Aba is largely a dilapidated town filled with garbage but this governor is trying to do something. Though it will take Aba another 100yrs of consistent work to come to the present level of other SE cities and towns. 2 Likes

kampari: We know your types. It is SE and SS when it suits your sorry ass. Then it becomes you and you alone when your anal retentive and tribal urges kick in. You can't force anyone to use your airport. Let SS enjoy their world class amenity alone. Igbos can trek from Douala/Yauonde or N'Djamena to get home in Alaigbo. We are doing just fine, thank you. 4 Likes |

Why are you angry over nothing? Are you the one that pays for air ticket of passengers? Why do you think you can dictate to anyone on the choice of their airport? Mind you, PH is part of eastern region. Don't be deceived by "SE and SS" coinage. Port Harcourt international airport is for eastern region. whirlwind7: 2 Likes |

Abia1stSon: ABIA STATE PARTICULARLY ABA IS ALMOST 100% DILAPIDATED WITH FILTH OVER FLOWING ON EVERY ROAD. EVEN THE FAULKS ROAD OKEZIE RECONSTRUCTED RECENTLY HAS COLLAPSED COMPLETELY YET AGAIN AS SHOWN BELOW. TAKE NOTE THAT FAULKS ROAD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ROAD IN ABIA STATE PARTICULARLY ABA.

I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF ABA FLYOVER UNDER CONSTRUCTION SINCE 5YRS AGO. IT HAS BEEN TURNED INTO A MARKET PLACE. EVERYTHING IN ABA IS ABOUT MARKET. THERE'S NO ORGANISATION, NO ORDER, EVERYWHERE IS A DISORGANIZED MARKETS, FILTH AND BAD ROADS. WILL SHARE THE PICTURES TOO . THIS IS THE FIRST FLYOVER IN ABIA STATE SINCE IT WAS CREATED. |

kampari: I am not "angry over nothing" I agree I'm not purchasing tickets for anyone or dictate what airport to use. Yes, Igbos aren't responsible for the SE and SS appellation. But the majority of people from the SS absolutely welcome it. It serves their purpose and it helps them argue their point of them being different from Igbos. Thats their cup of shyte. As for the airport, let it serve the people from Rivers, Bayelsa and adjoining states. It belongs to them. Let them enjoy it until it gets redundant from disuse. The typical Nigerian story. True blood Igbos know it isn't for them. We have our airport at Enugu. Owerri would have served when Enugu was closed down (just like Kaduna served when Abuja airport was closed down for repairs) but a bitter FG wouldn't have that. Trying to stifle Enugu and divert our traffic to PH is just another shenanigan from the FG. We expect that. After all, we as Igbos no longer expect fair treatment from FG. Ain't crying over that. Just being real. As Igbos, you don't tell us where to use and what to do. Granted, some will use PH airport out of convenience. That's their prerogative. Broadly speaking, discerning Igbos would wait to use either Enugu or Owerri airports. You can't keep depriving people and expect them to go along with it indefinitely. Power is transient. This FG and it's anti Igbo agendas will pass. But Igbos shall remain. We always will. FYI: the Uli airstrip in Anambra was the busiest airfield during the war, despite the regular bombardment from FG. Till this day, no airport in Nigeria has come close to the air traffic record it set during war time. That should tell you a lot. 3 Likes |

Long lines of typing in pain, anger and tears is not gonna help you here bro. The airports in Enugu, Owerri are all more or less state's air strips, not even regional. You better start facing reality. No one is stifling your air strip, because ab initio it was not fit to serve due to so many deficits and dilapidated runway. Good a thing the runway reconstruction has begun but how many months if not years that it will take is still largely unknown. Port Harcourt international airport is the only truly international airport servicing the eastern region(SE and SS). Igbos are now using Port Harcourt international airport for oversee travels instead of going to Abuja or Lagos. Port Harcourt international airport is our own(igbos inclusive). whirlwind7:

You know what's funny? Your laying emphasis on the statement that PH airport is meant for Igbos as well. Like, if you recite it a thousand times, you as well as others who hear it, might begin to believe it See, if PH becomes the natural substitute for Enugu, nobody would bleat so loud and implore Igbos to use it. Igbos would naturally flock to use the facility in droves. You can't beat a natural winner. So, be steadfast enough to fully convince yourself. Igbo passengers will come soon. Typing in pains and anger? Me? Well, aren't you the conductor hustling for Igbo passengers? Nah, I'm fine. Actually, I'm copacetic. I don't get emotional when I'm being matter of fact. Keep hustling for more Igbo air traffic passengers. Christmas is around the corner. kampari: 1 Like |
Re: . by kampari: 11:32am On Nov 29, 2019 |
Nwokem stop crying onto this matter. It is bigger than you. Hustling for traffic? Are you sane? Please check the airport traffic, PH is among the tops. So why would they beg anyone? There are only truly 4 international airports in Nigeria- PH, LAGOS, ABUJA AND KANO. Every other airport you have out there are more or less state airport. Top big businessmen doesn't need your village advice on which airport to use. Igbo are capitalists and they go for convenience and cost effective things. Even the little time Ethiopia was allowed to fly into Akanu airport, it still witnessed very little traffic compared to the poorly maintained one in Imo state. Port Harcourt international airport is an eastern international airport. Deal with or respond so we can continue the debate. whirlwind7: |
