Hello all, Please what does this info below imply? Do students from Nigeria need english test? Must the english test be Academic or is general training test accepted? Language: Applicants from a university outside Canada in which English is not the primary language of instruction must provide results of an English language proficiency examination as part of their application. Students who have completed a degree from an English speaking and teaching university are exempt from taking an English proficiency test. Proof of university teaching in English will be required, either stated on the official transcript or an official letter sent from the institution. The Faculty of Graduate Studies reviews all international applications and does not consider such applications until a satisfactory English comprehension score has been received. |

Go to the institution you graduated from and request for a letter of English proficiency. chigrad: |

Thanks but what do you think about the last paragraph where the school indicated all international applications will not be treated until they receive an English comprehension score? Will letter of english proficiency from my university be suitable to take care of this? Profadeade: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Profadeade: 6:18am On Nov 25, 2019 |
The English Proficiency Letter will treat all that so far you graduated from a Nigerian University. Nigeria is regarded as an English speaking country. chigrad: |

Surprisingly people are now turning to agents, do we consider that as an act of laziness or fear? No agent can promise you 100% approval of visa but at least be sure they can promise you for an agent fee. When we joined we read from seasoned people on the page, we read from thread to thread and we got it right without paying a dime. Trust me you don't need an agent. All you need is time to research and ask questions here. May God answer each of us our prayers. 2 Likes |

Josade69: The money should be in your Sponsor's account statement since he is the bona-fide owner of the funds. Unless in a situation whereby he is a third party Sponsorship and thus wants to show his financial commitment towards sponsoring your education and stay in Canada, then he can transfer both your tuition and living expenses into your account and also provide his bank statement to proof that the funds was originally raised from his account. Again, his bank statement with a closing balance of 6.5M is very low, what about his dependants (wife and kids), his personal welfare and business?. In reality no sponsor will spend more than half of his funds to sponsor a candidate and have 1.5M left for himself. To me, it doesn't sound convincing. Hence, your sponsor should build his account statement to a reasonable sum before applying for your study visa. It will end in praises. |

Frankrobbn1:You get it wrong Mr man, 6.5m is not too low from a third party and even a forth and fifth party, the authority ask for about 3-4m is a sponsor account irrespective of who ever the person his, whether a relation or not. There is nothing like financial commitment of any sort that exist anywhere but its just a Nigeria newly founded term that was born out of desperation to pinch into the VO psycho to consider their application in the form of financial commitment which as never worked What an applicant needs is a plain statement of Account from a sponsor and let us stop this financial commitment jargon that have made us look desperate in the eyes of the Westerns. You don't need any form of commitment either as school fee or whatever you name it, unless it is categorically stated as in the case of some institutions requesting for some tokens as initial deposit or acceptance of offer before an admission letter is send to you. 3 Likes |

JustMellow:Why should it be ignored? When you refuses to address the real issue in the quest to positioning yourself as authority that you're not. Some of you trying to claim an authority here don't even have accurate knowledge of how the Canadian immigration system works, but rather result on conjecture, the best advice you gave is to tell applicant that without having thousands of millions of Naira in the sponsor account their application will not scale through. You will have to show landed property, this or that bla bla. Let me ask you, how many of your generic advice here have yielded positive results?. You people will want to paint the whole process look as if only the highly rich and the rich can access Canada. Let me sink this into you, the Canadian authority does not care how rich you're or how you submitted all the assets worth millions from Nigeria, whereas all they check and care for is your intention and they got to know all that from documents submitted and information provided. So the earlier you learn from other persons who may probably have the information you are not privilege to then the better you will guide people accordingly. Someone must not only move to Canada through study route as they are other surer routes to migrate to Canada as @dare111 pointed out yesterday's. 2 Likes |

Went for my Biometrics today... need to save someone else from the stress I went through... If you need to go for Biometrics either you applied via paper route or online, YOU NEED TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FIRST!!...The process changed this month... save yourself the headache of getting there without having an appointment booked... Cheers'! 8 Likes 1 Share |

