IgbereTV reports the Federal government intends to inject N50 billion into the creative industry as its role in making sure the industry survives, according to Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, IgbereTV reports.

The Minister disclosed this at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday.

Mohammed also said government was set to commercialise the creative industry in Nigeria.

He said government knew that a lot went into the making of an industry and as such, it had resolved to prioritise commercialisation of the creative industry.

“A lot goes into making an industry; from the creative industry to the artiste, the managers, platforms, sponsors, agents, marketers, investors and award concerts like this.

“As we move into 2020, the successful commercialisation of the creative industry is our number one priority because it will create jobs.

“It will also reduce crime, be a major source of foreign exchange and thereby reduce our dependence on oil.

“We in government are tackling all impediments in the industry.

“We are making cheaper and longer terms finance available for the industry, especially for infrastructure like concert halls across the city in the federation.

“The issues that have plagued the country have now being put on the front burner by the Attorney-General.

“There will be no more excuses; the use of music must be paid for.

“The other big issue is the commercialisation of the digital economy.Data must be cheaper and owners of content must make their money from the use of their works,” he said.

The minister also said that together with the Minister for Communication, government would clean up the advertising industry to make sure proper audience exist and are collated.

We are not just ready to believe that this money will be dispensed for the right course, so many figures were mentioned and was to be channeled to some sector but yet the reflection is on ghost mode. Na entertainment we wan chop? Reduce the price of fuel, food comodity, work on the Health sector, so many wrong diagnosis/treatment on the rise and let there be power supply then watch Nigeria grow happily

More power to your elbow Sir . We’re doing everything to make Nigeria work better but bad people like Onyeama with Airfraud will always tarnish our image. Big stupid thief is fronting for Jonathan and his family. He opened 9 accounts in USA and Canada and register businesses. These businesses buy and sell airplanes but the people he put in charge knows nothing about airplane, they are just dummies and fake . He moved billions from Nigeria go accounts in USA and Canada for the purpose of buying aircrafts but once the money made it to USA they are never touched. They remain in the accounts and he tendered fake Billings to the government making it look like businesses are going on. He bought and drive expensive cars starting from $300,000 and has numerous of them, stays in most expensive hotels, shop in high end shopping centers. Real business men don’t spend that recklessly.

His Airfraud will be sold off in auction, he will go to jail and all the stolen money will be rerun to Nigeria masses.

Minister of misinformation. The Social media bill would be balance if there is a punishment to Federal government officials that do come up with false information and fake promises they normally make during campaign. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me.

the way this people mention money and inject ehn

education in Nigeria is in coma, many youths are now seeing education as waste of time just because of the ridicule the aboki in asorock and the min of education had brought to the education sector

education is the weapon of change, development and innovation by Nelson Mandela but in Nigeria my own president said Bsc is not a meal ticket just because he didn't succeed in any formal education and some imbeciles reelected him to perform what's brain capacity cannot accommodate

from all the ministries, we can't point to particular things this ministers from his first regime and second had achieved. imagine Nigerians are now celebrating no more fuel scarcity as if that should even happen before in a country that Oil production put 70% In the federation account

Nigeria problem will end when all these educated illiterates and hopeless imbeciles recovered their sense from asslicking political parties and individuals
