Ummm,no. According to the World Bank Human Capital Index,an innovative capacity measure based on quality of education SA is way down the list in Naij territory. Ghana shocked me too, tbh. I uploaded the index when it came out early this year-its a very interesting read.

https://www.worldbank.org/en/data/interactive/2018/10/18/human-capital-index-and-components-2018

We tie with Algeria on the HCI at 0.52 but our education system is best in Africa as seen in harmonized test scores. I've said before with your expenditure on education you should be getting better outcomes but I strongly suspect its your teachers unions not properly pulling their weight.

The HCI provides a new definition of human capital and quantifies the contribution of health and education to the productivity of the next generation of workers. Countries can use it to assess how much income they are foregoing because of HC gaps, and how much faster they can turn these losses into gains if they act now.

Does not necessarily mean best education speaks on innovation , however is part and puzzle. It is not the complete picture of education system

In Namibia, I saw primary teachers driving new VW Golf or Polo. Those are proper middle-class countries. The rest of sub-saharan need to keep improving their lot until the day a primary school teacher can afford to buy a brand new car or the lowest of gov employee.

Here they all have proboxes,Alex,Vitz,Fit and those other Jap compacts.

The latest increment should put them at maybe 30% of RSA teachers pay.

SA budget is huge because primary, secondary and tertiary education is free to some extent, stationary, to some of educational trips.

But hopefully things will improve on the HCI

Unions are good in many instances but fails citizens by failing to discipline its bad apples

Abuja is the most developed per capita African built City only riveled by Eko. Deal with it. cool

Developed per capita? Never heard of such an index. Abuja lacks all the modern conveniences of a city. For starters there is no central water or sewage system and majority rely heavily on generators for electricity. It's just an organized mess!

Ghana is the second top study destination for US students in sub Saharan Africa

Ghana falls behind South Africa as the most popular country in Africa where US students are getting an education.

The 2019 Open Doors Report on international education shows 18.5% increase in 2018 in the number of US students attending universities and colleges in Ghana, from 1,865 to 2,210.

The number one spot is held by South Africa with 6,001 US students. This figure represents a drop of 0.7% from its 6042 students in 2017. This makes Ghana the only region in Sub Saharan Africa that has experienced the largest growth.

Currently, Sub Saharan Africa plays host to 14,416 US students which is 4% of the total number of the country’s study abroad population.

Benin, Nigeria, Sierra Leone in West Africa saw a marginal growth as a study destination for Americans schooling abroad.

On the other hand, Ghana also experienced an increase in the number of Ghanaian students attending universities and colleges in the United States.

The number of Ghanaian students attending universities and colleges in the United States now sits at 3,661. That is an overall 13.9% increase from that of the previous year.

This brings Ghana into second place in Sub-Saharan Africa, a spot previously held by Kenya. The number one spot is held by Nigeria, with 13,423 students.

Open Doors report on International Educational Exchange is a comprehensive information resource on international students and U.S. students studying abroad. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and is published by IIE.
