This is the season of Robbery again. Christmas is here and some boys must blow before Christmas.

A friend of mine just got robbed in Lagos barely 6hours ago (broad day light!). The robbers even called my phone after they took it from my guy but it so happened I was not in a position to pick a call at that moment. So I missed it.

Shine your eyes everyone. Robbery season is here.

Well my etc has already captured MESSI too while not also forgetting BENZEMA among others.

It's equally the kind of Player BENZEMA is too that is making REAL MADRID still thick till date else they would have been forgotten by now after the exit of CR7.

I don't think BARCELONA can withstand the absence of MESSI right now though for he is everything BARCELONA is presently

Yes benzema is also very unselfish

Barca cant withstand it oooo, but make that time come sha we go jump the bridge

Cup na cup oooo but considering his status in world Football and the accompanying celebration even when it's not the first time of winning it?

Or is it because he didn't score in the 2017 Victory?

Or is it because he is apparently at the twilight of his Football career?

Or simply to make a case of deucing the comparison with CR7?

I just don't understand because there was no pictures and funfair as we have this year in 2017 despite the Match being played in the same SAUDI ARABIA like in 2018 when BRAZIL won

In my opinion football has become way too tactical and strictly disciplined.

All that show boating that JJay use to do will not be tolerated by many managers today.

End product is now the issue not dribbling skills and fancy footwork. Team contribution and cohesion much more important than individual me, myself and I football.

Very true and as a football fan who wants to be entertained, that was the death of the game for me. There is hardly any game I can dream about now unlike before, soon we will be served the very bare bones of football...like a skinny model strutting all over the runway like the epitome of beauty, while guys run after the curvy babes.
Imagine the rubbish we watched in the last champions league final.

You are right about forgiveness mentioning him. I recall that period now. I also remember because I used to note him (Maja) alongside Asoro at Sunderland Youth up till when they made their Championship bows.

Charles hasn't Joi us then. But when he did, he did follow in the equation shaa later on.

ChrisKels:

Charles no follow for any equation, he took notice when everyone else did, dat was when the boy was hot at the league1, but before then, it was forgiveness who told us about him, and myself and icon4s were laughing at him bkus he and Asoro were academy players then

If we are to go by watching only Messi's world cup highlights, I am sure the world would find Messi absolutely basic compared to Pele then. Pele's Highlights at World cups gave us great glimpses into the genius of the man while Messi's WC Highlights showed nothing extra special like Pele at all. That is the truth.

Unlike you, I saw beyond Pele's WC Highlights. I saw whole matches of Pele in 1970 thanks to video tapes and saw enough of him at Santos against many clubsides be it South American or European and for Brazil against many international sides thanks to Video clips, football magazone shows, and much more.

For you to say Pele is not half as good only exposes your ignorance the more.

Eartquake1:

I think you are just hyping Pele just to downgrade Messi and Ronaldo

Pele is not half as good as you are describing him (I watched all his world cup highlights)

No no no no no!

Football stardom is all about destiny. Do you know that Christiano RONALDO still relate to his childhood friend-Albert? Such that Cristiano once admits that he owes his lucky break to one of his closest friends,Albert Fantrau. “I have to thank my friend Albert for my success. We played together for a youth club" .

I believe you wouldn't be wondering why NIGERIA or it Players hasn't been so dominant in world Football despite being undisputed at the U 17 level since they have not been lacking in fitness and Tacticality drills from their coaches all along their footballing career

Modified

Left for me, I would even say Neymar is overrated as a football player frankly speaking.

He is not a fit footballer for he is injury prone.

His Natural talent is the only thing that has worked well for him so far in lieu of his predicament
baba Neymar is never overrated...captaining Brazil national team, scoring almost 70 international goals, close to a 100 cap and still just 27, he hasn't really played for almost 2 years now... Infact his last "real match" was for Barca against psg in the ucl, 2 seasons ago, the comeback....

Too many kicks and foul against him are taking it's toll no doubt.... After Ronaldo and Messi, his shoe is the biggest... no defender can hold a 70% fit Neymar... He is just so unlucky.. .

That's your opinion and observation.

And what does that say about the people here if Indeed your observation is true.

What are the basis of those supposed attacks, disagreements, vitriolic rhetoric and abuse. Is there any justification whatsoever for that kind of behaviour.

I disagree with your correlation STRONGLY first of all. Name one person l have abused ❓ Then secondly name one person l have denigrated.

Football is about opinions thinking one players is better or worse or not so good. Is not an act of abuse or denigration.

OMANBALA takes delight in the most reprehensible vitriolic rhetoric and abuse indeed I find his approach too many here repulsive.

Indeed there are quite a few like him here.

Considering the matter in its entirety if that's the general approach to discourse here. What does it say about the larger majority of contributots here.

That is 10 goals and 5 assists for Sadiq now.

I have read for like 10 pages back and here are my submission...

Firstly we should try to be civil in expressing our ideas Biko, the last few days has seen a surge of attack on a particular monika, we should try abeg... If I meet anybody on this thread outside, I will hug the person, I swear.... This place is my number 1 club now...

