CBN is ok with stamped duty cash and cash derived from other tax sources.
Why is the President now asking for external loan approval?
I strongly believe the cash already gathered should be enough to finance all the projects.
I'm still looking.
that loan are for projects which were planned during the first term...let's wait for the shocker for this 2nd tenure which would be 2020-2022...

Third time my TBill failed to go through. What is wrong with CBN? It's like many are investing on TBills while running away from actual business. embarassed

Congratulations.

So what happened to the 65M. I thought you went for that so that a 10% can bring it down to 6.5M

grin grin grin

I don't know whether that was the reason for the successful bid.

Let's see if anyone suffered prorating, that would help us decide.

What if dollar falls next year?

Since Aug 2017 CBN has artificially held USD rates to boost their 2nd term ambition.

Now that we are in NEXT LEVEL the chances of NAIRA crashing by next year are HIGH.

This what MOST investors chasing low TB rate aren't DISCOUNTING.

Hello fellows
Going by this new drop in rates by CBN, we need to carefully analyse what will likely happen next year with regards to rates.
My thought:
Cbn might be aligning with borrowing cost as referenced in d proposed national budget .so there's d need for us to study that budget
It could be that cbn in its attempt to free up d foreign exchange market next as rumored by aligning all markets to one n allow d interactions of demand n supply is reducing cost of borrowing in exchange for any surprises in d forex market.
It is also important to get n study cbn's budget with that of DMO.
I also believe all of this might be coming on d advices of d New National Economic team or advisory

Please let's all dialogue

Sorry for derailing this forum.
Someone is planning for long term investment and he wants to know how much quarterly interest he will make if he decides to invest 7.5m in FGN Savings Bond for 3yrs at 14% rate.
He's planning to go into this whenever CBN is done with its magic policy.

It seems GTbank is not even ready to participate in NTB again, 2 primary market auction without success and account officer daily saying no secondary market, may have to port to another bank.

Thank God people here have been able to decode that it is a Microfinance Bank and would not bother risking their hard earned money there. I wish to further advice that you should not try to lure families, relatives and neighbours to invest there as you are likely to become enemies down the line after such investment. Majority of Microfinance Bank owners in Nigeria are not very sincere and may likely mismanage or varnish with people's money. Once that happens, the people that come through you only know you and as such will want to get their money back from you. Which may not be possible because by then the CEO would have disappeared with it.

We find it convenient to kill and destroy our own with unsubstantive reports. Further charging the nation negatively. As the cloud of negativity continues to overshadow many efficient legitimate businesses/organizations.

It gives Nigerians pleasure to give negative reports with the typical attitudes filled with cynicism.

I visited Lapo earlier in the year, and it wasn't the regular Lapo or regular micro finance of yester years. You guys are doing a great job with improved professionalism

The rule remains Facts before and above emotions

The support will certainly stop. Then, every importer is left to source for dollars in free market where forces of demand and supply hold sway. With much Naira pursuing dollars, exchange rate most likely will not favour the Naira; hence loss in buying power of the Naira.
From all indications, I sense devaluation of the Naira in no sooner than later (I stand to be corrected).
The Federal government has tried to hold the Naira afloat for so long and may not be ready/able to maintain status quo going forward. But, can the Naira withstand the effect of free market? This is rhetorical Inquisition, just ponder!

I think it is highly imperative for us to have a trained economist instead as CBN governor
