unite4real: Anyway, it depends on how you looked at it the same stock market where i loose my first million an hard earned money for that matter also made me millions i used for TB and will make me my first $ 1m with patience i grow the money yearly. I went back to my drawing board do my own serious research and reading then change my investment strategy and also i dont allow broker to tell me stock to buy again i trade online myself so am in control of my portfolio. i have tabulated my target on an excel in my laptop and this guide my investment objective and the strategies i can use to achieve my target. there is still plenty of monies to be made in the economy and the most important thing for me is that the money must be working for me from january to december. I love risk taking and i will never leave stock exchange no matter the mago mago they do there. Know your entry period and exit time very important. 5 Likes |

For those shouting TB till 5% and below that's EXACTLY what cbn want and it's working out for them. As long as their OFFER gets oversubscribed rates will keep going down even to below 1%. Abi if una be EMELIFE will you borrow @10% when investors are ready to oversubscribe @ 1% Rates can ONLY rise when investors start shunning their TB as for me and my household we are relocating fully to the stock market when my last tb matures next month. No time for RUBBISH. 9 Likes |

unite4real: Standing firm to what one believes is the yardstick to success, I've lost money in many businesses in d past, so i know the pain's that come with a loss, now i believe every naira count.if i don't or can't generate at least 15% on my capital, i don't spend out of it. same here I've got Tbs maturing come February n will love to invest in bonds, do you by any chance know n can expatiate on FG bonds, not saving bonds, I've been asking my bank fbn/stanbic,none of them seems to know about these bonds that pay coupons biannual. Will be splitting my funds come next year. on mmf, tbs, transportation, bonds and of course Ghana tbs |

Akin3891: It is usually very tricky with FGN bonds. One rule of thumb is, always keep your eyes on the yield to maturity. For example, a bond could have a coupon rate of 15% and you are told that the yield is 10%. If u don't want to mess up with your head, just look at that 10% as your annual interest on your capital. Although you will be earning the 15% but on a lowered principal. For example, if you want to invest 8M on a bond paying 15% coupon and the yield is 10%; you will buy that bond with more than 8M depending on the year to maturity. Let's say you got the 8M bond at 10M, your coupon payments every 6 months will be 15% of 8M and your principal at maturity is 8M and not 10M. At the end of the day, if u factor in your initial 10M put in the bond, you will realize your interest is actually 10%. So if u want a bond, keep an eye on the yield unless you are getting it in the primary market and it's a new bond issue. Your bank or discount house should help you. With banks, always patronize the headquarters or main branch Inna state or region so u can easily meet people with the knowledge 14 Likes 1 Share |
