i feel your pain bro, just like any other Nigerian i would condemn the act, op u seem to b a calm person who abides by d rules n follow due process, truth is, most times its not anyones fault but d way d system was designed, same thing we face over here, during clinic hours you ll see patients complaining dat dey hv been around earlier than d ones being attended to, most clinicians dont even know d patients and attend to d folders according to how d nurses presented them on the table, an understanding medical personel would calm d patient, bt sometimes d doctors are exhausted at d end of d clinic hours and would pour out their frustration on any patient....its partly not their fault,i could understand, however, dat doesnt justify being rude,as a matter of fact being patient is part of d training in medical practice. OP i ll advice u still be patient and come bk at a convenient time for you and meet d dr who attended to you earlier. Good luck bro 3 Likes |

I had similar experience at a general hospital here in Iwo, Osun state. It happened that i was feeling sick. So, I had to visit the afforesaid hospital. On getting there i went straight to where i was to obtain my card, i was told to buy exercise book so that i could get registered and i went out to buy and gave it to them. Then after, i was directed to wait at the department where to consult with the doctor. I met around seven people before me so i had to wait. This was around 9'oclock and the doctor was yet to arrive. Time went by We were on seat waiting for the doctor to arrive not until 1'o clock there he came attend to one another in shoddy manner. Manner in the sense that there was no attentive and proper check up in regards to one's explanation. And about the treatment Let's not talk about that side because we were all given same prescription (anti-malaria drugs). Health sector is long deteriorating, it will only get worse if not tackled with holistic approach. 5 Likes |

Try UBTH, you'll know your Ibadan General hospital dey learn. You can leave your house 6am and not get attended to till 5pm and the doctors will stop consultation because Pharmcy has closed. UBTH is frustrating and the CS either elective or emergency is another nightmare. That session needs overhauling. I have not seen where a doctor is to carry out all the CS for the day ( either elective or emergency CS). The experience is bad. Some other area in UBTH might be okay though, like their Neurological section and a few others. 1 Like |

This is really a painful experience especially so for a person already in pains. Did you manage to get the doctor's name, top enable you call him out for his maltreatment, obvious insensitivity and lack of empathy? 1 Like |

That's the current state of the country, go to orile agege too , same ni. All our general hospitals are not functioning like before, the most annoying part is this, these Dr's are rude and they won't listen to your complaints before administering drugs which sounds scary, the best medical care can only be gotten in foreign countries even our government knows the truth, I told someone that our government needs alot of works on our health sector, reduce the cost of lab cost, scan, MRI, CT scan should be affordable 2 Likes |

Richdad50:a scene like this played out in front of me in one of the Lag general hospital, one woman had to form weakness and demanding an assistance to even walk, people waiting to see the Dr felt pity for her and were all ready to give out their space for the woman to see the Dr, I was shocked when I saw the woman outside the pharmacy walking with lots of energy and full of life, I was like see this old woman too o 5 Likes |

See, Op, you said it all. The doctor might also not be at fault but remember, he's the only one duty and tiree. You can't kill the poor guy. He's probably reading and preparing for that UK exam... lol omo lomo, o fe japa. The brain drain is not only in the medical sector, its every where. Very soon, all those coys looking for 10yrs experience will have to make do with corpers who will sign bond when they train them. If care is not taken, Zimbabwe will be better off. It's really pathetic. PMB is also confused. The solution to our woes is secession. The North is drawing Nigeria back to the 14th century. 10 Likes 2 Shares |
