Yes!!! I do mentioned that their rejection rate is very rare compare to private universities mostly and lesser institutions of higher learning. I understand your point of trying to carry everyone along and not to discourage anyone from such schools, however, we should also let them know what is obtainable so that they can plan well.

Please forget about this quota stuff because nothing like that existed, don't you notice that Visa rejection for a session 2019/2020 starts even last year when application for 2019/2020 universities application have not opened. Don't just use quota for an excuse because their is nothing of such.

Mr boss, applicant previous study institution is the major reason for rejection, if you could be sincere to yourself you will hardly pinpoint any rejection from these schools UNN,Unibadan, Unilag and few other top universities. Let me ask you one question, can you mentioned or refer to a post of any person from these schools with first class and got rejected? Except for covenant university which is private.

We're sincere with facts boss, just that you know the truth but don't want to present it so that people will not feel bad and thus stop mentioning you for aid and encouragement.

Finally, please don't get me wrong, I didn't say only the universities mentioned got Visa approval. Both private and other lesser institute of higher learning get study permit approval but it will require constructive application and not tight application

As much as I wouldn't want to discourage any private university applicant - I am one too - I think the recognition your university has home and abroad matters a lot. I avnt gotten to the VISA stage, but I will share the knowledge I recently gathered from my MSc application to one of the most recognized university in Canada.

I graduated with a 4.44 in Biochemistry and applied for MSc Chemistry. I got a supervisor, she was super interested in me, even connected me with a Nigerian whose her teaching assistant. The guy directed me through my application process, even confessed my application was tighter than his, and he had no doubt I wud get in.

I was refused admission, no reason mentioned. When I called him to gather more info, he told me on a low-key that the Supervisor accepted me, the program also accepted me, but the College of Graduate Studies didn't recognize my Nigerian private university - it had no international accreditation, recognition or so. He advised that I take a one-year program in a popular federal university, keep up my good grades and reapply next year (b4 I finish the program) bcoz the supervisor was still very much interested in me. I told him I'll think abt it and will try other universities (I can't go for colleges bcoz the information I gathered here confirms that I would av 70% chance of Visa refusal bcoz my grades are good) at the meantime. He didn't think that was a good ideas. His reason being other universities might also not recognize my university; but if I wanted to try that, I should speak to the Uni's Graduate Studies Coordinator first, asked them if they recognize my previous private university before applying. Mehn, application fees are bloody.

Anyways, that was my first application. I've only tried once; Imma try again. Hope this helps. Peace.

Okay... cool... I applied online.. where is the VFS address in Lagos on the mainland?

Qudkom:

If you submitted online then it means you already paid for biometrics you just have to visit VFS Lagos or Abuja to get it done.

Hey fellow aspirants, I'd figure one of the major reasons for rejection especially in the masters program for Nigeria students.
The major reason for refusal is school of your undergraduate, Visa officers give credence to your undergraduate university. Have you notice that graduates from UNN, Unilag, Unibadan, convernent and top five universities are hardly refuse Visa? Most of the refusals are graduates for lesser universities especially private schools.
If you're not from the aforementioned schools please do well to constructively package your application. Take note

This is not based on fact but on subjective reasoning. I totally disagree.

Y'all should ignore.

Send a copy to my email: lordklynton@yahoo.com. I will help go through and revert. Also, I will ask some questions of you, which would help me in giving a proper feedback on your SOP.

Which is better, a diploma or a masters degree...
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Orlarshaynee: 8:45pm On Nov 23, 2019
I would say that it is subjective. It really depends on what one wants to use such qualification for. If you really meant ‘which of them is higher in rank’, then I believe it is masters.

If you have already gone through the biometrics and medical stage, then this is good news. You will likely get the visa. However, it came to my notice that CIC still does another vetting before making a final decision. In my case, it took about 15 days after submitting my passport before CIC finally sent me a final decision mail, which stated that a counterfoil had been attached to my passport.

I hope this was helpful?

