Kwankwanso would have lost relevance by losing Kano to Hurricane Buhari since 2015.

Dino and the other Northern PDP heavyweights just decided to shoot themselves on the foot by their actions prior to the 2015 election. If they had been patient with Jonathan and supported him to win the 2015 election, by now Atiku would have effortlessly become president while Dino would probably have become governor of kogi state. But no, they rather decided to retire themselves politically thinking that it'll be easy to recover power from APC.

If not for those northern PDP politicians ehn, Buhari wouldn't have smelt ASO rock. Those men (Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, Atiku, Saraki, Dino etc) were the people that handed power to Buhari! If they had remained in PDP without collapsing their structures into what's now known as APC, not even a thousand Tinubu and his over hyped media prowess would have made Buhari win. Even Buhari understands that fact.

These politicians had their bases in areas where Buhari was already popular.
They simply latched on to the popularity of Buhari to remain relevant.

Without Kwankwanso and Saraki, APC would still have won Kano and Kwara.

Without being in the APC, it would have been impossible for Saraki to emerge Senate President in 2015 even if he manages to win Kwara Central Senatorial seat.

APC would still have won Adamawa without Atiku in 2015.

If Dino wasn't in APC, he would not have won PDP's senatorial ticket let alone become a Senator in 2015!

Truthfully,they contributed to Buhari's electoral success in 2015 but they gained more than what they contributed.


This is the reason their political fortunes nosedived in 2019 after leaving Buhari.
