Kudos guys

This Uber app issue is really causing alot of embarrassment o..I was at Chevron estate around 10 pm for some personal runs and as I was leaving I got a trip to iyana oworo, I was happy because na ketu I dey go. Took rider to iyana oworo and trip shows 400 naira, I notice app was showing 54 mins from begining to end of trip, based on wat I have read here I knew there might be a prob. Told rider it's app iss and she should pay estimate, she started giving story that she paid abt 4500 goin to Chevron and Uber promise to refund her and she believes she's been refunded, I wan change am but I felt it's not necessary, she later drop 1k. I jus vex drive comot, got another trip immediately to the place at ogudu, very short trip and it was just 6 mins, end trip and it shows 2,200. Rider was shocked, I knew it was app issue also, I told her maybe she's owing Uber b4 and she said nope, I did a review na still 2200.. I ask her not to pay that she should contact Uber, I was embarrassed myself because I had to start explaining app issue bla bla,. BF came and paid 2k. I jus go offline immediately. I sent a message to Uber and they acknowledge that they had issue with their app and they're trying to resolve it...

Uber unblocked my account yesterday, but I gave them 1week suspension. I won't open that app this week.

If I activate opay before weekend? Then I'm giving them an indefinite suspension.
Those guys don't fit naija market and style.

"That thing dey pain"

You'll drive 10mins to pickup.
Get there and spend almost 5mins waiting and rider cancels request.

All Taxify could say is get back to work.

For now most of their trips are card trips
But you have an advantage of getting your money the next day. Not like the other partners that will hold on to your money for a week before you get paid. I could remember when I spent almost all the cash on me on repairs then set out with 3k fuel hoping that cash trip will surely come my way, it was a painful experience.

Card payments... So I believe they will surely pay... The Opay bikes no even send you sef... Once them drop you, them go just go Dia way... With assurance say their money go enter

Opay runs an inclusive system. You need to have money in your wallet before you can order for a ride.

They don't use cards. More of a wallet. Type, you transfer money from your account to credit your wallet before embarking on ordering a ride.

Buy a small iphone , 4s-5 would cost from 18-23k UK used.. gps is very accurate, it won’t get spoilt using it on gps all day (cos normally the phones would get hot from location usage). And the parts are cheap.

Or

Buy any other cheap Android except Samsung. The part is expensive and not reliable at all!!!!

Android u could buy cheaply should include HTC, TECNO,LG AND INFINIX.. Gionee is good to.

(I was an engineer in IKEJA, and just gave u my 2 cents)

And how can we work around that

Seeking permissions from E hailing companies

Purchasing screens for drivers

Drivers get incentives for installing screens

Looking for clients to advertise on them

I wish I could get the girl that scammed me of #1100 from Ajao Estate to Ikeja

I go just blow go TMB, stop for Unilag waterfront, and drag her out of my car.

She can either choose to trek to IyanaOworo or Adekunle grin
or better still ,swim with the fishes grin

I'm sure they did all these, but I think the issue boils down to getting drivers to install the screens, how much are you willing to pay, and most importantly, getting the clients to advertise

Those three, to me are huge barriers

Is he on rentals or HP?

It will be my phone too. But he will be using it temporarily.

Who has the right to choice of songs please? Drivers or riders. Especially when such genre of music is distasteful to riders/drivers.

Like, I dislike Fuji music but a rider insists.
once the trip is started, the rider,I believe comes first.
For example,if a rider tells you to increase the air-conditioning,do you tell him you have catarrh and won't be able to do such? Or he tells you to stop a particular kind of music,or he wants a particular radio station,do you choose your preference over his? Therein lies your answer.

You didn't pay for a DJ grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin. Chineke nna

But for me, the rider has the choice to songs. When I was driving an elantra, I always offered the aux sef.

It's just for a while. When they get down, I change back to my Jay-Z, Buju banton or Tracy Chapman cool
Tracy Chapman grin

Have any idea what they paid? We can build on that or look at pay per trip, per day or per week depending on some deliverables

Is there no channel between drivers and Uber?
A simple solution would be for Uber to partner with a company with petrol stations. So you use a petrol station as an emergency stop if you feel unsafe. I think you guys need safe places where you can stop. I say I want to buy petrol, then drive in and shut down.
this, my bro,is a very sound observation.nice one
