He is not fencing 6 six separate plots na. The calculation for an acre won't take the 4 perimeters of a plot.

Your calculations on the size is wrong. Its the perimeter for an acre he is fencing not the perimeter for six individual plots. This means if your 3000 blocks calculation for a plot is correct he will definitely use less than 18000 blocks.

Going deeper, if it's a perfect acre and plots measure 120 by 60ft ( or even 100 by 50ft), based on your calculation we're talking 8000- 9000 blocks.

The 1 plot we fenced is 100 by 50ft

If you wanna do it yourself, you can start with 12,000 blocks, if dem use am finish, order for another . Do same for all the remaining materials.
Monitor the workers you are hiring very well so that they won't sell your materials out.

The 3,000 blocks for 1 plot fence I mentioned earlier may not be taller to it's own taste. So budgeting 18,000 blocks is not too much for an acre sir.

We are all just speculating as none of us have seen the survey plan.

However what I am trying to get you to recognise is that fencing an acre will be far less than 6 individual plots which make the acre as each plot will only require you to fence a maximum of 2 sides.

Just take some time to think about it.

I understand your point sir. The two (6) sides.

On 100by50ft, the 50ft side alone cannot collect 2000 blocks. It can only be 1300 or so for the two sides. The fence I referenced above has a burglary of 5ft by 20 in BTW. In the absence of burglary fence, I'm sure you know it will chop more than 3,000 blocks.

1, Area of 1acre of land is 4046.9sqm which
Length is 73.85m and breadth is 54.8m.

Assuming your fence height is 2m above Natural Ground level (NGL) and it foundation is 500mm underneath. Therefore Total Height of fence is 2.5m

Total lenght of your fence will be 73.85 + 73.85 + 54.8 + 54.8 = 257.3m

Fence Square meter is 257.3 x 2.5m = 643.25m

Area of block is 0.101sqm

Number of blocks needed
643.25 ÷ 0.101 = 6369pcs then add 5% waste which is 318 so Total blocks required is 6687 approximately 6700 blocks

Average good 6inch block sold For N180
180 x 6700= 1,206,000

Assuming 2gates (Tentatively)

Excavation: budget N180,000.

Foundation Concrete: 13cum @ 45,000/1cum = N585,000 (cement sand granite water and workmanship)

Laying of fence: between 85bags and 100bags of cement at least 60 tonnes of sand water budget 30,000 workmanship budget 450,000

Let's look at the calculations:

1 acre=6plots(for 60×120ft) or 8 plots(for 50×100ft)
1 plot=50×100ft (in Abeokuta)
Perimeter: (L)=100×8= 800ft.Therefore, giving us 1600ft for both lengths.
Perimeter: (B)=50×2=100ft
Perimeter (total)= 1600+100=1700ft
1ft=12inches, therefore, 1700×12=20,400inches
1 block length=18(either for a 9 or 6-inch block)
Therefore, 20,400÷18=1,133.33~1,134 lines of block.
Now, let's say we are are going 9 coaches up, this gives;
1,134×9=10,200
But to be on a safe side, considering breakage, say 10,300 blocks are exactly needed.
Now, 1 block=N170(price is variable),
Therefore, 10,300×170=N1,751,000.
So, over N1.8m naira is needed.

For anybody to give you a reasonable estimate, you need a plan, what us your expected height of the fence, is it 2meter high or 3meter high, my brother you are to plan your estimate with worst case scenario.
The dimension of your acre is 108m x 36m or 216m *18m or whatever it is, with a height of 2m and allowing 2courses of block in the foundation, you will need a total of 7,200pcs of block, and if you are considering a higher fence of 3m from the existing compound you will need an approximate 10,000pcs of block. I will advise you use a 9" block because of the stability against wind etc, so that you won't have to repeat work latter. People use 6inches block in a built environment since buildings absorbs the effect of winds, but such a wide expanse nothing will curtail such wind and it equally has to be braced at intervals with beam.

Cement usage for the 7200 and 10,000 are 120bags and 170bags respectively.

..... your overall calculations isn't correct, your calculations didn't give a perimeters estimates for the fencing of an acre but gave a perimeters estimates for fencing of a plot of land and multiplying by 6 plots and that's not correct for, it will make you ended up over quoting nd having excess left over after the job. secondly, 6 plots equals an acre if a plot is been measured 60 ft x 120ft i. e 18.3m x 36.6m and that's when you have 6 plots = 1 acre. on the other hand, 8.7 plots equals an acre if a plot is been measured 50ft x 100 ft i. e 15.2m x 30.5m. please notes that, it very important. before giving any clients estimates, make sure a drawing or a plan is in place in other to guide you. thanks