2- the 2nd issue is about the old gen vs new gen, i have read arguments, seen different views which are all legit, but one thing stands out, and I have seen such occurrence in the larger scheme of things... Nobody mentions Ronaldo de Lima, in all this back and forth comparism... Why? Why? Why? Imo that guy is the greatest player I have seen, and I've watched quite a few players, is it skills? Is it goal scoring, is it what? But nobody mention that Man... Or have you guys forgotten who Ronaldo is, the true Ronaldo... I grew up watching that man...I can't remember how I got the CD, but I have a best of Ronaldo back then, I eat and sleep that CD...He was my idol, he was the perfect striker... For Brazil, for psv,for inter, for Barca, for Madrid... See resume... Pls let's us be guided abeg...

I alsa watched a couple of cruyff and that man was very very very good, highly technical, probably the best technical player I seen, he even invented a particular dribble, I think it was in the Euros, which I adopted and I still use it when I see the opening, it never fails, expecially if the defender is sleeping....

Maybe we should define the best players by their Era's instead... If not where we want put

Zidane
Ronaldinho

P.s my old man also told me Pele played in Nigeria one time like that, I don't know... But I know his favourite player, SEGUN ODEGBAMI... The only clips of him I have watched is the Nations cup in 80's...

Cc Thesupernerd, (na Carlos Alberto score that monster outside shot right?)
Cc Thegoodjoe
Pele came to Nigeria during the Civil War

The top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie Cyriel Dessers has sensationally turned down the chance of an international career with Belgium as he hope to be called up to the senior national team of Nigeria soon.

Dessers scored a hattrick for Heracles Almelo in their 4-0 win over ADO Den Haag on Saturday to take his goal count to 11 and also top of the goals chart in the Netherlands. His performance has not gone unnoticed by the handlers of the Belgium national team.

He presently has one goal more than Donyell Malen of PSV and Quincy Promes of Ajax despite playing for a modest team like Heracles. A move to a team in a top league has been mooted and a member of his management team Stirr confirmed they have been contact.

” As expected we have received concrete offers for Dessers but now is not the time to talk about it as he is focused on having a very good season and at the end we will talk about his future out of respect for Heracles “, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Speaking on the 24 year old preference for international football, the representative revealed that unofficial contact has taken place with the Belgium FA but Dessers has his mind fixed on representing Nigeria, where he knows he will get more caps.

” It’s not about playing for Belgium. It’s mainly the chance to express yourself on the pitch something which is very possible with Nigeria but not that much a possibility with Belgium. The message was clear when they contacted us, Dessers want to play for Nigeria and that for now remains the situation “.

Meanwhile coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has confirmed talks has been held with the 24 year old and the details will be published soon on this portal.

You think those guys can match Sane or Mane in fitness? Or do you see how effortlessly Mo Salah runs at fast pace?

Do you read how CR7 train for hours to maintain his fitness? What about the revolutionary diet those guys are on?

Those Brazilians will not even come close.

Look at some Pictures of Sane. This is not power-power body but high grade fitness.
I think you should also factor something about the men of the previous generation
They engaged in so much physical exertion from childhood through to adulthood in farming, hunting, swimming, walking long distances such that it gave them fitness and ruggedity. They did not need to gym. When I was a child my dad and so many men I saw were so well built that if it were today you'd think they visit the gym regularly yet I do not recall seeing any go to the gym.

2 or 3 years ago, I remember arguing with some of my hostel boys about Messi and maradona, apparently, most have never watched more than a couple minutes of these oldies clips, I went to school, use d WiFi and downloaded tons of maradona etc...

While watching, I saw a lot of similarities, both argentines, both lefties, both no 10 etc, and it was really really hard for me to say Messi was better than Diego Armando Maradona, azin, is it dribble? Even till now, I think Maradona is the better dribbler, off course Messi Trump's on goal scoring...

Maradona dribbled a "real Madrid" defender and he collided with the post, it was a sorry sight...

He came to Napoli, won the league... Till date we all know how he is treated in Naples... Mexico 86 is one of my favourite tournament, He single handedly killed it... Messi has yet to do all these in the blue and white...

Messi- greatest Barca player, hands down...
Messi greatest player in Argentina? Hot debate... Still hot...
Messi greatest player in History? I don't think so, I think de Lima, many argues Ronaldo...

So you would pick a Suarez as a no.9 over a Ronaldo De Lima? Is that it? Will Suarez do more than a Ronaldo at their primes? Ronaldo battled injuries but my God! His beastly talents could not be hidden and his insane physical attributes and fitness when he was sound health-wise was absolutely unplayable. How would Ronaldo struggle in this era Bikonu? Ronaldo also attacked space pretty good. He was not just about Ball skills. Haba.

It's just terminologies like attack space, zonal marking, space-time etc that makes it look like football of this era is beyond the reach of the oldies but its just words cos these oldies were doing this things in their time.

I was watching a fifa TV clip of our 94 Eagles. Oliseh said that at that time their transitioning from midfield to attack was so fast but that they didn't even know then.

You talk of sweeper keeper and everybody thinks about Neuer but go to the annals there was a goalkeeper in South America (not Higuita ) who was doing it. Nothing new. It's just an improvement and evolution of what was.
