Lol you talk as if it was just Nani and Berbatov just so you can have a go at the ones you despair. In that move, Evra was pivotal. Notice when he reverse the pass to Berbatov he kept bombing forward and in the edge of the box you had Anderson with Rooney and Park dragging defenders all over the place. In one attack, we have 5 players in or around the box. On Sunday it wasn't the case until we were 2 goals down.

Our full.backs, Young, Luke, etc also keep bombing forward. Don't make it look like out full backs dont cross the half line.

Nani's beaking that defnder opened that space. Without that skill, all the effort will amount to nothing. This is the probem today, our forwards lack the dribbling skillls to indibudially open huge space.

Have you watched Leicester dis season?, do you honestly think Ayoze perez, Jamie vardy and Harvey Barnes have better dribbling skills than james, Martial and Beanz?

Dylan Levitt is a talent. Really hope they build his body so that he can adapt to the EPL without losing his talent.

That boy has a good vision and his passing intelligence is impressive.

I was greatly impressed with his willingness to make forward passes and his press resistance.

I saw him pick teammates in tight spaces and make incisive forward passes.

His movements sef Dey impressive. He passes the ball and then moves into space for a return pass or to draw away the opponent.

That is why some months ago i expressed my surprise at the fact that he appeared to have been overlooked with all the hype going to the usual suspects (Greenwood, Gomes, Chong, Garner).

In terms of passing he is the best of the lot, and to be honest i expected more from him yesterday.
He showed his press resistance and possession play ability but he didn’t really show his long range passing ability (maybe because Astana sat so deep most of the time).

Like Rashford and McTominay (who were not really hyped at youth level) have shown us, it is hard to predict which youth player will make it to the senior team. With so many potential players with this set though it will be a travesty if none of them does.

Some weeks back, I think it was Nani's birthday, clips of his goals and skills flooded Twitter and he was getting all the praise whilst most folks spent time demeaning our current crop but I like a few others knew too well it was the same Nani much like Rashford and Martial that frustrated fans when he was here maybe he was a bit better but then, he played with much better players and he was more experienced. I have seen Rashford chop defenders with that move, Martial too has his fair share of great moments but you can't compare how easier it was to play alongside the crop of players we had then and now.

Levitte was really impressive alongside Garner. Hopefully the duo alongside Hamilton will form the nucleus of our midfield together with Pogba, Mctom and Fred. There's hope for our midfield. Now, we need to acquire Haaland and perhaps Fernandez and United will be formidable once more.

If Greenwood and Levitt don’t make it into the first team, questions should be asked of the coaches.

Those guys are pure talents. It would be a real shame if they are mismanaged like Januxaj and co.

Hype or no hype, talented youth players should be coached and mentored into becoming outstanding first team players.

We can have Martial, Haaland and Greenwood as CF choices next season.

That looks exciting.

If Martial goes on his customary injury or disinterested run, the other two can pick up the mantle.

It only remains if we’ll have a playing system that can unlock packed defenses as well as kill them with counters. Greenwood for one can play in both systems, he just needs to develop his physical side. Don’t know about Martial and Haaland.

We still need at least one experienced winger or midfield player though.

Haaland looks exactly Ole's kind of player, quick feets, good in aerial battles, can play across the front three and an eye for goal. Looks strong too but don't know if he's a match for the EPL aggressive type of soccer. We will see if we do get him.

Nani was not frustrating. At one time he was at CR7 level. That should be when Antonio Valencia broke his leg and Nani was the one giving assits and creating space for the team. He was only frustrating to those who expected him to have the consistency and productivity of CR7. As for me, I just needed him to be the space creator when matches became hard. Today we need another person like that.

Rashford and Martial are not in same level with Nani in terms of opening space with dribbling. They arw far below. But it terms of goal scoring, they are better than Nani.

Overall, we dont have the right mic of forward players we should have. Dribblers, scorers, intellihent passers, strong in the air.

After 18 months, you will be here leading a chorus why Pochetino must go, and why we should hire Bredan Rogers.

Another 18 months you hear of another coach that is doing well, and you sing Rogers must go.

The problem with your argument is that you're looking at Nani as an individual without taking into context the quality of players he played with. In that clip you shared, I could see Evra, Anderson, Park, Rooney who are all better than what we currently parade...

I'm sure if you look at the starting line up of that team, even De Gea will struggle to displace Van Der Sar. Now imagine a Martial or Rashford in that team surrounded with top players and a world class coach in Fergie, won't they look better? At least I'm certain Martial is a very good dribbler.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 9:39am On Nov 30, 2019
If we fail to take 3 pts tomorrow, then Ole should go, we have to start on the front foot and bury chances as they come if not it will be tough because if Aston Villa grow into the game, they can be very difficult. Their midfield is also very good.

Is McTominay available? If not, it should be Fred and Garner in midfield with Lingard at the top of the triangle.

If we fail to beat Aston Villa, we're done for. Cuz we have Spurs and City next, both in the space of one week.

The thing is I am not even sure that we'll win...You wonder if Villa puts up the performance they put up against Pool, do we have enough to down them?

Then what are we saying? Our attacking forward are substandard when collectively rated. Which is why our chances creation ability is below expectation.

Nevertheless, Nani was best at what he was known for 'minus a defender' swiftly to create a huge space. No one again has been able to do that.
............

Of all the players I’ve played with during my career, if I wanted someone to beat someone 1 vs 1 & it was do or die he would have been one of my first picks for sure. He can go either way, off either foot, tricky & lightening quick – a defenders nightmare!

The above statement by Rio Ferdinand summarises my argument. Nani was better than Ronaldo in minusing a defender in a tight space while not in motion. I stand, you stand and I still dribble you. Rashford and Martial should not come into this kind of debate.
