Most computer chips production knowledge are only harbored by these companies and tends not to share it even anytime soon.
Same thing goes with the networking industries and so on.


Even the iphone you all hailed apple for in the world today has got only the board, lightning port, cables and the OS developed by apple. The rest components are produced and supplied by intel (apple A13 bionic chip), Samsung (OLED panel), ID3 Disk (iphones main internal memory drive) and the assembly isn’t even done by apple, it’s handled by a Chinese base company in shenzen. A company fostered by apple in 2010.

u are right about sourcing components, but the actual design of the engine itself is actually done by the companies before placing orders for the various components to build the engine
