I never intended to hurt him, at least not that bad, and I must say I am truly sorry for hurting him, though, I won't stop calling him out whenever he wangles any information, especially when he does that to berate our homegrown talents to make the boroughs look like demigods. |

OMANBALA1:white feminists are extremists. A lot of you are just ignorant to their existence. Some months back, there was a Quora thread filled with white feminists, that we're talking about aborting their pregnancies because they didn't want to have sons. If you jam white feminists, you will know that there is no black woman that practices actual feminism. Black women that are still looking for make validation, people that are quick to be baby mamas and base their whole existence on being someone's wife, are those the people you are calling feminists? A lot of black men don't understand who a feminist is. Black women can be stubborn and aggressive because society has made them grow tough skins just like black men have been forced to become tough. Black women are the most maligned race in the world, because not only do they get insulted by other races, even the black men that should support them are also quick to malign them. Black women carry their families on their back and get insults for all their hard work, from men who barely do a thing to help in family building. Women like Serena Williams who black men constantly teased for having muscles and looking masculine, only to find love with a white man, who the same black men caimed wouldn't be able to handle her because he's white and has a 'small dick' (a lot of black men think their dick is all they have to offer the world. Pathetic really). When you read Joys of Motherhood and A Woman in her Prime, it gives you an idea of what black women in Africa have to face, but I am sure you have never read those books. All I see from you is ignorance and arrogance. Those are two things a lot of Nigerian men, especially those of Igbo extraction pride themselves in. 2 Likes |

Humility017:Humility, everybody is looking for respect in thes world, not just men If you respect a person, will they not respect you in return? Humility, do you know how many men in Nigeria, disrespect their wives constantly, by cheating? Is respect something only men deserve? Honestly, make it make sense So many Nigerian men want their wives to respect them, but they constantly disrespect their wives and allow others disrespect them. And when a woman decides she doesn't want to be disrespected anymore, she is tagged a feminist. If una jam feminist, una go shock. PS: The female lawyers I know that are married are very respectful, the women I met that didn't have any modicum of respect for their husbands were not even lawyers funny enough. One in particular, was a lecturer and the other one no even go school. 1 Like 1 Share |

OMANBALA1: Feminism, especially as preached in Nigeria, has greatly DERAILED from it's humble beginnings. Today, it is a TOTAL DISASTER! And a means of churning out BROKEN, DAMAGED young women. Check all of them, they're bad mannered, rebellious, insulting, unmarriable. The feminists today have left the core virtues and inclination to family to chase after stupid frivolities. I don't even see or hear Chimamanda talk about very disturbing issues facing the girl child like female genital mutilation or equal access to education or even equal playing field for both genders across profession. Or even be a louder and proactive voice against rape. Nada. She only goes about talking about how a woman shouldn't kneel to give her husband the wine during traditional marriage or how men shouldn't help a woman open the car door because it means the woman is weak or how women should not have to drop their maiden name for their husband's name or how women should keep multiple partners because men do the same. Just a load of complete rubbish! If I chance upon that lady one on one, in Igbo I will give her a dressing down she will take to her grave. Rubbish. 2 Likes |

iSlayer:Chimamanda talks about these things now, haba. You are practicing selective hearing Chimamanda's feminism is not what is practiced in Nigeria. It is the Tonto Dikeh and Toke Makinwa brand of feminism you see in Nigeria The feminism in Nigeria is fake. The women want to do the same things men do without responsibilities, but not everything. Feminism in Nigeria is focused more on sexual liberation; it is women who want to have sex as they like, and collect money from men as they like, without society judging them for sleeping around. They want to use their bodies as tools to make money from men, while still vilifying men for seeing them as sexual objects. That is not extremism. Nigerian feminism is a JOKE. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Feminism is one of the vices used in the US by the inventors which re the whites to break the African American homes. The reason is to cause disunity and also prevent them from having larger families and bond. Another is the policy the American govt implemented that supports single parent America women financially. Many of these women go to the length of driving their men out of their homes just to get these entitlements from their govt. Blueelf: |

safarigirl: Gbam. You took the words out of my mouth I feel the original motives behind feminism means equal rights for women; in terms of work and pay as well as Education. Not to be insisting your husband does the cooking while you stream Netflix. That one should be voluntary (I don't even have a problem with that as long as it is under special circumstances). Feminism has become a breeding ground for bitter females thus overcrowding the true feminists with genuine intentions. |

