i wonder why people keep on worshiping messi when pele and el diego almost single handedly won world cups for their nation. no matter what messi achieves in barca and european football the argentines will never rate him as the greatest but diego armando maradona. diego is god in argentine football

i will recommend you to try and watch argentina's route to glory in mexico 86 to see the wonder of el diego

I agree with you

Diego maradona won what the country valued; a world cup.

In terms of that, only Ronaldo comes close for his Euro Nations league and Euro 2016 win

That's why I rate Ronaldo above messi.

For his wins and the fact that he dominated the leagues he went to. Its that simple.

Let Messi come to England or Italy and dominate the league and maybe, I'll rate him above Rinaldo

Please, messi fan boys, don't come at me with insults ooo. I don't have power abeg

That’s your excuse by saying zero international trophy

But deep down in you ,you all know the truth

It’s becoming boring already

You guys should diss Lionel Messi with something new

We all know Messi did his best but was unlucky to loose out at the 2014 World Cup final

Tell them shevy won the 2004 balon d or and came 3rd twice

These are players I watched and I can argue about

if not for cr7 messi would have won the balon D'or over 10 times. messi ade cr7 better

According to a report from the Sun, West Ham are set for a battle with Tottenham, Chelsea and Leicester for Queens Park Rangers starlet Eberechi Eze in January, and it would be a real statement from the Hammers, if they win the race for the talented youngster’s signature.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form for Rangers this season. He has racked up seven goals and four assists in 19 Championship outings.

Eze is an attacking midfielder by trade. The youngster is powerfully built, has an eye for goal and is a superb passer of the football.

His game is built around pace, power and dynamism – three things that West Ham sometimes lack in the middle of the park.

The QPR starlet would be an exceptional addition for the Hammers. And beating the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea and Leicester to his signature would make it that little bit sweeter.

The Sun claims that Eze will cost around £20 million. And whilst that seems a lot for someone who is unproven in the Premier League, it could end up being an absolute steal.

The 21-year-old has the ability to go on and become one of the game’s very best. If he continues to develop, he will be some player.

And should West Ham win the race for his signature, they will be dealing a big blow to two of their fierce London rivals.

Football is crazy just 3 years plus Millwall released him that he was not good enough. He was going back to college and working at Tesco.

Holloway who has always appreciated technically gifted players after a successful trial he was signed by QPR.

The rest is now history.

Sources: West Ham will not be pursuing move for Chuba Akpom

I never really believed that to be honest.

At this stage there will be lots of wild stories and speculation in the media because of the January transfer window.

It's not even started.

For one l don't see Osimhen moving anywhere on January. Without him Lille is finished thier entire team strategy and style is based on him.

Keep on barking as usual, clamouring for Maja to be capped then is one of the reasons andrewbaba44 tagged me an ass licker till date.

I don't know as of when Forgiveness brought him and asoro's topic here (maybe when Sunderland was still in the epl) but I took notice of Maja when he was banging in goals in the league 1 after Sunderland's demotion from the championship.

I pointed I made case for Maja here because of the unjustified abuse I got from Andrew and others then

Just as we rate the difficulty of the game in the past era of the game due to tackles and protection, the pace and intensity of the current game will prove difficult to the players of the past.

I have heard old heads say it that they would not be able to cope with the pace of the game today. That is why we have players on mean diets. Even Messi today finds it difficult to ghost past players. You find it hard seeing tricks coming off due to the Zonal presses going on.

I still feel the modern game is far hard due to its pace and intensity.

I have no doubt that the current Manchester City team or Liverpool will trouble the Santos team of Pele, efen whoop them, clearly because of the intensity.

In my opinion football has become way too tactical and strictly disciplined.

All that show boating that JJay use to do will not be tolerated by many managers today.

End product is now the issue not dribbling skills and fancy footwork. Team contribution and cohesion much more important than individual me, myself and I football.

Comparing kyle walker and Mendy to Cafu Chai....

Cafu don't suffer

Note the keyword, fitness. Cafu was running laps against unfit players. Walker, Mendy and Co. are doing this against insane fit players.

Oga, he just answered your question. Why do you like going around in circles?

The guys of old didn't have all these modern gym and equipment and tech yet they played an insane no of games in harsh officiating conditions. Note that racism was rife and many refs were dirty

At the end, those guys can not match the current guys in fitness and intensity.

the modern game is too robotic and direct. players are not allowed to express themselves on the field of play anymore.

Agreed without reservation or question ❓

But then although it can boring and robotic now it's much more effective and RESULT ORIENTATED.

This is something many hear don't appreciate football is no longer about dribbling and show boating.

How many times do you see Arnold trento dribbling and doing skills. But his end product us ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. How many assists has he had him and Robertson for Liverpool.

You mean because they had a leg breaker in the field Pele and Maradona were better footballers?

Talking of leg breaks Shaw cross, De Jong, Pepe have had their fair share

You may not remember the quintessential "ENFORCER" Vinny Jones from the crazy Gang of Wimbledon. John Fashanu was one of thier hard men vet limited footballer technically but he could mash people up on the field.