Good day guys. Thank you all for your contribution. I've learnt A lot hear. I have just been offered admission into Centennial College to study Global business management for May 2020. It's a two year Graduate Certificate program. I just got the mail today and i haven't paid the tuition deposit of 2300 CAD yet. I also applied to Durham College for International Business Management but i haven't gotten feedback yet. This one is a 1 year graduate certificate program. I'll also want to go for my masters in management when I'm done with the programme. my challenge right now is: 1) if i go for the one year program and then go for masters later, will i b still be eligible for the 3 years PGWPP? 2) bearing in mind i still want to do masters after the program, do you suggest i go for the one year programme or two years programme? IboBoyNuel:Firstly, A Graduate Certificate and a MSC program are both similar the only differences are; 1. GC is cheaper 2. You don't require a project for GC 3. GC is more skilled specific compared to a rather comprehensive MSc Lately, I will advice you go for a 2yr program if you have the means. It will guarantee you a 3yr PGWP. Compared to a one year program that gives you just 1yr PGWP. You also need to consider the cost of studying in Canada going straight to a msc program after spending 35kplus isn't a joke. P.S: Do not state in your SOP that you intend to do msc after the GC program. Don't make that mistake. 3 Likes |

What I have heard is that you can still get the 3 years PGWP if you don’t apply for a PGWP after the one year programme. Meaning you can only get the PGWP once. So you need to ensure you get an admission offer before your study permit/visa expires; if you want to remain in Canada legally. Then you can go for the masters program and after then you can apply for the PGWP, which will award you 3 years work permit. You should however wait to get responses from more knowledgeable people about this. Good luck. IboBoyNuel: 1 Like |

Hi, congratulations on your admission to centennial. I wish you God's favor through the visa stage. I will like to confirm something as regards centennial College, after submitting documents to the admission office and requesting status from the Africa office, we were asked to submit another set of documents by the Africa office which included waec certificate, I want to know if you were asked to do the same and if submitting the waec certificate is compulsory or we can go ahead to submit just undergraduate transcript. I will appreciate your kind response. Thank you in anticipation. I have just been offered admission into Centennial College to study Global business management for May 2020. |

Molly90: Yea. I understand the confusion. Centennial College needs to fix up that. When i initially applied through the website, they sent a list of documents which i needed to send to them (university transcript and Certificate). However, i sent a mail to them about English proficiency and the replied me with another list of documents to send to them. They also sent an application form to fill and scan along with the documents. I hope this helps.

Linzo: Linzo, What pleasure do you derive from bringing up insubstantial contributions that kept derailing this thread each time you're here? You acted the same way last year in 2018 and here you're this year exhibiting same attitude. With due respect Sir, this is a public forum, and thus no one is in competition with anyone here. So why can't you go straight to the point and give your advice without being offensively defensive with your comments? On Saturday you came up with the debate that applicants that graduated from lesser institutions in Nigeria have lower chances of securing TRV to Canada and today you're here again saying that bank statement with a 3-4M closing balance in a Sponsor's account would fly for study visa and that it is a stipulated requirement by IRCC... Please where in IRCC official website, was this information published?. I want to believe that you must be a comedian, because your comments here are extremely amusing to me. I still wonder the pleasure you derive from irrelavant arguments/debates that is outside of the discussion this thread was originally created. Meanwhile, I'm delighted to welcome you back here again. You're such a hilarious dude to roll with. We hope to see more of you here. It will end in praises 4 Likes |

I think you are also not completely right Mr Linzo, nowadays financial commitment goes beyond ur sponsor writing letter, l will use my application as a case study, l have 2 sponsors, relative and non relative and both had enough money in the account to sponsor 4 people sef, they both wrote declaration of the specific amount to sponsor me with, these sponsors are real not fake yet l was refused based on financial grounds below. I even have a personal savings of 2M,Pension 2.5M. Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue. • Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study. • Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada. So financial goes beyond wat both of u said, especially if ur sponsor is not u or ur parents l guess, the VOs judge our application based on wat Nigerians are doing there. Now l am trying to figure out how to tackle this, please any suggestion. And l have decided to have an open mind towards my application, it's not a do or die affair because we are not God and we can't read their minds, we can only study them 90%, the remaining 10% is theirs and that 10% is enough to deny u visa, may God increase us in wisdom, knowledge and understanding, Amen.
