Very true. Was driving with my friend this morning on gbagada express way to turn to ikorodu road and was flagged down by lastma,I checked only to realize that my friend wasn't wearing seatbelt. They brought out their phone taking pictures et all, I just bone. They asked me to get down I turned the engine off and took my keys, they requested for driving license i gave them the colured photocopy.(I made sure i parked terribly so as to cause mad traffic). They requested for my keys and i told them nobody will drive this car but me. They asked my friend to get down he refused. I asked lastma to go in behind he refused. I lock up. They started videoing again and we both remained silent.
They Called the towing truck but the traffic I already created was crazy as nigerians were shouting and hauling insults at them. I told the latma officials that it Is only when a driver refuses to go to the office that they can tow the car so I won't allow them tow the car. They placed a call to their boss and handed me the phone and he read out the law to me i still didn't bulge by this time the traffic was so heavy that they were panicking. The towing van will have to go through that traffic to get to my car shei. After about 25-30 minutes. i went to the lastma guys and begged and believe me they let us go without paying kobo.

If you saw a blue KIA on the ramp inward ikorodu from gbagada this morning at about 10 am that was me.
If lastma ever catches you eh make sure you park and obstruct traffic flow.
Be stubborn.
Be smart and more importantly never hand over your keys.
Then pray for some luck.
Never follow them to the office. Never.
e be like say madness be the format now grin

My anger with the whole story wasn't that she was caught. It was the penalty

Nigeria has a very big problem. Very big one. Yes, using phones while driving is wrong. It must be on hands free, but what has Google maps got to do with it?

Why not ensure people use phone holders, instead of arresting people because you saw a phone and a map? There are cars that come with pre-built navigation systems. Should people avoid such cars henceforth?

The annoying part is 98% of road deaths are caused by bad roads, unworthy vehicles on the roads, bad tyres and overspeeding. Why can't the government look into these? How many people have died because they used Google maps?

If I became president today, and sworn in on May 29th, I'm scrapping the FRSC on May 30th. Lagos State has shown us that with an equipped VIO, sanity can be on our roads.

Guess I was lucky to have met with a cool man, was at Ajah on Saturday when a request came in, while trying to find my way down to Happyland estate, FrSC guys stopped me, I didn't know I was not using my seatbelts as I was rushing down to pickup destination, phone on one hand, another on the steering.

They flagged me down, I stopped, the man requested for my DL, I showed him, in other not to waste my time, I simply said pls sir I am going to pick a rider and in a hurry. The man just said Oh You Be Uber Driver, I said Yes Sir. He said GO.

I notice none of you guys use army sticker or army flag on your vehicles and a koboko on the dash board to scare out touts and few law enforcement... My question, "why".
As for me, I go ahead as keeping a military belt on my dash board.

The day you meet with military officials on the road, do well to share your experience with us. In this hustle, it's all about been smart and knowing when to accept trip or decline. I have started noting down areas to avoid as a driver.
