Born2Freak: As regards the bolded, technically, every movie is a cash grab, some just do it better than others. ....................................... A film that has strong female lead(s) is always going to be pro-feminism, it's inevitable... It doesn't matter the genre or premise, the overarching theme that will invariably shine through is thus; what a man can do, a woman can do it better... A woman can be just as strong and astute as a man, and so on. If you're going to reprehend Charlie's Angel (2019) for promoting what you dubbed "fake feminism", then you may as well paint all the other films that have strong female leads with the same brush, including Anna (2019) that you loved so much. Charlie's Angels suffer from poor script, mediocre directing, and editing amongst other things, not because it promoted fake feminism. In an alternate settings, it would be a masterpiece. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Triangle- Major Spoilers ahead!! I had to go and read up on Sisyphus to understand the metaphor of the Ghost Ship. The long and short is Jess is dead, and I think she was condemned to the Aeolus because she was abusive to her autistic son. She is trying to come back because she wants another chance to be a good mother, especially after witnessing the abuse from the stand point of an outsider (presented when she watches from the window the second Jess abusing Tommy). Like Sisyphus, she will keep doing the same thing over and over again for eternity. There are variations to the actions, but the outcome will remain the same: she will always return to the Ghost Ship to act out her punishment. AWESOME, MINDFUCKING MOVIE!!!! 9.5/10 FUCCCCCK!!!! 1 Like 1 Share |

Born2Freak: A film can have a female cast and not be feminist, but a film is feminist if the lead (protagonist) is a female character with vigorous characteristics. Understand the difference. |

Ishilove: She could break the cycle by doing something different, like don't go to the yacht. Go some place else and live her life... or something. |

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Born2Freak(f): 6:47pm On Nov 25, 2019 |
DannyKoice: Feminism is the advocacy for equal rights for women. It takes many forms. A movie is feminist if 1. It discusses central feminist issues 2. It subverts sexist cliches 3. It passes the bechdel test 4. As a subset of number 2, it has to be a good movie. Female driven movies were rubbish and few. 5 Likes |

Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Nobody: 7:10pm On Nov 25, 2019 |
Born2Freak: No offense, but you're not making much sense. Everything I said is backed up on the web. A feminist is a strong and independent woman that is capable as well as she is self-reliant. A feminist movement is a movement advocating for equal rights for women. Born2Freak: Yeah, in yourself. Asked you to tell me the characteristics of feminism, and all you got is an incomprehensible text about a bechdel test and some other irrelevant shit. Trying to complicate a very basic topic won't make you woke. You ought to be very disappointed in yourself indeed. 6 Likes |
