You had two refusals based on employment status:
1. Did you submit an application without submitting ant employment documents?

2. Recent graduate without any work experience?

3. Low remuneration?

This questions will clarify your issue you can also read my previous post on Employment grounds. The purpose of visit is probably because you had an incoherent study plan, vague SOP, a program that doesn't justify the expense and a program that isn't related to your work experience or qualifications.
Good morning. I got similar response from the embassy I didn't submit employment letter . please what documents will you advise me to add as I plan on reapplying?

Recent refusals based on Employment

It is your duty to explain your current employment stance to the VO. They want to understand that you have a viable job in Nigeria that can lure you and also want enough proof to verify that your program in Canada will boost your employability in Nigeria.

Common Mistakes:
1.submitting employment documents showing low remuneration and expecting the VO to believe that will convince you to come back to Nigeria.

2. Showing proof of employment in a company/Organization that cannot be verified. I once did an open source search on the CAC website and found out a particular company used by an applicant still uses an old land line number!!!!

3. VO's do verify social media platforms. So are you using your uncles company as proof of employment and your LinkedIn shows you're working elsewhere

4. Work experience not correlating with previous education program or proposed program in Canada.

5. Not proving why the program in Canada is of any reasonable expense or how it helps to boost your employment chances in Nigeria.

6. Claiming to study in a field that is technically dormant in Nigeria and hence little chance of employment. For example studying a program in Nuclear physics and claiming to apply the skill set back in Nigeria!

7. Stating that your employee will give a 2yr study leave! in Nigeria that is almost not possible unless you're a top ranked official or extremely important.

This are just some of the many mistakes regarding refusals based on employment reasons. Please avoid this mistakes. All the best.
please can you help me go through my SOP? I was denied visa due to employment and family ties.

There is a huge progress in your application. Following this, I would suggest you raise a CSE to the Kenya, Nairobi Immigration Office explaining to them that you've provided the documents they requested for on the DD/MM/YYYY and since then there haven't been any staggering response from their office as well as clearly stating that your application has exceeded the estimated processing times for Nigerian Applicants and further requesting that they should expedite the processing of your VISA. Lastly, thank them for the time devoted to the processing of your application.

CONTACT : The Kenya (Nairobi) Immigration department via this email: nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

The subject of the mail should bear APPLICATION UPDATE, along side the applicant's FULL NAME, UCI NUMBER, APPLICATION NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH.

Also send your enquiry via THE NAIROBI WEB FORM.

All the best

Good day Mr frank, I will like to know how to start the mail to them, my application will be 5 months and still no response from them. Thank you

Don't mind them, until the agent uses fake documents for them and they get banned, that's when they will come here to disturb us with " I wasn't aware he used a Fraudulent document" shit. So many here have gotten approval without agents.

To add to this, I think we should time when we apply.

The answer to this question depends upon your highest level of education. Let's take for example, assuming you've a bachelor's degree and graduated with a 2.1, your best bet is to apply for a direct master's program in a field that is in tandem with previous/current job role. On the other hand, if you finished from the University with a 2.2 or third class, then you should be looking at applying for a post graduate diploma/Certificate program. Personally, I wouldn't advice you to go for an ordinary diploma because this drastically reduces your chances of securing TRV.
Thanks for the advice bro. I finished with a 2-2 but applied for a post graduate diploma at nbcc which I got admitted. I will go on to do masters after... I hope I should still be able to secure TRV later on? Would I

You applied for your visa and your application has exceeded the estimated processing times for Nigerian applicants after completing medicals? Below is a sample mail written by me, send it across to Kenya, Nairobi Immigration office via this email; nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca so they could expedite the processing of your application.

APPLICATION EXCEEDED THE NORMAL PROCESSING TIMES

Dear Sir/Ma,

I am writing to notify you that my application for a study permit which was submitted on the DD/MM/YYYY has exceeded its 6th weeks of estimated processing times. I am a successful candidate for the Master of XXXXXXX program at the University of XXXXXXX for the Winter 2020 academic session, which will be commencing on the 6th of January, 2020.

I have successfully undergone the medical examination on the DD/MM/YYYY that was requested by Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on the DD/MM/YYYY

I am deeply worried about the delayed update on the status of my study permit application and I fear that I may lose my admission for the Winter 2020 academic session because University of XXXXXXX does NOT offer any option for deferral to a spring start date or a late January start date on its Master of XXXXXXX program. Please kindly bear in mind the challenges of making travel plans and settling down in a new country as an international student.

Thus, I humbly appeal that my application is processed and finalized and a decision communicated to me within the shortest timeframe possible before the resumption date of my program.

Thank you immensely for the efforts that has been put in so far and the progress gained in my application.

I earnestly anticipate your kind response.

Yours Sincerely,

XXXXXXXXXXX

I hope this helps? My best wishes are with you.

It will end in praises.