charlesemeka85:lol....feminism did not break African American homes, it is prison that broke those homes. Feminism came about due to all the broken homes White America convinced black men that their women were unattractive, manly and aggressive and white women were better. Black men believed the propaganda and started going after the same white women that got a kick out of falsely accusing them of rape. Black men believed it so much, they started taunting black women with it. Black women also started believing it, they started believing their features were unattractive because the whole world said so. Every other race glorifies their features except the black race. Black people think black features are ugly on black people. The media messed the black race up and the black race picked up from where the media left off and are messing themselves up. Only black men come on the internet to call their women ugly, aggressive and manly. On the average, more white women murder their partners, but you will never see white men come online and call their women psychopaths. The same way colonialists came here and convinced Africans that their culture was useless and their gods impotent, they threw it all away and welcomed all the white man's recommendations and look how far the black race has gone in it's race to self implosion. You people really think feminism is the problem, when it has always been the low self esteem that black people have. Y'all have been played by the White man and still getting played while fighting each other. |

the one you re talking is only practiced in Africa which I fully support but the main one na for US especially you go see am and pple wey carry am for head na African American women. The mentality of an average African American woman is once she has a decent paying job, owns a house and car which they acquire via mortgage then all men can go to hell because they don't need one but will prefer having numerous sex mates to warm her bed anytime she wants Blueelf: |

safarigirl: Once your "genderize" any issue like that you've gone into the realms of today's feminism. You just took a careless argument and divided it into man vs woman preferential treatment. Why? You can't make that point without taking it that way? That is how it starts. And no, Chimamanda goes beyond that with her shitty gospel that is misdirecting young ladies and leading them the wrong way. |

safarigirl: both husband and wife deserve respect.... you made so much wisdom especially in your first 2 paragraph.... I once had a feminist friend who even kicked against the Bible and the existence of God, she called the Bible a misadrist book self.... since that day I became afraid of feminists most ladies who are lawyers i have come across are feminists save for one of your class mate... she knows you so well, she was even the one who told me you were at Yola(law school) but you see I don't know for others... me just want a woman who will honour the Bible with me as couples I don't need any man made principles to live by so all this chauvinist and feminism doctrines don't wanna hear them in my house at all..... issue of disrespect amongst couples is more of character and values upbringing but doctrines like this feminism and chauvinism theories still play some roles..... many feminists are bitter women, some can be loved into submission from my observation but still that word "feminism" scares me |

Blueelf:it is equal rights in every facet of life. It is saying, let us work TOGETHER to build a family It is saying let us share the Bills in a marriage AND the House Chores. It is saying Let us Make Decisions as a team. Let my work be recognised as much as yours. My father used to cook at home some times. My Father did his own laundry sometimes. My mother paid bills, my mother paid school fees too. Marriage is "When I cook the meals, my husband should join me in washing dishes at least" it is not "Let me cook, clean and serve him while he sits and watches the latest football game" it is "while I'm in the kitchen, let him help the kids with home work" Women are not saying they want the roles switched, feminism is finding a balance both at home and at work. So many men seem to not understand this concept. My parents were not perfect, but their relationship was ideal in my eyes and that is what my own concept of a marriage should be. 1 Like |

Madam u won't understand because you re a woman. Those women are hell on earth if u settle or mingle with any though they have the good ones. In Africa it takes a good, patient and submissive woman to build a home and keep it together unlike what is obtainable in the African American comminitees. Alot of them intentionally frustrates their men even to the extend of setting them up to be imprisoned so that they can be free coupled with the support they get from the government. The worst of it all is they turn their kids against their fathers. Those pple matter no be here abeg safarigirl: 1 Like 1 Share |

Humility017: Issue of disrespect in African homes can also stem from how the man treats the Lady. Make we no lie, we men for Africa can be very difficult and make life difficult for African women. You'll see one unemployed African man (lost his job maybe) expect his hardworking wife who leaves home by 6am and comes back by 8:30pm to cook and clean for him and the kids. Hell also forcefully demand sex from the tired woman (no small small romance to relieve her stress, nothing) and still expect her to be loving and submissive. No way, one day she gets fed up and joins feminism movement. |
