Pls how many times do i have to delete an appointment date and reschedule another one? i think i messed up my appointment date due to the late available date that i saw on the platform which is April 2020 . i thought i was fotunate to see march 11th on the platform and i quicly pick it, but i was told by someone that visa gets ready in two weeks time after visa approval, pls i want to seek ur candid advice, what can i do as regards to this, i made an appointment for march 11, 2020 and i will be having a conference to attend on march 16, 2020 .

Lemme say this in pidgin English to make it really clear.

Make una forget all these idea of travelling for conferences, graduation ceremony, siblings child naming ceremony using IV letters etc. Those things have been grossly abused by our dear brothers and sisters before now. Chances of getting the visa are miniscule.
If the conference is not company sponsored(not like that has high success rate either) just don't waste your money. By default, the VO sees all non-immigrant visa applicant as a potential migrant, coupled with the many troubles in Nigeria, we are worse hit.

I advise people took a chill pill and stop wasting $160 visa fee, for now. If you must pay that, make sure whatever reason (besides trying to run away and become an illegal immigrant) you are travelling for, is worth it. Just saying

Who told you?
We need to stop the culture of spreading unfounded information from unofficial sources, and more importantly, listening and looking for these information.
Two weeks for visa to be ready?

With respect to your reason of attending a conference, @Overlord77 has said it as it is.

yeah its too close, should you be succesful at the interview, earliest date you can get your passport is 2 or 3 days..and that is if you opted for self pick up at their office
DATEs bOKU, i guess your interview is lagos?..b.y last wk..earliest date was jan 31, though you could log in randomly all day long, you may be lucky and see an earlier date pop up....abuja usually has earlier dates..than lagos.

so to change your interview date, simply log into your profile, same way you Booked..and u will see other availale dates to select.. note you are entitled to only 1 date change.

As long as you leave before 05/03/2020.

You can even travel in February. They will only grant you entry for whatever time period is left on your visa. Also, be prepared to give more explanation at the POE.

Wrong under US rules so long as you present yourself before a CBP officer on or before 05/03/2020 you'll be fine.

Surprise to read about the negative experiences many Nigerians face daily at the US Consular section as I have had short interviews a couple of times and got my application approved always. However, the rate of visa abuse is also high among Nigerian citizens. A number of friends, relatives and colleagues of mine have gone on vacations, overstayed and absconded . Surprisingly these people are very much comfortable in Nigeria. Imagine what members of the lower class will do. The consular officers are doing all within their powers to limit illegal migration to the US and in the process are not able to clearly differentiate between genuine visitors and potential migrants. Individual actions against laid down rules and procedures over time has presented us negatively even among African nations .

THEY re not trying enough
Canadian embassy deny applicant with sense, and reason for denial but the US just dash out rejection letter anyhow.
My opinion;the US are not interested in Nigeria at all, it like we are begging them to stay but someone will their country dem rules.
I pray this change someday.

Prayers without heart felt, godly sorrow from our past / current misdeeds / wrong doings / lies to God and lies to package visa applications / lies to the VO's that I am going for a conference whereas my intention is to run, hiding pregnancy to obtain visa to give my kids US citizenship, makes my prayers an abomination before a HOLY GOD and also the longterm consequences is, it affects millions of other genuine applicants after me, which invariably implies that Nigeria is suffering from the sins of a larger US visa applicants who ran Olympic race immediately they arrived the US

Lastly, if you are talking about visa application and the applicants started the process with lies and original intent to misrepresent, do not drag prayers / GOD into it because GOD is too HOLY to be in the same sentence with lies, you can't bribe GOD with your prayers and religious pieties void of Godliness/ truth and honesty shocked

Hello everyone , Some days ago , I posted about my parents denial even tho they were trying to come for my graduation. But on their application page , it states that “thier passport is still with the us embassy” . Could this be an error from the us embassy ? The VO returned their passport. But when I tracked it , it’s gave the information that the passport is still with the us embassy. This got me confused .

they can try their luck applying, however, the americans dont give a rat's as.s about such, weddings, graduation, honeymoon, birthdays..etc, they dont care, and treat each application on merit.

same goes for Invitation letters from green card holders, citizens etc...holds no water, and during interview...they rarely ask to see such letters..

sry i may have sounded harsh, but thats the harsh reality

Nigerians can quote God in everything wrong without fear. A bank teller somewhere, mistakenly posts a credit into someone's account, he or she rushes to the nearest ATM and pulls out the money and still has the guts to say, "God don answer my prayers or blessed me cos He knew I was broke". That's the kind of people we are. Calling God with out mouth but hearts be like ......

The bolded part of your post above sums up the problem of humanity ( Nigeria / Nigerians inclusive).

I don't want to sound religious, but the truth of the matter is this >>>>> The fear of God has left several religious centres / congregations / adherents of the 2 popular religions in Nigeria,

Moreover, it cuts across all religions, all religious leaders should go back to the core/ crux of religion, and that is the fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom, once we all have the fear of God, majority of our problems will fizzle out,

Lack of the fear God is the precipitating factor that leads humans to do all manner of wickedness

Hello! So im planning on applying for the b1/b2 visa! Don’t have a date/month in mind for now and don’t know what city or state to visit! But i want to go to the most INTERESTING place where i can get atleast 50-60% of what America is all about!

Profile - Engaged, have a son,In my very early 30’s,i own a business and i can afford the vacation, traveled to Singapore few times for vacay! Travel history on old passport! I’ve a fresh passport now,i can go with both for the interview! I don’t have or know anyone in the US at the moment! Just doing this on my own!

My questions - Where should i visit? What documents will i need to upload prior to the interview while filling the DS160 form? What documents will i need to go to the embassy with? (My 2 passports and statement of acct will do?) Anyone have an idea on available dates for interview in lagos?

You guys should pls advice! Not one person! I need different perspective/opinion (Pls skip the part about US embassy not issuing Visas to Nigerians like that anymore,im aware! Pls advice on the above! Thanks alooooooooot!!!

Regarding your questions about needed documents: all that information is on the consulate website. What exactly do you mean by “50 - 60% of what America is all about”? Every city here in the States is quite different — culturally and historically — offering their own unique set of experiences. To bring it home: I don’t think that a tourist visiting Lagos, Nigeria can claim to have experienced “50 -60% of what Nigeria is all about” just by visiting that one city. So unless you mean to say you’re visiting 50 - 60% of the U.S your question makes no sense. The real question is: what do want to get out of the trip?
