Freelance Programmers Come In Here. by Grandlord: 12:44pm On Aug 27, 2019 |
So I'm looking to learn programming so as to be able to offer freelance services online on sites like Upwork and Fiverr. I'd like to get valuable information from anyone who's currently doing this. So your answer to these few questions would definitely be of great help. a) Is it profitable? b) How is the market like? c) What fields? of programming are mostly sought after? -Web dev. -App dev. -Games. -Data analysis. -Machine learning etc. Thanks. cc: booksrite001 icode2 Debramaye Javanian Mastergramnet |

Well I'm not really into the freelance thing (selling services on upwork etc) , programming is more like a hobby I enjoy because it feels good building my own custom music player or converting my websites into mobile friendly apps(which is easy by the way), fixing bugs with already existing apps (like removing annoying ad codes that freeze my phone),............. I have a job which does not relate to programming or app building in anyway, just a normal 9-5 job to keep myself together and handle some of my personal bills... on the average programming can fetch you some cool cash if you work for a company or stuff, but I don't know about the freelance world as client requests might be something unrealistic or difficult or they might trick you into sending the complete work and run away leaving you empty handed (happens alot) But my advice, don't do it just for the money that will be a huge mistake.. Programming is hard it requires creativity and alot brain work, more like putting pieces of a puzzle together.. If you don't play puzzle games like sudoku, tic tac toe etc your likelihood of solving problems in coding is minimal and will leave your program or app with so many bugs (ask Seun why he hasn't made upgrades to this forum for years ) Anyways programming is driven by passion and alooot of frustrating trails and errors, if you can't deal with the above mentioned move to Photoshop or video editing, or maybe web development lol (there are alot of of web developers nowadays) Besides there are some shortcuts ie hacking which I cannot discuss here Goodluck 6 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Freelance Programmers Come In Here. by Grandlord: 4:34pm On Aug 27, 2019 |
Debramaye:Interesting. I have a cool job too but I don't wanna stress anymore. I just wanted something I could do from home or anywhere, if you know what I mean. I love me some challenges. I think I'd cope pretty well with the negatives you pointed out. Hacking? sounds cool! I'd like to know more about it( ethical hacking that is). Send me a DM let's roll yeah? |

Grandlord:Lol hacking is not a part of me I'm proud of and don't like to talk about much often, many hackers will tell you this "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ETHICAL HACKING" ... The power wielded from the simplest form of hacking is already too much to corrupt someone not to talk of advanced methods like data base hacking, dehashing passwords, session stealing, botnet scripting and all that.. And you can contact me on Instagram, it's on my signature 1 Like |

Grandlord: You need reputation to stand out on those platforms. This requires a lot of work. Your best friend however is speed and quality. You must master these two to have good ratings. So you'll buildup your credibility from scratch. Offer lower prices first then delivery OK. You'll build your profile slowly and then you can turn it into an empire. Before all these, you must get your gigs right. You must research, learn and sell yourself. The jobs there are dynamic and you just have to do whatever you know. There is no room to learn there. It's all about delivering. All the best. 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: Freelance Programmers Come In Here. by Grandlord: 3:52pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
MasterGramnet:Design is cool. All that UI/UX stuff, but I'm a curious person and I love to know what's going on in the background. So I feel good when I manipulate the backend. |
Re: Freelance Programmers Come In Here. by MasterGramnet(m): 4:40pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
Grandlord:Cool, But You Still Will Be Needing An Extensive Experience In Web Design(front-end) To Be Able To Handle The UI/UX Stuff. Back-end Mainly Focus On The Database Or Unless You Want To Specialise On That. To Be Complete In This Area, You Need Time. All The Same, You Can Still Meet Up If You Trust Yourself. 1 Like 1 Share |
