Nwakego's kitten yaff suffered cheesy
What if after the whole thing, Mr. Nosa doesn't grant you the promotion, what if his wife comes to the office, sees you and continue another set of embarrassment?
Have you thought of the outcome?

She really needs to be wise and stay woke cool

Thanks for the update ma'am

SASSY AND SLAYING: DIARY OF A SINGLE NAIJA BABE
Episode 18

Dear Diary,

18th, March 2016.

Today is Friday. Thank God it’s Friday! My week has been heaven on earth! I was given a double promotion this week. I am now the head of department of an arm of the Human Resources section of the company. I am now the madam of about fifteen people. You need to see what my new office looks like. The perks of this my new job is something else. I have been given an official car. I have a car! And I want to scream! I have been screaming since Monday sha. Hahaha... My new salary is triple my former salary. Oh my God! Woah! And you cannot imagine what my allowances look like. They are goodies and sweetness all the way. I am basking in my new found status o! Diary rejoice with me.

Mrs. Nkiruka didn’t even bat an eye. She was indifferent about my double promotion. The woman has filled in my former position with another staff. She doesn’t waste time at all. Mrs. Workaholic. I pity the person sha. She or he is in for it.

Steve, Benson and Clara were shocked when they found out about my new job title. You should have seen the looks on their faces. I am so happy that I am not going to be seeing Benson’s face, every time I resume work. I know that Clara is jealous, the girl almost died of heart attack when she found out that I have been promoted. A double promotion for that matter. She has been working with Skylight properties longer than I have. I am sure she thinks that she deserves the promotion. Whatever.
But, everyone knows that my work was way better than hers. That was why Mrs. Nkiruka was always sending me on official errands instead of her. She can go and die for all I care. Let her go and hug a transformer if she deems it fit. Or better still, she can jump into the Atlantic Ocean.

I ran into Mr. Nosa a few times this week. This man wants me to be his side chick. Can you imagine? I think he has a death wish, or maybe they are controlling him with a remote from his village. Is he well at all? Of course not. It is like something is wrong with this man o! Does he think I want to die? How old am I? I want to live long and enjoy my life abeg. This man should just free me. I told him that after the episode with his wife in Accra, I am not willing to face a repeat episode. He tried to convince me, saying that he can keep his wife in check. In check, indeed. I laugh in Spanish. If he could truly chain that dog of a wife he has, then how come she was able to trace us to Accra? I bluntly told him that I don’t play around with married men. I am more interested in single and available men. He wasn’t happy, but I was past caring.

I overheard Mrs. Nkiruka, telling another manager, that Korede’s traditional wedding is this weekend. She has bought and sown her own aso-ebi. I hate Korede Nelson with a passion and I hope that I never get to see him for the rest of my life. I do not wish him well at all and I pity his bride-to-be. She has no idea who she was marrying.

Itoro and Cassandra were shocked and jealous when they saw me with my new car. Oh diary, you should have seen the looks on their faces. Timi, Itoro’s live-in lover, was just staring and staring. He was equally surprised. Bro. Sam was ecstatic and he came to pray and anoint the car. Nasir avoided me all through this week. I can tell that he isn’t happy with my new status. Who cares? He can go and dig a pit in the Sahara desert and bury himself in it for all I care. Prince, that flirt in our compound, is now playing friendly with me. Is it because of my car? Abeg, that useless guy should just stay in his lane, biko.

Can you imagine the text message the landlord sent to me yesterday? The old goat wants to increase my rent! The man better not try any shit! I will not have it. All because of a new car? Can’t someone progress in peace again? See me see blessing o diary.

Anyways, let me ignore everybody that doesn’t wish me in this my season of joy and happiness. I am planning to cruise town this weekend. I will drive to my siblings’ place, then to mum’s place. They will be so, so, happy for me.

Okay, got to go now diary. I want to drive down the street to get suya from the Mallam. I am thinking of soaking garri for dinner, definitely with chilled water, milk and lots of sugar.

Thank God! Nepa have been faithful all week long. I hope we will enjoy electricity this weekend.

Catch you later, diary.

Bye.

I don't think her benefactor would take this her refusal lightly. The man may revoke the double promotion thing if she doesn't continue with him.

SASSY AND SLAYING: DIARY OF A SINGLE NAIJA BABE
Episode 19

Dear Diary,

2nd April, 2016.

Today is Sunday. It is the beginning of a new month. I have not written for several weeks now. I apologize diary. I have been so busy at work. My new job title came with its own burdens. I have more work and less free time. My staff are not making matters easy either. Many of them are in their thirties, especially the guys. Can you imagine that most of them feel that I am too young to be their boss, their madam? I have heard them call me names behind my back. But none of them have found the guts to say it to my face, or undermine my authority. I dare them to try it. The ladies are worse off. I am older than most of them and they are all envious of me. I know they all wish that they were in my shoes. Skylight Properties do not take kindly to employees who disrespect their bosses. You can actually get sacked for disobeying your immediate boss or any of the managers or even anyone ahead of you in the company. I guess this rule have kept my staff in check. I laugh in French and Spanish combine.

