While we were in slavery and colonialism for 500 years, white people out-grew their own primitive practises in Europe in an age they call the renaissance period. The reason you see us still believe such things today in Africa is because those practises are stuck in the past. They were not allowed to evolve to self destruct. But Europe evolved out of their own primitivity but left us behind！. This's why historians generally hold them responsible for situations of this nature.
