Which school in Ireland that doesn’t accept IELTS before an admission decision is made? How much is Ireland student visa? And do I have to pay visa fee before my visa will be approved, & if my visa isn’t approve will they refund me? I need an answer to this ASAP. |

Dear all, I need some information. I have been awarded a scholarship to undergo a 4-year structured PhD at NUIG. I have also received my acceptance letter from the admission office stating clearly that the scholarship will take care of my tution fees and I will still have an excess of €1000pm all through the four years. It was indicated in the conditional mail sent to me that they are expecting me with my family. I would like to know in applying for join family visa for my 2kids ( aged 2 and 4) and my spouse, how much do I need to have in my account? 1 Like 1 Share |

akaraelepo: Morning, I once had the opportunity to speak to a visa officer about PhD students applying for study permit with their family; The visa officer advised that the student should apply for their visas first , once approved and settled in Ireland with respects to their long term permit -IRP and appropriate accommodation that can take their family member amongst other visa requirements to be fulfilled, such can then request or invite their family to join him/her. When applying for your visa , despite the fact that they won't be moving with you immediately you are expexted to still show proof of funds that can sustain you and your family whilst away- a single student is expected to show an equivalent of 3m, married with children should show more. Your wife's means of employment of livelihood should also be on record including her salary bank statements, your tenancy agreement etc. Finally, when requesting for your family to join you later on; you should be able to show at least 13,000 to 15,000 euros in your Irish account or Nigerian equivalent : 7,000 euros for your wife, at least 3,000 euros or 4,000 euros on each child. Congrats and wishing you success with the visa app. Cheers 3 Likes 1 Share |

Morning All, Its been a while. In preparations for 2020/2021 admissions, please find below entry requirements on some programs, scholarships or discounts available.: National College Ireland: Tuition fee for Postgraduate courses @ 15,000 euros/ Undergraduate @ 10,000 euros per year/ PGD or Higher diploma programs @ 12,000 euros : 1. Future leaders @ 7,500 euros off - only available to exceptional students (limited to 4 per region i.e Africa and UAE) 2. MSc Entrepreneurship @ 7,500 euros off- deadline for Tuition fee payment is April 2020. 3. 4,000 euros off to graduates with 2:1 or 1st class 4. 2,000 euros off to graduates with 2:2 5. 4,000 to 5,000 euros off to Higher diploma students 6. 2,000 to 3,000 euros off to UG students (Please note that you pay the same tuition for the remaining years of your program. i.e if an undergraduate student gets 3000 off thier fees in the first year , their tuition balance of 7,000 euros for the first year is what they will pay until they graduate - 7,000 euros each year exceptions to them failing or repeating a course or class) GMIT: This school will accept students with SSCE and English test directly into 1st year of bachelors degree. If a student scores at least 6.5 in IELTS , they pay as low as 6,900 euros per year. PGD Accounting also available @10,000 euros for 1 year duration and 2 years work permit applies to this particular course and school only. LIT, DKIT & IT Sligo will also accept students into their 1st year of bachelors degree IT Tralee and DKIT - have free hostel accommodation available to undergraduate students only for the duration of their program i.e 3/4 years. DBS has a standard 1,000 euro discount on all programs. They will also be accepting 6.0 in Academic ielts for most MSc / MBA programmes in lieu of the former 6.5. TUDublin / DIT: 60 merit based faculty scholarships - 15 to each faculty to a tune of 4,000 euros each. Deadline for this is mostly March. This merit based . Visa application requirements still remain the same for Jan, Feb and April 2020 start dates . We are expecting the embassy to update us if there will be changes to applications made for September 2020. It is however worthwhile to state that, if you will be sponsored by any friends / relatives and you don't have concrete proof of relationship to such or you or your sponsor don't have enough proof of employment or supporting documents on funds in your accounts, PLEASE desist from applying to the Republic of Ireland . The United kingdom is a better alternative , as you are only required to present 28 days bank statements. For those expecting their visa apps , We @ ICaSNg look forward to hearing from you soon. Do have a blessed week ahead. Cheers 6 Likes |

I absolutely agree with ICASng advise. I don't know how deep your pocket is but I know you cannot survive with €1000 a month with your family. Your wife would need to get a supporting job which is possible based on the type of visa you'll get. There are things you need to take care of when you arrive and they are not automatic. You need to get accommodation, apply for IRP and PPS appointments and generally get to understand the system (and it's very structured). Doing all those while studying with the stress of settling your family would be difficult. I would suggest you come down, understand the system and then bring your family over. That way you'd have checked out schools that your children would attend, jobs that your wife can apply for and gotten a good family accommodation. All the best Sir. akaraelepo: 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello guys, This is my first time here. I want to apply for my masters program at Cork institute of technology (msc data science and analytics). I am currently getting my materials, transcripts etc., ready. I got a mail from the school that an interview will be conducted before issuing admission letter. Please who have an idea on how this interview is normally conducted? Is it through Skype or what because I'm confused on how this will go? Your reply will be appreciated. 1 Like |

Also, for the application process, it is expected that applicants scan and upload their transcript. But the transcript I have with me is the photocopy I used during my Canada visa application months ago. I submitted the original to the school I gained admission in January this year. Although that one is long gone since I was refused visa by the Canadian embassy. So now I'm left with photocopy. Can I use this to apply for the admission? Or is it compulsory I go back to my Alma mater and request for a new one(original)? |

momoqueen:Really sorry for your Canada visa refusal. You picked a great course n institute. From the advise I got, Ireland insists on original documents for the visa. A great idea will be to write to the place you're applying to. Those who have experience with Cork should give their input. |
