This is not an achievement? Having an expensive school does not equate high inbound mobility . How much is Kenya receiving annually on education? This sound more logical..... they are school in Ghana that charge as high as 24 to 25 thousand dollars annually, so it not a biggy .

Having expensive schools is pointless, quality matters

There are some country in the world, you will find no single slums. Germany and Switzerland are good example, the former is around 80 million in population. so africa has no excuse most especially country that are small ..

But there are rural places germany, for many in africa won't șee it as rural cos roads and services they are well maintained.

But the village i grew up in in south africa has good roads, electricity, free clean running water, street lights, 4G lte network, good orderly streets, clinic, police station within 10km,... Some has bigger shopping malls bigger than those found in lagos, or accra or in kenyan cities

Germany rural settlement has a 100 percent of anything obtainable in the German city including farming factory. I actually don't see south africa been better in this regards. South Africa actually has it better than many africa state but that dosnt mean she is totally free of the attributes of africa. there is ghetto, slums, unregulated urban area , and high presence of poverty, unhygenic condition etc.. .. South Africa might be better than some of africa state but the gaps is not something spectacular....

Top 10 African Countries in Car-to-Population Ratio

Liberia
It might come as a surprise since Liberia is one of the poorest countries in Africa, but it has one of the highest car to people ratios in the continent. For every 3.9 Liberians, there is a vehicle. Despite poor infrastructure and less than 1000km of paved roads, Liberians buy cars. It’s a rubber-powered economy.

South Africa
South Africa has the highest cars per capita in Africa. One in every five people in South Africa owns a vehicle. In 2012 alone, more than 250,000 units were sold there. Here you will find the largest vehicle market on the African continent.

Tunisia
Tunisia is third in North Africa, with a car for every seven Tunisians, owing to a relatively lower population. Annually, more than 100,000 vehicles are imported into the country. It is one of the leading car parts manufacturers on the continent.

Morocco
Morocco comes in a distant second to Egypt in North Africa, with a car for every 11 Moroccans. It is a major assembly hub for cars in Africa. To date, there are close to 2.8 million registered cars in the country and every year, more than 110,000 vehicles are imported

Nigeria
Nigeria is the number one car buyer in Africa, with an average of 70,000 vehicles sold there annually. This can be attributed to the growth of the art and entertainment industry there, However, poor and badly maintained infrastructure has so far prevented Nigeria from fully exploiting her vehicle buying capacity. This country has the largest population in Africa and as such, there is one vehicle for every 12 citizens in Nigeria.

Egypt
Egypt, despite the political turmoil that has been experienced there lately, has maintained its lead as the number one car buyer in North Africa. In 2012, sales topped more than 100,000 vehicles. There is a very high population and thus there is a vehicle for every 14 Egyptians.

Ghana
Ghana’s middle class have started buying new cars. Today, there is a vehicle for every 22 Ghanaians. A boom was noticed in 2011 due to the discovery of minerals. The stable political climate also encourages investors who pump money into the economy.

Country Cars per 1,000 People
Liberia 250
South Africa 200
Tunisia 142
Morocco 91
Nigeria 85
Egypt 71
Ghana. 45
Kenya. 30

SUFFERInSMILIIN:

When I visited Nigeria 2 months ago the eko Atlantic was a dead dog most of the projects have been abundant. The investors complained bitterly even the ones which have bought land in the area that when the local currency collapsed from 140 naira to the US dollar to 360 naira to the dollar it is no more economical. What this means is the price of the properties with have tripled and people cannot just afford them. A good example when eko Atlantic started the naira to the dollar was 120 naira so if you are going to build a project for 1 million u.s. dollar it will be 120 million naira today if you are going to build a project for 1 million u.s. dollar it is 360 million naira which people cannot just afford the properties. Right now I can tell you 60% of the project at eko Atlantic have been abandoned. To make matters worse the project is 300% over budget it is facing the same issue as dangote oil refinery because whoever buys property we have to pay the debt. The next thing most Nigerian middle-class and upper-class are running away from the country. Look how Nigerians are buying houses in Ghana South Africa even Namibia now you will be short I was hearing in southern Africa there are roads which are all the houses are owned by Nigerians

Reminds me of Kenya '93,immediately after the election. Hyperinflation was rampant,a fake gold export compensation scheme had just robbed us of 2 bn $ in todays money as more money released to buy a win for Moi jacked up prices even further. IIRC,at this time bread tripled from 5 shs to 15 in a month while the gbp went from around 45 to 110 in the same time frame.
Looking back I rmbr what a terrible time it was for all of us-later on I realised we avoided a Zim' type situation by a strange internal resilience that scared the West.
