For your own safety xef, you should be the one to open the booth for security officers and observe while they check, besides, I think it is your duty to open you booth. So I think the riders were right to flair up

I could be wrong though.

Not sure about being right or wrong though. I can use my mirrors to see what the security at the gate are doing when I open my booth. Having to leave strangers in my car is more frightening. I do not trust strangers like that. If I will have to get down from my car, they too will have to get out with me. I'm extra security conscious. I trust no one and hate to be caught off guard. You may be trusting riders just because you think they are of some importance, for me, I trust none and do not play to the gallery.

I'm not trying to disrespect your choices

But if you were a rider, and a driver asks you to come down, simply because he wants to open his trunk for security check, how would you feel?

you should ALWAYS make a habit of being at your boot when it is being checked.
our men in black have been running a scam on and off where they plant drugs when you are not looking.
sometimes ANYONE can be in on such a scam.

I will get out with the driver if that's what he wants. So long as he's polite about it. Some people here are not getting the point. I am not against going out to open my booth for security check, I have done that for police a couple of times before. Point is, I cannot leave strangers I met in less than a minute to remain in my car while I'm out, not when I have valuables there.

And you think riders cannot plant stuffs in your car? Let's assume that was a proper police check: You get down to open the trunk while leaving a rider in the car, rider is having a weapon or a banned substance, gets nervous knowing that the police may search him as well when they are done with the booth, drops the substance in the car, maybe on the driver's side. Police comes to search the car and finds what rider dropped. Rider denies knowing about it. Tell me who will be held? This scenario would have played out in real life. You should never let your guard down. Everyone is a suspect, police, rider, etc. Na naija we still dey oo.

Well, I'll be embarrassed as a rider if a driver tells me to step out of his car because he wants to step out too

So as a driver, what I do is

I put any valuable in the drivers door compartment
I put my money in my pocket
And I switch off and remove my keys when stepping out

And oh.. I also leave my door open too. That way, the rider can't take shiit.

But then, you're still right though

Nope, a rider will need to get the f*ck out. Lol I don't have time to be parking stuffs from my car. That will even be more embarrassing than a simple polite ask for the rider to go out with you.

Please how much can I get a driving licence and how long does it take to be ready?

10500 for driving school and 13000 for license (3 years) or 18k for 5years... And it take 22 to 60 working days. But they will give you a cover note the next day showing you are processing your license

Bro for real, don’t do HP with a Nigerian used car.
Test the waters with rentals. Forget all these mechanics, I took one to buy my previous car, a kia cerato; from everything is okay, I ended up spending over 200k changing parts in the next two months.

Don’t allow anyone pressure you into the unknown. There are many partners that will do less than 2mil on a Nigerian used car.

Do rentals first or else your other business will suffer the consequences.

Thanks guys. I appreciate each and everyones concern and advice. I have turned the offer, though I got another for 2.8m. corolla 2006. Toks. For HP also...

I respect your opinion. Saying the riders were right to flair up wasn't about placing importance on them. You could have kept valuable items in your safe to avoid suspecting every rider that comes into your car.

It is wrong to insinuate a rider will steal your items if you leave the car, you could avoid that by simply keeping the items in the safe and lock.

For safety purpose as well, it is always advised someone opens his booth himself for security officers to check and observe them.

But, I see your angle and respect your opinion.

If you have a flat tyre while on a trip in a hot afternoon, would you a ask your rider to step out in the sun till you finish changing your tyre? I will advise you to keep valuables at home when you want to work or lock it up in the glove box. Another option, put your valuable where all eyes can see if you have to step out so you can easily know if it's missing by the time you step back in