The answer to this question depends upon your highest level of education. Let's take for example, assuming you've a bachelor's degree and graduated with a 2.1, your best bet is to apply for a direct master's program in a field that is in tandem with previous/current job role. On the other hand, if you finished from the University with a 2.2 or third class, then you should be looking at applying for a post graduate diploma/Certificate program. Personally, I wouldn't advice you to go for an ordinary diploma because this drastically reduces your chances of securing TRV.

During the time of your application process, did you link your application online?. You need a refusal letter from the embassy before a tuition refund can be carried out by the school in Canada. Since you didn't receive this letter, I would suggest you send a CSE to the Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration office via this email nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca explaining the delayed refusal letter from their office.

The subject of the mail should bear URGENT, along side your FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH.

Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM.

It will end in praises

Hello Guys,

I arrived Canada on the 1st of September. It has not been easy. If I knew what I know now I would have thought seriously about this school thing. God has been merciful to me. My advice to anyone coming to BC...don't count on the idea that you can work part time to pay your fees or survive here. I live in Vancouver Island and attend VIU. Most of my classmates are Indians and most of them are only interested in getting residence. They get visa easily and can take a loan from their local bank to deposit money for their fees. If you ever get into project groups with them you are on your own. You will do the work yourself because they really don't care about their grades.

If you are coming to VIU or anywhere in BC, please come with Nigerian food stuffs like dry pepper and palm oil. Its very expensive. Don't joke o. Carry indomie..it is a life saver. I came with Garri Ijebu and groundnut. I came with pepper soup spice (fish and meat is cheap). Come with umbrella, rain boot and rain coat...it rains like hell in Vancouver and Vancouver Island but its not as cold as the other parts of the freezer (Canada is freaking cold...no bi joke) I brought all the Igbo food stuffs I can carry and forgot income. Please carry coffee and milo. You will thank me for it.

I stayed at an airbnb for one week before I found a house. Its not cheap and also because I wanted my family to join me I needed to get a bigger house and used the rent agreement in the visa application for my family. I applied for their visa on the 23rd and they received approval last two weeks.

People on this island are seem nice (like British nice..they pretend). There are jobs during holidays like now..everyone is hiring part-time workers. People here will tell you that come January...it is dry. No Work!!!

My advice to anyone coming to BC or even Canada; go and learn something. Guys, if you can learn how to cut hair..you will be very comfortable. You won't need to do any silly part time work. Ladies if you can learn to weave hair and fix weavon...you will be ok..trust me...you will be a big shot!. Don't come here thinking you can just do part time work and pay your fees without getting into trouble. I am not saying you can't wing it but trust me even if you work 20 hours a week which is the maximum you can work as a student...you still can't do more than manage to pay your rent and barely survive. If you are on th MBA program then forget it. Canada is looking for talents and not C grade students. They now look at your transcript when you apply for post graduate work permit or apply for PR. Don't think you can wing it...you need time to study.

BC is the most beautiful; place I have ever been in my life...trust me I have travelled to 16 countries including 20 states in the US and most of Europe. BC is wild beauty and you wonder what tourism potentials we really have in Naija. When you come here you will fall in love with nature. They also don't have good food. There is nothing like Canadian food. It doesn't exist. Their food no sweet...simple and short (I am a foodie and chef so I authoritatively tell you). Nigerians here are the worst people I have ever met. When they get here they see you and ignore or avoid you. I understand why the ladies will do that...you no bi oyibo and you no fit give them paper. But for guys...thats silly. Some of them try to speak with oyibo accent. For God's sake I had this accent since I was a child so stop it...it doesn't fit you...lol

I wish everyone applying for visa good luck. If you are coming to Vancouver Island University please let me know if you need any information or help. I can point you towards things like accommodation etc. If you are here and plan to bring your family...I can share my experience with you. If you are applying for a visa I have an advice for you; ask God to let his Will be done. I am not sure I will have the time to help review applications because I have exams starting next week till second week in December. Afterwards I will have all the time in the world.

Cheers

Congratulations dear

Good morning . I got similar reply from my agent when I applied and I want to reply. Please I will love to know if you submitted:
1SOP cause I didn't
2 land documents and house documents cause I didn't
3 Employee letter and study leave approval from employee cause I didn't.
