It's not even the financial clout it's the scouting ability

Carlos Bacca and Toto Ekambi cost a lot but there are other alternatives that would have been better and cost less

They even got a finished Raul Albiol in defence

Exactly it not about having alot of money to buy players
I still rate sheyi ojo better than carpenter ekambi
The nigga is damn too poor you don't how to score and you're still selfish with passes.... The dude nah confirm carpenter

Why wont both cost alot?

Carlos bacca is not your normal average player ooo incase you dont know, dude issa bomb, i doubt you watched him at sevilla, he is no more of a starter maybe because of his age and he has slowed down , he did so well at ac millan, he was vital in 2 of sevilla europa league win

Ekambi would be cost nah when he was one of the top 10 scorers in the french league, how would they buy other alternatives when they saw someone prolific and cheap?

Even if our osimhen failed to score more than 10 league goals he wont be sold for cheap, and i dont think 18 million euros is 2 much for toko ekambi, if na epl club angers wont sell for that amount

So, what were Opanunmi and Adepoju doing there ?

Agreed Opabunmi and Adepoju had no business in the team. The question the poster asked you was what were Ejide, Enyeama (at that time), justice christopher, John utaka (as at that time), efe sodje, Eric ejiofor doing in that team as well?

Can you imagine that?

No wonder Mario BALOTELLI never approved of his (Martins) relationship with his (BALOTELLI) sister

Even as a married man to the said Abigail Barwuah, yet clubbing is the most important thing to him now?

Okay. Thought they said he did married her? (Abigail)

Okay Baby Mama reigns (Not wanting to part away a dime over divorce should it occur)

Not that married men don't but with respect to his reasoning for shunning the deal in SAUDI ARABIA. It means he is an addict

Can you remind me the highest goalscorer for Nigeria during the 2013 AFCON?

How come this debunked your 'big striker' theory?

Abi, is Ike Uche taller than Martins with 10 inches?

Keshi never wanted Martins in the first place.

First of all, the bolded is wrong. Uche was not main stay in the AFCON and our highest goal scorer was Emenike.

How come with all those giant hit men, Ike scored more goals than them in the AFCON qualifiers with the same so called long balls you said Martins can't fit into?

I do not remember the qualifiers proper but followed from the Afcon and it is what I can speak for. I do not know the role, strategy or tactics in the qualifier to speak about it.

You didn't watch. Because if you did, you wouldn't have talked about Marrins not suitable for long balls. Gbam

I can tell off the top of my head that Inter had Julio Cruz, Adriano, Crespo in different times of Inter Milan pairing with Martins, for Martins to be the target of long ball football.

Also, Mancini during his time as coach of Inter Milan was not strictly a long ball coach to equate his playing system to Keshi. As I said, you can not tell me about Inter Milan. My team in Italy is Inter Milan.

Theophilus Afelokhai

3. Most Impactful New Inclusion (2019):
Joseph Ayodele Aribo (AKA Joe Aribo)
Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure
Maduka Okoye

Note: Ramon Azeez would have been one of the candidates but he is really not new to the Super Eagles. He is only new under Rohr's tenure but has been to a world cup before back in 2014. He only returns after a five year NT absence.

4. Best Ogedengbe Super Eagles Best Goal Keeper of the Year:
Ikechukwu Ezenwa
Francis Uzoho
Daniel Akpeyi

5. Stephen Keshi Best Defender of the Year:
William Troost-Ekong

Victor Osimhen
Samuel Chukwueze

8. Most improved player (2019):
Francis Uzoho
Ola Aina
Chidozie Awaziem

*Semi Ajayi

Note: Semi Ajayi comes close too but Awaziem at the Afcon definitely showed massive improvements. And that was a really grand stage. Semi has shown same in recent games since the Ukraine friendly. Well, hopefully he gets nominated by other monikers. He improved as good as the other three on my list.

9. Young Player of the Year (U-21):
Samuel Chukwueze
Victor Osimhen
Francis Uzoho

10. Super Falcons Player of the Year:
Asisat Oshoala

11. Super Eagles Goal of the Year:

Odion Ighalo goal off that splendid Aina assist vs Burundi (Afcon 2019).

Samuel Kalu solo goal vs Benin Republic (Afcon 2021 Qualifiers).

Joe Aribo goal off Moses Simon assist vs Brazil (International Friendly).

You mean we needed physicality because it was wrestling hence ability, fitness, agility, skills, etc were not needed?

No wonder when he entered, we were one man down.

We were one man down but later Ruben came into the game and made some impressive stops. Just that he came on too late. Azeez was the preferred choice but lacked the physicality to cope with the demands of the game. Especially with the French being out to maim our players.