Notwithstanding, I am a no nonsense person when it comes to work etiquette. I do my job very well and I don’t laze around. I guess my staff are just getting to know this part of me. They don’t play with any of the work I give them. Unlike before. You can’t believe the kind of excuses many of them give for not doing their jobs or completing a given task. Why do you want to get paid if you do not work? Some people actually have their brains fried.

So diary, due to my busy schedule at work, I try as much as possible to relax and have fun during the weekend. I have an accommodation allowance and I am thinking of getting a bigger place. I will change my furniture too and my electronics as well. Probably by summer, I will get it done. I am going to save for now.

I was in church this morning. I had to go, so I could give thanks to God. Something unimaginable happened to me yesterday. It all started when one of the managers at work invited me for her daughter’s wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and one could tell that they spent a lot of money. On my way home from the wedding reception, my car developed fault. I was so upset. I just had it serviced last weekend. Why was it misbehaving?

I called one of my mechanics, the one that helped me to change a flat tyre last month. The guy boarded a bike from wherever he was and he came to meet me at the place my car halted. Thank God he knew the area very well. He checked the vehicle and told me that he would need some cash to buy the things he needed to repair my car. Thank God I redrew some money that morning, on my way to the wedding. It’s always good to have some cash on you. You never can tell what you will need. The mechanic advised me to take a taxi home because; he wasn’t sure how long it would take for him to repair the car. Unfortunately, he might have to tow the car to his shop if he didn’t succeed.

I was already exhausted. I begged him to do his best. I needed the car on or before Sunday. He made promises, assuring me that he would bring the car home that night or at most on Sunday afternoon. I thanked him and walked to the nearest bus-stop. I refused to board the buses that came my way, even though they were going to my side of the town. I felt with my new job title, I couldn’t possibly be seen in a bus.

I waited at the bus-stop until I got a cab. When I tried calling my taxi driver friend earlier, he told me that he wasn’t in town. The driver agreed to take me home at a price that was twice the initial fee, but I wasn’t bothered. I just wanted to get home. I was already dreaming of taking a cold shower and sleeping in my bed. I sat at the backseat of this cab and began to browse on my phone. Suddenly, the driver swerved off the main road and nosed into a bushy path. I started to protest. I panicked and tried to get the car doors open, but, they were locked. The man stopped the car, turned around and blew a white substance into my face.

I slumped on the seat, feeling dizzy all of a sudden. I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t move any part of my body and I became very, very scared. What kind of trouble have I gotten myself into?! I said to myself. Why are bad, bad things always happening to me? I was beginning to feel like I was cursed or something.

The cab driver got down from the vehicle; he opened the door and dragged me out. I saw him empty the contents of my bag. He took my cash, phones and my ATM cards. He knelt beside me and took off my necklace, bracelets, ear-rings and wristwatch. He also took my shoes! My expensive shoes! He threw the complimentary cards in my bag at me and got back into his car. The thief drove off like a mad man. I don’t know how long I lay there in that bushy path, but I knew it got really dark. Then I started to feel strength surging into my body after a while. I crawled out of the bush path and staggered to the filling station I saw down the road.

I approached the filling station manager and explained to him that I had just been robbed. He borrowed me his phone and I began to call the numbers on the complimentary cards with me. No one picked my calls! I don’t know my mum’s or any of my siblings’ phone numbers by heart, unfortunately, I couldn’t call them. I made a decision right then and there to cram their numbers ASAP. I went through the complimentary cards again, and then I saw Mr. Nosa’s number. I didn’t want to call the man, but, I didn’t have a choice.

He picked my calls and came straight down with one of his drivers. He was happy that I wasn’t physically hurt. Mr. Nosa called his account officer and the woman was able to help me block my current and savings accounts. But, 200k had already been redrawn from my bank accounts.

Mr. Nosa promised to give me back the cash that was stolen from me, the phones and every other thing that I lost. That very night, he transferred a million naira into my account. When we got to the gate of my compound, I got down from the car and Mr. Nosa followed me into my apartment. He said he wanted to make sure that I was fine. I allowed him in; at least, I was grateful for his assistance. I was shocked when I saw the time on the wall clock. It was past eleven! I collapsed on my bed and covered myself with a blanket. I was so tired and all my bones ached terribly.

Mr. Nosa told me to take care of myself, but before he left, he asked me to think about his offer. He still wanted me to be his side chick. I was too tired to argue with the man. I pretended to be asleep and I was happy when he left.

This morning, I ran into the nearest church on my street to give thanks to God because he was the one that protected me last night. What if that cab driver was a ritualist? What if he had cut me open and taken my vital organs? What if he had also raped me, after robbing me? What if? What if? What if?

Oh diary, I am just thankful right now. I am thankful that I am still alive. I might still be far from God, but, that hasn’t stopped him from keeping me safe from harm. He is indeed the God of all creations.

Got to go diary. I can see that mechanic from my opened window. I hope he came with my car.

See yah later!

Mwaoh!
