Lmao
Funny you

Funny enough the laptop will push better graphics and better frames than your console

I know, but why give myself a hernia just because I want to play PC games? A console is also way cheaper than a gaming PC. Heat (generated a lot while gaming) is the worst hardware killer.

The Alienware series have once of the best airflow designs in the history of laptop
Hence the bulkiness and weight
Larger surface area to dissipate heat
Have you ever seen an Alienware over heating?
The size and weight contains substance
Not just plastic

It is called a laptop for a reason. What I mean is transporting the bulky device from point A to B, something buyers will do a lot of.

I know a guy who bought one of these in the past. He developed uneven shoulders from favouring his right side when carrying it in bags. I see owning one as a form of menial labour.

Your friend obviously did the unsmart thing

Carrying a laptop of such weight and favoring one shoulder
Isn't the normal thing to do is distributing the weight on both shoulders

There's a difference between mobile laptops and everyday laptops, the Alienware is obviously mobile but wasn't intended to be carried around everyday
Brands like razer are making devices for everyday carry

Well, another con against the device. My video game console recommendation is the best bet then.

No sir it's not the best
Having a custom build desktop is still the best

Lmao...never read something so wrong in my entire time on nairaland.

True, their airflow design is alright , but Alienwares have one if the worst heating problems , infact maybe top 3 worst thermals . It's just this their flagship area 51 that's okay in thermals.

Why is this ? They use very low quality thermal pastes . And there is a good explanation for that , if you care I can give a good explanation. But in terms of thermals , they have been doing a terrible job. Imagine buying a 2000$ laptops and having to unvervolt and repaste. Out of the box, CPU clocking high 80s and 90 degrees. Worse, t M15 hitting a 100 degrees .

OP sorry for derailing your thread. It's also well to note that once you undervolt and repaste , you get the very best performance on the Alienware.

It's going to be difficult explaining via text , so it's better to watch the videos on YouTube.

The only thing you would have to buy us a thermal paste. It's about 3k or so on jumia, but I don't really know much about those thermal pastes , I advice you order kyronaut thermal paste on Amazon.

It's a very very easy process, but not to get mixed up, just watch videos on YouTube, preferably a YouTube page called OwnOrDisOwn.

What the process entails :

Undervolting : A very safe menthod of limiting the amount of voltage going into the system ( note , it's very safe) using a software , preferably msi after burner , hence reducing the amount of heat generated .

Repasting: just raising your heat sink, cleaning off the old past on the GPU and CPU and applying new past. Place the heat sink back and screw your laptop back.

You get excellent cooling and save your hardware some more years.

THanks for the info.

I will surely look it up.

You mentioned amazon...are you in 9ja?

Do you get your items delivered in 9ja. If yes, how do you go about that.

I dey fear to transact Amazon since after I ordered spare battery for my then laptop Dell N4050 sometime in 2015 and never got it. Maybe its the seller sha.
