tell lies on a faceless forum to strengthen a non existent argument. I guess they are Superdelusuional.

Not forgetting he lost possession the most among Paderbon players. He had a good game in terms of tackles and interceptiondbut he lost the ball so much coming forward it became annoying.

Exactly

I watched the game and after reading the comments here. I began to wonder if l watched a different game, and l had my eyes on Collins most of the match l felt Hakimi gave Collins a torrid time leaving Collins for dead on a few occasions.

Collins has poor recovery is something l noticed against fast players. Sancho changed wings the only way Collins could deal with him was with physicality not technique.

The commentary was exactly how he was involved after they were leading 3:0 from the first half.

Dortmund with 8 shorts off target 7 on target in total

Paderborn had 4 shorts off and on target respectively

Dortmund 67% possession and Paderborn had 33%

So, JAMILU only had ineffective shots, blocks and tackles essentially since his team ended up losing a 3 Goal lead.

For even having a hand in the first 2 come back Goals against his team alone, His Supposed blocks and tackles have been rendered useless at the end because they failed where and when they are to count most

Agreed that it's because MUSA is the Captain.

But how did himself started in the National Team that he had raked in 91 Caps With only 15 Goals to his name at 27 years of age?

He could even break the records of 101 caps set by YOBO & ENYEAMA

Compared to IWOBI's 40 Caps and 7 Goals.

Oga, If ONYEKURU is getting played and scoring consistently, ROHR go call am oo.

Abi what would you say about ONUACHU? Is it not because he is scoring regularly in BELGIUM? Despite his so far disappointing & unimpressive display record for the SE?
Captain aside ! Musa only Nigerian to score in two world cups

THE STORY BEHIND THE STATS (Eberechi Eze)
Fulham 2-1 QPR

Rating 6.98
With an average rating of 7.00, Eze who played in the MR position was the third best performer in a QPR shirt.

Total Shots
Ebere only managed 2 shots in the 90 minutes spent on the pitch, one of which was on target.

Possession
With a total of 62 touches, Eze had a 4.4% possession of the ball during encounter.

Passes
With a total of 30 passes, 27 (4 key passes) of which found his teammates, he scored 90% in successful passes ( the 4th highest on the pitch)

Dribbles
By his standards, he only managed 2 dribbles ( joint 2nd highest)

Tackles
Ebere had a total of 5 attempted tackles. 4 of which were successful making him the third joint best on the pitch in terms of successful tackles.

Corners
He was given the responsibility to deliver corners 9 times and had a 56% corner accuracy.

Dispossessed
Ebere recorded a game low in terms of the number of times he was dispossessed. This must have been the biggest factor to his relatively low rating. He was dispossessed 6 times, more than any player on the pitch.

Conclusion
Ebere Eze still has lots of work to do this season to get closer to his dreams of representing the Three Lions. For now Gernot Rohr can only hope he has a change of mind someday. For me, he needs to be the stand out player -- or at least one of the top players -- in the Championship by the end of the season to be an UNDISPUTED Super Eagles candidate.

MENTIONS IN THE RATINGS (EBERE EZE)
Fulham 2-1 QPR

Denis Odoi: 7 (Fulham)
Had some early difficulties containing Eze on the right side of defence with QPR in confident mood. Regained his composure though and supplied a superb cross for Kamara to net the leveller.
--WLS

Ebere Eze: 7 (QPR)
In his element as Rangers bossed the opening 20 minutes, the skilful Eze danced around opponents at will – although he was unable to take advantage of the scoring chances that fell his way.
--WLS

Ebere Eze 6 - Showed a few nice pieces of skill but was unable to exert much influence on the game.

Collins got 7.8 ratings, behind the goalscorer who got 8.1... (2 goals)

That means he was the 2nd best player of his team, how you guys fail to see that is beyond me...

He also bagged one assist, but y'all are blind to that, infact komekn said he did practically nothing, while the winger did everything, the winger should have kuku collect the ball from the goal keeper then, if such assist won't count....

Also if you did not see a game and are arguing with someone who watches the game, I don't understand how you can give informed analysis of what happened... I definitely will side @thesupernerd over @kbs

I'm not saying Collins Is eldorado, but 7.8 ratings(2nd behind the golascorer) and an assist is not a bad game at all for a person like Collins(well he is presumbed to be a carpenter here)... Even if we go by stats alone and not watch the match, it's still a great stat for him....

Good observation. All u said truly summarized his performance yesterday. He is a talented kid no doubt with alot of potentials but still hv alot to learn.

Judging by the talents England currently possess in th AM position he really needs to do more to get few caps with the 3 lions, even in thier current u21 set up I rate willock and foden ahead of him.

His best bet in international football is with Nigeria but is he better than Alex Iwobi? To me the answer is no.

He will be a good competition for the Everton player so his inclusion in the team will be a welcomed one.

Also from my own observation I prefer ovie ejaria to him. The reading fc man is more talented than Eze. He is stronger, direct and more commanding in midfield duels than the qpr man.
