Ramos scored more than 7goals in 2014,he won the UCL, Spanish super cup, UEFA super cup and FIFA club world cup ,Copa del rey .A far more impressive stats than VVD this year, did he win? ... NO.
Varane won the UCL&WC,the FIFA club world cup too in 2018,also far more impressive in 2018 did he win it?... NO?...Mind you he was also pivotal for both Madrid and France that year.

Dude you keep missing the point.....you keep on saying it's not a historical award and I'm still pointing defenders that had better stats in a particular year and not their entire careers. VVD was good this year no doubt but I still think Mane was better.Dude was phenomenal in attack this year for Liverpool...my opinion tho
