Yeah, in yourself.

Asked you to tell me the characteristics of feminism, and all you got is an incomprehensible text about a bechdel test and some other irrelevant shit. Trying to complicate a very basic topic won't make you woke.

You ought to be very disappointed in yourself indeed.

You are speaking out of hardcore ignorance. The first step in deciding how feminist (or better, how much women are involved in the dialogue/script) a movie is, is by trying out the Becthdel test.

You exposed your biased hand too soon.

Typical Nigerian ignorance. You dont know the facts of the case but you must support the guy that you like.

Ogbeni, first Google what the bechdel case is. That is even the first step in assessing feminist media.

Secondly, if you had any sense, you would understand that koicereloaded's whole premise is wrong- having a strong female lead does not mean that a movie is feminist.

Here are the reasons why.

1. Not every woman is "strong". A very big misconception of feminism is that it advocates for strong women. Some women enjoy being housewives, some women enjoy being damsels. What matter is that they are given a choice and opportunity to achieve their goals. Feminism is intersectional. Feminism is for all women.

2. A strong female lead can be an anti-feminist herself. Take Margaret Thatcher. A prime minister. A strong woman who was at odds with with women's rights. A movie with her as the central figure wouldn't be feminist if it focused on her policies. Also note that she was surrounded by men in the parliament. Bechdel test might not even work here. Theresa May is another example self.

I rest my case. Anyone who wants to learn will learn.

So you're still going on about this, something I had forgotten. You're so wrong on the bolded though. Seems you don't know what feminism is all about.

The whole point of feminism is to fight for parity for women. To empower women to do more within the society, to be part of decision making process that they are previously denied. Feminism is not willing to be a second class citizen because of your gender. Feminism is the process that engenders power in women over their own lives, society, and in their communities. Women are empowered when they are able to access the opportunities available to them without constraints, and restrictions such as in education, profession and lifestyle.

Being a housewife or a "damsel" (whatever that signifies) undermines the very essence of feminism. A housewife is someone who is willing to be an object for their husband's gratification. A willing housewife is not a feminist for the fact that she doesn't want to be empowered. She doesn't want to be part of a decision making process. Feminism is not for all women, because not every womon has the compulsory qualities needed to procure enlightenment.

Pertaining to your number 2, I concur that a female lead can be anti-feminist, which is why I emphasized "strong" in the "strong female lead". Some female leads are just there to promote misogyny and the misconceptions that women are dumb. These female leads are the antithesis of strong, and you're liable to find them in B-horror movies.

Margaret Thatcher was a feminist, even if she didn't know it. The first female UK prime minister, she reached the apex of political potency, and had men quaking in their boots. She was nicknamed the "Iron Lady" for a reason, you know? Thus, tagging her anti-feminist doesn't make any sense. It's ironic.

You should read more on the subject, and stop this Bechdel test bullshit. That shit doesn't factor in here.

Ready or Not

An intriguing spin on the horror genre. Somehow the filmmakers were able to fuse different variations of horror with comedy. It started out as romantic comedy, then gradually became a psychological horror, then evolved to slash horror, then to jumb-scare and finally to haunting, and then back to dark comedy. It's a riot.

Overall, it's extremely well done.

Hilarious.

Let me just point out where you are wrong for posterity sake. Here is a list of your working notions.

1. A housewife cannot be a real feminist.

2. The bechdel test is irrelevant in determining a feminist movie.

3. Margaret Thatcher was a feminist.

4. A strong female lead guarantees a feminist movie.

Sharrap, posting opinion of others won't free you from the hole you have dug yourself into. I merely countered with links of mine to prove to you that posting links is easy. They were merely the opinion of others, and don't in any way undermine what I said.

Go to wikipedia and read up on Feminism, after which, do your research on empowerment of women.
