@crushsugar

Congrats on your achievement as a UK RN.

I will like to make an enquiry about working in UK as a nurse or midwife.
I recently just graduated and I have a Bsc Nursing degree but I don't have my license. I schooled in Ghana and the process of getting a Nigerian license is quite tasking.
According to the new NMC UK requirements, am I eligible to start the process without having a Nigerian license?

Also, my Friend is a registered midwife in Nigeria. Do they recruit midwives too?

The new policy states that they can register you as long as the Nursing council where you studied can validate that what you studies can earn you a registration in the country of studies.

Hi @crushsugar, thanks for all the responses you've provided so far. Hope you've been enjoying your stay, work and all the processes of settling in?

I have some questions please.
- What kind of visa were you granted to come over and work?
- If your spouse had accompanied you, what kind of visa do you think he'd have been granted? Would that visa be sufficient for him to relocate and resume work there?
- I saw job vacancies similar to yours and the advertised work shift was from 7am - 8pm. Does that also apply to you?
- What advice would you give for a family with kids and both parents having to work? How do you think they could cope with the kids?

Would highly appreciate your response.

Warm regards.

1. My Visa was tier 2 Visa
2. My spouse's visa is tier 2 dependent visa and he can work with it without restrictions
3. The length of the shift is determined by the employee. You either work 12hr shifts for 3 days or 7.5hrs for 5days
4. Coping with kids I believe it's the couple's decision. There is opportunity to be flexible with your shifts and arrange how one spouse will be at home while the other is working and vice versa. Alternatively, you can pay a carer to be with the kids.

This is the only not too good road I have seen.
It is a residential area though and vehicles don't ply the road as such

It's about your money. The stress obviously will be slightly lower than what we do in Nigeria. Nursing is about 5million per year and medicine about 13.5million per year ,then you add your accommodation and feeding to it.

The advice below is a good one except you come from a very wealthy family.

Just a view on one early evening.
It gets dark before 4pm now and starts getting bright around 8pm. Characteristics of autumn.

Hello crushsugar, being UK RN, what advantage will BSC Nursing Hons give you that your current UK RN will not give you? Also, will your employer sponsor this and how long will the program last? Are you able to do this program while working? Many thanks in anticipation.