Yup! You're absolutely on track bro. Once you're done with the post graduate diploma (PGD) you can file for your post graduate work permit (PGWP) within Canada which will enable you gain Canadian work experience that will aid you tremendously in acquiring your PR. When you've successfully secured your PR in Canada, you can then decide to further for your master's degree and pay your tuition fees at a cheaper rate as a permanent resident holder.

If you have already gone through the biometrics and medical stage, then this is good news. You will likely get the visa. However, it came to my notice that CIC still does another vetting before making a final decision. In my case, it took about 15 days after submitting my passport before CIC finally sent me a final decision mail, which stated that a counterfoil had been attached to my passport.

I hope this was helpful?

Good evening house. When applying for Canadian visa and you aren't employed what's the right way to prepare your documents to ensure you get visa ? And if you are working is it a must to include your payslip, and statement of account even if you aren't the one sponsoring yourself?

Without a stydy leave letter, how does an employer reference help them in proving employability. In addition, hoe does this apply to sowp applicants who are not even going to study and can't get an extended leave. Kindly elaborate. Thanks

Hi everyone here, Something is really bothering my mind so I thought of throwing it to the forum for suggestions,

I was refused of visa a month ago, though the course I choosed is not a related course, I have Bsc in microbiology but got offered for global business management(an agent secure that for me I don’t know how he did it).

But I got refused base on family ties in home and Canada and purpose of visit

Now I decided to forfeit the admission and apply for a course related to my degree carrier

Now my concern is that, I hope it won’t affect my next application because I knew well that details including SOP Has been stored in Canada database, moreso in my SOP then, I mean the refused visa, I stated it that I want to change my carrier and if probably I get course related to my degree then I’ll need to change the story, I hope there’s no going to be any issue.

Please I need advice.
Thanks for your contribution.

It's quite dishearten that over my three years of existence on this thread, I haven't seen such high refusal rate as this during this period of time (September and October). My candid advice to applicants who have tried study permit twice or thrice and still got rejected of their visas, is to explore other options of migrating to Canada like the EXPRESS ENTRY, AIPP, PNP'S etc.... The time you will spend waiting for a study permit over and over and been denied on several trials is enough to prepare you to attain a great score for an IELTS exam, evaluate your transcipts via WES, obtain your work reference letters from past and previous employers, create an active profile, receive an invitation to apply and subsequently file for your Permanent Residency Application. The truth of the whole thing is that so many applicants aren't well informed about other programs and it's requirements that can successfully land them in Canada. Because of this, they thought that study permit is the only possible way of migrating to Canada, hence their restriction to it. The time is now, start browsing through the internet and take advantage of other exciting immigration programs too..... Come to think of it, do you know with a permanent residency visa you're entitled to several benefits which includes -

1 – YOU CAN LIVE AND WORK ANYWHERE IN CANADA
You will have the legal right to live and work anywhere in the country! If you start off in Montreal but you find a better job in Toronto, you will have every right to move. Permanent residents aren’t tied to a specific employer or a specific province unless you migrated through the PNP routes.

2 – YOU GET ACCESS TO UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE AND SOCIAL SERVICES
All permanent residents have access to Canada’s healthcare and social services. Canadian healthcare is universal, this means that you will have access to free medical care!

3 – YOU CAN SPONSOR YOUR SPOUSE AND CHILDREN
Once you are a permanent resident, you can apply to sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children to join you in Canada. That said, if you immigrate through Express Entry, you can include your family on your initial application so you won’t have to sponsor them later on!

4 – YOU CAN BECOME A CANADIAN CITIZEN
Becoming a permanent resident is the first step to becoming a Canadian citizen. Once you’ve resided in Canada for three out of five years, you’ll be eligible to become a citizen!

5 – IT CAN’T BE TAKEN AWAY FROM YOU
Once you are a permanent resident, the status can’t be taken away from you, unless you commit a serious crime or you fail to meet your residency obligation. All permanent residents must stay in Canada for two out of every five years, otherwise they won’t be eligible to renew their status.

6. -- YOUR TUITION FEES WILL BE SAME AS A CANADIAN CITIZEN.
Once you're permanent residence holder you wouldn't pay exorbitant tuition fees like an international student.

Think twice guys! And do the right thing. Not everyone will migrate to Canada through the expensive route which is the study permit. Always remember to change the plan but, not the goal.

I wish you all the best!

Hello Frankrobbn1,

I would like to request your advice on my Proof of funding.

My tuition and living expenses for a year is almost 5 million. Is it better to show this amount in my sponsors statement of account (balance of 6.5million) *OR* for him to send the 5million funds into my personal account(there by submitting my own account statement as prove of funds)?

NB: I also have a yearly scholarship from my university totalling 6k CAD.

Well said, bro all involves money. If we all are from rich homes we will not be afraid to apply thru school. As it stands school is still d best to migrate.

My intuition tells me there will be great visa success for applicants for November, december and January due to low amount of submission
