I wonder too. Has he no wife or any relations who could have put a call through to him? And when the calls weren't answered or returned, didn't anyone raise a concerned alarm? Perhaps he lived a solitary life devoid of any iota of friendships.

It's the Nigerian tendency to call even face-me-I-slap-you operations "hospital". When I read that it was two conjoined apartments I knew it was one of those misnomers but people always write the wrong thing.

The article says that the door was locked. Of course this means it was from within. Now was he running the clinic himself without nurses or workers? He uses power so PHCN didn't come calling? His car would have been parked outside, he must have scheduled patients for appointments, surely as a 65 year old medical doctor, he must have been experienced enough to consult at other clinics as well. This means he must have a professional network. And yet non of these checked on him at some point.

Probably his relatives had deserted or distanced themselves from him long before he died. If he was indeed someone valuable to them, they wouldn't wait for months to contact him. There are many affluent people like that in Nigeria, well-to-do but useless to people around them

The incident narrated, has many angles and loopholes. This puzzle needs a critical mindset to unravel. Firstly, he owns a hospital, right?: A. Is it a self run hospital or a consulting medical firm? B. Is the hospital on the outskirt of town or in a secluded location? C. Is the deceased a loner or an introverted person? D. Who were present when he made his travel arrangement? E. Can the detective get any witnesses as at the time he made the traveling arrangement? F. How can a detective(s) conclude on a crime case without forensic analyses; just mere observation? G. Is the smart phone he left on the scene not an alabi to the incident (it can unlock many breakthrough) H. Is the property manager or agent immuned from thorough questionable drilling? In security, everybody is a suspect including his relatives. Which leads to the next question I. Does the deceased have any misunderstandings with any of his family members in terms of marriage, property or attitude (a loner and an introvert)? MY OBSERVATION: . . .
