Linzo: What is wrong with you and all these lesser university talk? This is the reason why there is dichotomy in this country. Where you go to school is absolutely insignificant my dear. You have made your point I suggest you rest your case in other not to aggravate people. This is not the time to unleash unproven theory especially when people are going through emotional pains due to rejection. Be sensitive to their emotions. Please stop ok? Let's be kind to one another. 3 Likes |

Cjleks: Yes I know !!! But when a Nigerian studied abroad in university which is ranked below most top Nigerian universities in webometric, then you will expect Canadian authority to grant you study permit because you studied offshore? No it doesn't work that way. Do you think these people don't know our study system here? They monitor the trend in every country of their interest. They know everything about our universities and how most private universities are run in Nigeria and their unmerited first classes and 2:1. How people send their children to these private schools to obtain high grade so they can use it to travel, they know all these. That is why you will see an applicant with sponsor SOA of about 60m + landed assets got rejected 1 Like |

So one of my students for a Bachelor's degree program got his application approved yesterday. This is what I noticed about the Canadian study permit: 1. Students from wealthy backgrounds have higher chance than people from average family. 2. Students with travel history are also more likely to have their applications approved than students without travel history. 3. Huge funds in the bank statement is not really necessary. My last 2 students that got study permits had 2.3M and 4M in their respective parents account. 4. Still in relation to the bank statements, I think it's necessary to attach how the money was accumulated (either via salary pay slips, offer of employment, confirmation and letter of introduction from employers). For business people, CAC documents and tax clearance would suffice. One thing I also discovered is that visa is a case by case study, because you have different VOs treating different applications, what VO A would ignore in an application, VO B might not ignRe. I mentioned that my last 2 students got visa, lemme give a small round down of their applications, one was for Msc for September 2019 in take, applied in Mar 2019, visa was approved in July 2019. The other was for Bsc for Jan 2020 intake, applied 19 Oct 2019, application approved 21 Nov 2019 (fastest response I've seen, 31 days). Both fathers work at CBN HQ here in Abuja, for the Msc girl the father wrote a 2 line sponsorship letter on a normal A4 paper and signed. He only stated that he works at CBN and he's the biological father and is willing to sponsor her through her Msc programme, they're the one with 2.3M bank statement. Application was approved The Bsc father got an introduction letter from CBN, brought his ID card, offer letter and confirmation. Had 1.9M in his account, the wife is a business woman, she had 2.4M and we used it as a joint statement. Her CAC documents and tax clearance form was attached. Application was approved. Yesterday I met another client and the daughter going for Bsc was denied, someone referred them to me after the daughter was denied. She's 16 just like the other Bsc student but when I looked at the documents submitted, it looked more like the documents we submitted for the Msc student only difference was that the father didn't state where he worked. And a part of the refusal letter stated that there's no sufficient fund and as such they do not believe that the student would not want to seek employment to survive and pay fees. Did anyone notice anything? This particular man is a Medical doctor, works in a teaching hospital and he's well paid. So I've told them to get all the documents I used for the other student going Bsc and will use it to reapply for her. In general, I would suggest that when applying for visas, don't leave any thing untouched, put every thing you have just like the first Bsc student and you'll be good to go. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Cjleks:Nothing is wrong with me, though you may call it unproven theory but be well assured that I'm not trying to be insensitive to peoples emotions OK, the reason behind my post is to make people be aware of it so that they will not keep doing same thing and expect different result. If anyone is in this category let the person put forward a very constructive application and not just supplying the VO with millions of naira SOA and assets. Because most times these millions doesn't count |

Maybe just your personal observation because I know soooo many private school graduates that got and are still getting their study visa approved. It is based on the visa officers perugative Linzo: 1 Like |

Leyemoshood: For someone who already has a Masters and wants to go for another masters due to career development, how do you advise the person to package his or her application? Especially after been denied based on purpose of visit and family ties. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Linzo(m): 10:06am On Nov 23, 2019 |
Molly90:Yes they do very wella!!! What I said is that the rejection hammer is very much on them and very less on those schools I mentioned earlier. I brought this to the public so people can package their application well and not just sampling millions worth of SOA |

Cjleks: What do you mean by career development? What's your bsc and msc discipline? What's your work experience? Is it related to your previous two degrees? What's the year of work experience? Where do you work? Are you married? How old are you? 1 Like |

Cjleks:In such case the person need a very simple and light weighed application, what do I mean? You don't need a complex application because trying to convince the VO with all form of over exaggerated documents may raise eyebrows A simple application, one page LOE stating your previous rejection and reason for career development, simple SOA with few cash that make you look real and not tens of millions that will make you not real and above your present status, and few other documents relating to your career development |
So one of my students for a Bachelor's degree program got his application approved yesterday. This is what I noticed about the Canadian study permit: 4. Still in relation to the bank statements, I think it's necessary to attach how the money was accumulated (either via salary pay slips, offer of employment, confirmation and letter of introduction from employers). For business people, CAC documents and tax clearance would suffice. Well, I think there's absolutely no hard and fast rule to this Visa application thing. Although my admission was from one of the best schools in Canada, with a huge tuition( 55k,1 year) there was a major gap in my application. I self sponsored with evidence of meagre salary from employment. It couldn't be hidden...It was boldly stated in my appointment letter n reflected in my SOA. Yet, my application was approved. I practice what I studied in school n my PG program is 100% related. Nevertheless, the total money I had was my tuition fee but couldn't show how it was accumulated cos obviously I'd work almost the rest of my life to save that much going by just my employment. I was scared that mentioning that I had a side business would be a red flag cos I didn't know how much knowledge the VO had regarding civil service rules(trading conflicts civil service rules), so I left the details out. The only upside being that the account was overly active with both inflow and outflow. I think SOP is where the major issues lie...ability to explain virtually everything without indicting self is a skill that requires experience and critical thinking. I believe the best application is the one done by oneself not an agent. Big school or not, the ability to defend your intentions and convince the VO makes a whole lot of difference. My advice to new applicants is to take time and read this thread from the start. You will be surprised at how much knowledge you'll acquire. I bet you'll be more knowledgable than any agent and would never have any cause to give them a dime. And if you think that the thread is too long for you to read, then you'll have to ask yourself if you're actually ready for studies in Canada. One luv! 3 Likes |

You're right. I also have a big gap in my educational history, but I was able to Iron it out in my SOP. Just got a medical request yesterday. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Dbnagato: 2:40pm On Nov 23, 2019 |
peaceful22: Well, I applied in 2016 and got refused due to insufficient funds. So I deferred my admission and waited till when everything would be in place financially. I'm taking Computer Science B.Sc. Within my wait period I have taken Computer Science programs both online and in person, I've also taken internships in Web Development, I included all these in my SOP with Solid proof and by God's grace finances are now available and very stable. My agent worked at the Immigration office in lagos for 10 years before retiring to start his Visa Consultation Firm, so he is really skilled, he has very good success rate. He Scrutinized my application thoroughly. It's all good. Also believe God and be hopeful, don't let the rate of denial scare you for a second, just believe that your case is different. Also prepare to receive refusal in good faith should it come, at the end of the day, what could be the worst? |
