The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, has expressed regret over the failure of the last locomotive train scheduled to convey passengers from Abuja-Kaduna on Tuesday. Naijadriva earlier reported that on Tuesday, hundreds of passengers trekked to the Rigasa Station after the train broke down some meters to the terminal. Yakub Mahmood, NRC’s Deputy Director, Public Relations, said this in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja. The management of the NRC expresses its regrets over the failure of the locomotive on last train of Abuja-Kaduna Train Service of Tuesday, at the outer home signal of Rigassa station, Kaduna. NRC hereby apologies for all the inconveniences this incident may have caused all our esteemed passengers on board,’’he said. Mr Mahmood, however announced that the uninterrupted train services between the Abuja-Kaduna route had since resumed accordingly. I am not surprised that the train broke down... The train route has been experiencing heavy traffic of recent since people no longer want to travel by road thanks to kidnappers It is likely that they've not taken out time to service the trains due to the heavy traffic 42 Likes 2 Shares |

They should thank their stars that it didn't break down in the kidnappers territory. That could have been a bumper harvest for the criminals 32 Likes 2 Shares |

Are you surprised as a Nigerian Citizen!.... So Sir, your apology was accepted before the rail project started..... Meanwhile the rail should be connected to other parts of the country before the project becomes a Northern Idea and benefits |

So that the services would become monopolized by a few ? everything can not be privatized, essential services such as these needs to be handled by the government for easy accessibility and affordability. jeron1: 2 Likes |

A one off situation, a more dignifying thing to do is to refund the passengers or give them a free ride 2 Likes |
