I came where to read 'short' poems.

And what did some folks do?

They simply gave us some long, badly written drivels in the name of 'short' poems.

Now, that leaves me pondering deep down in my heart how low the standard of education in this country has fallen.

If supposedly 'educated' folks do not know what the word 'Short' really means, then there is a huge problem somewhere.

LIFE, A BEAUTIFUL LIE; DEATH, A PAINFUL TRUTH


Today I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies that were themselves helpless;
Helpless because they arrived in body bags;
Bags for those that have taken a great walk...

Today, I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies that took turns for a purification bath;
Bath not meant for a special occasion;
Occasion for those leading a path beyond...

Today, I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies that could take personal decisions;
Decisions of why, how, who, what, when, and whatever;
Whatever is now long departed from them...

Today, I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies whom are someone's else family;
Family as father, mother, children or other relations;
Relations that death have caused their separation...

Today, I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies that may have lived life, a beautiful lie;
Lie that made them forget the hereafter;
Hereafter, the eternal life after here...

Today, I saw one, two, three bodies;
Bodies that have tasted death, a painful truth;

Those guys have really messed up the fun for me.

I was initially looking forward to being thrilled by the NL literati. The crême of NL penmanship but the hoi polloi came and derailed everything completely.

Accept my apologies. At least, on their behalf. They really goofed big time due to their inability to read and comprehend fully. Yours was indeed a noble idea. Trust me.

Helter skelter everyone
Everyone pursuing various dreams
Dreams of the night or dreams of the day
